I was there, near the US defending goal in the first half. The chip over our keeper's head was a beauty. The second US goal showed great persistence and awareness.

Well that sucked, except for that final Danny Williams goal.
That was an excellent goal from Williams but the only thing I could really say to it was that at least it isn't a shutout anymore. Brazil just ran roughshod all over us.

We were horrible in possession last night. It was pointed out to me that Altidore is a turnover machine, and indeed, once you're looking for it it's pretty egregious.
Women's Olympic Qualifying is next month here in Texas! Unfortunately, the group with our team is playing in Dallas, although they'll come to Houston for the semis and finals. I might have to see if I can make it.
The Women have a friendly v Ireland beforehand, January 23 on FS1. The Men have one v Iceland on January 31 (ESPN2) and one on February 5 v Canada (FS1).
The Men have World Cup qualifying matches starting March 25.
Tonight! The world champs begin Olympic qualifying here in Texas against Costa Rica, a team they've never lost to.

No real surprise there - and I know there's a lot of buzz around Alex Morgan scoring the fastest-ever US goal, but I was most impressed by the control Christen Press showed on her goal.
