SWTOR: Catch-All

I returned to this game after years since playing. I bought the Amazon bundle pack which included 3 months of game time and like 2,400 in cartel market money. I haven't played since the cartel market has been added. Any suggestions on the best way to use my credits?

I'd say that unlocks are probably the best route - if there's a particular species/hairstyle/appearance thing that you're excited by. You can also look into unlocking the Ewok and HK companions (though the HK companion is going to be a freebie giveaway for subscribers soon, so maybe not that), or buying your character a set of armor that looks rad.

Yeah if you don't plan on maintaining subscription you can use your coins to unlock features once you drop back down to the free/preferred level. Things like being able to use purple gear, additional character slots and stuff.

I still haven't found anything I was particularly excited to get in the Cartel. Figure if I keep saving coins from my monthly sub something will pop up.

Finished what's there for Fallen Empire over the weekend. As a story, I really enjoyed it. Lots of twists, lots of good Star Wars melodrama. I missed the story being tied to specifically to my class, but nothing I can't live with. When you reach chapter 9 you more or less get a new base of operations and a new status quo that will play out over the chapters they've got coming over the rest of the year. I need to decide if I'm going to keep paying monthly to play each chapter as it comes out, or if I'm going to cancel for a few months and come back to it later. (Really, it'll depend on if I want to start a new class, but there are so many titles in Q1 that I want to play that I doubt I'll make time for it.)

Rocket boots as fast and often as possible. Unlocks on all your characters.

I have a security key on my account, which I didn't know until I came back grants 100 Cartel coins per month. After four plus years of not playing, I had enough to unlock most of the F2P restrictions.

Is this an active GWJ guild?

Just bought the Fallen Empire Bundle, 3 months and 2600 CC for $40 on amazon.

I would spend the credits on unlocks and conveniences. Shortcut to your crew ship. Having your crewmembers return back after selling junk in 30 seconds (or even 5 seconds). Things like that.

Regarding the button spam, having played through all the classes to completion now, I noticed that there's always a bunch of abilities that seem less useful and almost pointless except in certain circumstances. That helps cut down a lot for me on the UI logjam.

Changing to the advanced UI was helpful for button management. Gives you more space to hide the less used buttons.

I bought the field respec. I find it useful to swap dps and heals as needed before/after fps.

Other interesting things to unlock under the Legacy tab as well.

Hit 65 over the weekend; I'd guess I'm about halfway through Shadows of Revan at this point. I'm enjoying the solo-mode flashpoints. Tourism at its best

My wife and I got in some SWOR time this morning. We tore through the Shadow of Revan prelude Flashpoints and started in on Rishi.

They keep shunting us into separate instances for the story bits. That's kind of the opposite of what I enjoyed about playing this game with her. Is that just an early Rishi thing or is that going to keep happening throughout the expansion? What about for the Fallen Empire story stuff?

I subbed to this game two months ago amid Star Warsian hype and have loved it. I play completely solo, and just stick to the story, and it's like I've got 8 Bioware stories to churn through with great gameplay.

That said, I'd love to join a Goodjer guild if there is one. I'm on Ebon Hawk server with a Sith Sorcerer and Marauder. I'm a bit of an altaholic so I have most of the classes started regardless.

I don't believe there is an active guild at this point. Most goodjers are on Jedi Covenant server.

I resubbed recently, after 4 odd years away. Is it just me or do companions now seem OP? I am soloing heroic missions on my jugg with my companion as a healer and only breaking a sweat if I pull more than 5 elites.

They're definitely OP, and they've been nerfed once already

Daaayum. That's hard to imagine. And now you don't even have to gear them! I don't miss that bit.

I used to like it as a way to make use various off-class items that you'd find. Now that they've stopped pretending that there was actually a difference between the old primary attributes, I'm happy to see companion gearing go away.

I like outfitting them, but I'm glad I don't gear them, too.

Anyone still playing this?

I know there are updates still coming out, but I think my time with the game is coming to a close soon.

I stalled out midway through the Knights of the Fallen Empire stuff - the mission where you and the twins's mom go to some sort of oldtown area.

I completed the core KotFE content, but had my fill by that point, cancelled my account, and haven't gone back to check out the new chapters that have been coming out for it. Possible I'll go back to it eventually, but probably not before they put more KotFE chapters out there.

I seriously just had a panic when I saw this pop up because I realized I never canceled my sub. Good thing I bought the one time 60 day! Shew.

I hope in and out of this game but right now I'm busy with other stuff so I haven't progressed much further than chapter...7(?) of the new stuff.

Haven't touched it since I got my Vive. If they release a VR version I'm sure I will be back in there, there is still a lot of great content I haven't seen yet.

Use virtual desktop and play it while in the vive!

That video just got me to redownload the game. Haven't played in years. Does GWJ still play, do we use a voice service? I added a SWTOR to Curse if not.

I went back a few months ago and played through all of the new story content. Felt like a single-player game using MMO mechanics in the best way. Haven't grouped with any Goodjers tho.

yea i was playing a month or so ago almost through the story (quite good btw) with a 2nd toon. With all the new games out now i'm not sure i'll have time till Dec to jump back in.

I guess that is a good enough reason to keep SWTOR alive... we keep getting new Blur Studios Star Wars CG shorts!
