Filthy skimmer here - is there a PC GWJ Clan? I'm just getting into this and would love playing with you folks.

No idea if there is an official clan, but I made one with evilseed and another friend of mine called "Space Ninjas With Jobs". You're welcome to join, if you wish. I've just completed work on all of the research labs minus the Orokin Lab, and we're starting research on some different things. You can look at page 7 for my contact information.

My go-to shotgun is the Khom. I had the same thought about the Drakgoon when I first saw it, but, and maybe I'm using it wrong, it doesn't seem to do much damage per shot. And it being a charge up weapon, I can't see myself using it for major firefights.
The Kohm is a spin-up shotgun that progressively fires faster the longer the trigger is pressed. A multi-shot mod and a fire rate mod add to the potency of this shotgun, allowing an even greater number of bullets to be flung from its barrel over a smaller amount of time.
My next planned shotgun is the New Loka Tigris, once I hit rank 12 (currently an 11), equipped to a toxic-alignment Chroma and with a bunch of reload mods./

Thanks you sold me on the Kohm. I'm researching the best ways to farm Oxium now since I'm short on those for building Kohm.

Kohm is a personal favorite, though it is harder to use it when you get enemies that are 80+ in level, even with a primed point blank and a primed ammo mutation, but it is stupid fun.

New Loka's Tigress is devastating on the amount of raw damage it does!

The Steel Maridian's Hek is also fun, and can get a bit interesting when modded for criticals.

Just do any Corpus missions where their Oxium flyers come out at you, and simply kill them before they kamikaze and explode into you without a drop. They are guaranteed Oxium drop if you kill them before they explode into you, and it's anywhere between 6-12 oxium a piece. (Originally it used to be 1 oxium a piece, so feel happy that the grind has been significantly reduced on this) You should have it in no time doing excavation, survival, or mobile defense. If you don't have a gun that kills them fast, get a gun that will (do not mod it for magnetic damage, eventhough that is what is good against most corpus units, these flyers are exceptions and are all armor), or use a frame that slows them down so you can kill them more easily, like a Frost or Nova.

Can anyone tell me why the Penta grenade launcher falls into the sniper rifle category? I wouldn't have guessed this except that I saw that a Sniper Rifle ammo mutation mod can be applied to it.

Anything that is explosive, pretty much uses sniper/special ammo for pickups and ammo pool. I believe this was done to reduce on how overpowered they could be and stop people from going spam-tastic with them. Originally, the Ogris had a 600 ammo pool if you can believe that.

But, take a word of warning, if you use an explosive secondary, with a sniper rifle, it can mess up the ammo capacity of the sniper rifle.

Thanks Cat, I read about those pesky Oxium Ospreys! Any tips on getting Argon Crystals? Turns out I have exactly zero of those

Any void survival mission is good for them, I also frequently get them from T2(+) Capture missions in which I scour the entire map for crystals after the target is apprehended (Which is also a good tactic for locating/practicing Orokin obstacle courses). The more people you convince to take part in a void mission, the more likely they are to drop. You will also find that, while you are searching for argon crystals, you will likely get tons of control modules in the process. I'm sitting on around 500 of them at the moment .

Always in for void missions
I love the Kohmak as secundairy weapon. Chews through enemies almost like a primary.
Tried the Kohm today. Need to get that wind up time way down.

Ah those Void missions. No pub matchmaking. Time to round up the GWJers!

I've wondered about this for a while but all the missions in this game have a recommended level range BUT... what does that actually relate to? Mastery Rank goes up too slowly. Is it an average of level on all your equipped gear? Right now it's a very fuzzy assessment of "oh, well I've had an easy time on those Level 10-15 difficulty missions so this one should be a cakewalk".

I never gave it much thought. Over 30 it gets a bit more challenging. 40 / 50 and up, work is to be done

From the wiki: "Mastery is a method of tracking a player's relative skill level and how much of the game's content they have experienced."

You get mastery points by leveling up your warframes, weapons, companions, and by completing different mission nodes for the first time. For mission levels, you have to look more toward what kind of mods you have on whatever warframe, weapons, and companions you are taking with you. Leveling up mods, using Orokin Reactors to level up your warframe/weapons, that type of stuff is what matters. I could be Mastery Rank 20, but if I'm using a brand new unmodded warframe, with unmodded weapons, I'll still get destroyed on higher level missions.

Thanks Laarrs. I understand the relationship between leveling weapons/frames/gear to raise Mastery and that a naked Level 30 item may as well be Level 0. But saying a mission is Level 50... what does that even mean? Is it an aggregate rating based on estimated item level + number of mods installed?

Ah, sorry about that. I think it means you're going to get beaten up real, real bad. I haven't been playing long enough to know myself, hehe.

Been watching the recent Total Biscuit stream series posted earlier. The man (and fellow youtubers) are just getting showered in gifts. It's a bit disgusting and I most definitely want a piece of that action.

Yeah it's official: I hate Spy missions!

Heh. I usually run Limbo and Rift Walk through the vaults. I've only had one where the alarm was sounded (didn't manage to kill a Trooper fast enough). Usually takes me 5-6 minutes to do a full Spy Mission.

I hear you. I picked up Loki and the stealth sentinel because I'm so bad at them, hehe.

Argon Crystals, as everyone has mentioned, you can only get those in the void, doing Survival or Defense void mission is the best way to get them, however, there is one thing to keep in mind with Argon Crystals, you will loose 1/2 of your supply of Argon Crystals every 24 hours or 7pm EST, whichever comes second.

I forget lore reason for this, but argon is the resource you cannot hoard, you get it as you need it. So, if anything needs more than one argon, you have to get it all that you need in 24 hours before it disappears. DE wanted to come up with a resource that could not be stockpiled since there are tons of veteran players that have so much of everything that we won't have to farm for any old resources for a very long time. Fortunately, most items only need one Argon to build, some will require two, and only one item so far requires 3.

You're welcome to friend me up, I plan to go void crazy on some missions in two weeks, when the newest prime items are introduced. I usually play a little every night, usually sorties, but always willing to help, and will try not to kill everything instantly.

This. This is very interesting. Do other games do this? Such a simple solution for controlling resource flooding. And any developer worth their salt can conjure up a decent enough reason in the lore for such a thing to happen.

Huh, who knows I might have at one time had a few Argon to my name but they just poofed away without my knowledge!

Thanks Cat. I don't remember if you play on PS4 but if you do I plan on some Void excursions this weekend and would love the carry... ahem... the company.

Until then I am backtracking to the earlier planets and completing any flashing mission nodes (minus stupid Archwing ones).

Sorry, PC player here, so I can only help you by answering questions.

Accepted, and clan invite sent out.

A progression chart. It shows the planets, bosses general level range and resources. It's interesting to see it laid out.

A heads up to PC players that may be on the fence about buying platinum: Steam's mod packs are on sale, half price, with their sales event.

I picked up the firewalker bundle during the winter sale (at the same discount) and it was of very good value.

Should not have told me that Eldon
But, yeah, got me some

Damn jealous of that sale!

I am growing my first kubrow now and building karak. Slowly grinding up favour with a syndicate too.

Some syndicates like each other, and hate other ones again. So go for three at a time. Some like each other or are just ok with them, but you still get points I extra think. It helps things move quicker

Cool yah noticed the allied/opposed dynamic with the syndicates which is a nice touch. I'm wearing the sigil for Arbiters now so that means I've also been gaining favour with Steel and Cephalon. So, the first three groups

That's how I started They have some nice items.

I grew my Kubrow late last night and it's adorable!

I'm really enjoying the game and I've been thinking about getting that Trinity Prime pack. Today is the last day to grab it. I'm not sure which frame they'll offer up in the next vault. Last rumour I had floating around was Saryn. I have been carrying regular Trinity blueprint for a while, just haven't been able to unlock the appropriate areas to farm. Regardless of who's up next I definitely want to add a solid support player to the roster.

The big infusion of Plat is also going to be nice: I am in the mood to play some Barbie dress-up, too.
