Star Wars Rebels Catch-All

edit: Also, watching the second episode and realizing that Wolf was actually a minor character from Clone Wars. I thought he had been invented for Rebels. I wonder if the other clones were all pulled from Clone Wars as well.

Yeah, they all were.

I thought it was interesting that Rex, Gregor and Wolffe were the clones chosen. Made me wonder about some of the others with uncertain fates, mostly Cody.

Edit: Didn't know how Wolffe's name was spelled. I at least remembered him because Plo Koon was one of my favorite Jedi and he worked with Wolffe.

I would say because we saw Cody order Kenobi fired upon and I know Rex and Wolffe were cognizant of the situation with the chips.

I've seen some Internet writings that say that Cody continues serving Anakin/Vader for the rest of his life.

I forgot to post this last week, but I LOVED the Jaws homage in Part 1.

The people who work on this show do such a great job. Really impressed.

That moment was phenomenal! Was just me and my kids watching and I got this big goofy grin on my face when I realized what they were going for. Made me wish they were old enough for Jaws, so that the significance of it wouldn't be lost on them. Alas, my almost 12yo daughter thinks Jurassic Park is too scary, so Jaws would probably be a bit much.

That wouldn't make sense since Cody served Obi-wan and Rex served Anakin. At least not in any sort of poetic way.

Good point, but would be interested to see more of his story since he was powerless to stop it because of the chip, seems like there would be some fallout there.

I guess the rest of the Inquisition weren't told of the inherent design flaw in their lightsabers that got the Grand Inquisitor killed?

No fallout with Cody. The chip makes them totally subservient to the Empire. In the Kanan comics, the clones that were friends with him and his master kill his master and then hunt him for quite awhile. They all believe the Jedi are traitors so there isn't any remorse.

Ah, that's a bummer. Clone Wars made me care about all of the clones so I always wanted to see more stories about them post-CW.

This is like fan-fiction in the best way. Bringing back all the best original characters from Clone Wars? Why the hell not? Make poor Fives' sacrifice mean something? Absolutely!

And we continue the trend with Hondo. I was really torn with Hondo's portrayal. One of the great things about how he worked in the Clone Wars was that he always several steps ahead of everyone, even when things weren't his favor. This new Hondo who doesn't recognize when he's obviously being lied to and is constantly being outmaneuvered by low-level criminals is not quite the character I remember. But on the other hand, they've captured the tone of him perfectly.

Yeah, agreed on that. But it was fun to see him again, even if he was a bit washed up.

Also I just got caught up on the episode from before that too, interesting idea that the Inquisitor from the previous season was the 'Grand' one. Meaning these new ones are less powerful? Certainly seemed like it from that confrontation. Gives a good idea of how lucky they got last season?

So am I the only one who noticed that Hondo's voice actor is Jim Cummings, the guy who voiced Minsc in Baldur's Gate?

You're not the only one. My first thought whenever I hear Cummings is, "Hey it's Winnie the Pooh."

He'll always be Darth Vader to me.

B-Wings! Project Shantipole!

Yeah right there with you Rat Boy. Felt like I was playing X-Wing as a kid and it was 1993 again.

Whaaat? I played that RPG Module... Looking forward to watching that one.

I just love this friggin show. Going to post after every episode the exact same thing.

Just wish that...

Spoiler:

...the B-Wing from the X-Wing expansion had the instant-kill ray.

I wish the Lego set coming out from this ep was the same color!

I disliked the B-Wing episode. I like the B-Wing but:

Spoiler:

crafting a fighter that can take out cruisers with their main weapon is a bit much.

Even though it was only a prototype.

Plus it was a great opportunity to introduce another alien "alien" species (Verpines) in the new universe. After all the galaxy is supposed to have thousands of races but it seems to be dominated by Mon Calamari, Twi'leks, and various humans.

Agreed. I found that to be an annoying addition to the bomber.

Also, the A-wing pilots in those show are awful.

Wait there were Verpines? I thought the crafter guy was just a short mon cala

Nope, I'm talking about a missed opportunity.

So Rebels takes place before A New Hope, right?

Anyone else bothered by the fact that the infant rebel cause is using A-Wings when that fighter didn't show up until later. They should be using Z-95s, Y-Wings, and maybe X-Wings. Unless my view of nerd history is off...

Yeah I was shocked about the A-Wings too. Bugs me.

Technically the B-Wing is early too, that should be post-BoY. But since it was just a prototype I can deal with it, and maybe say it took them a few years to work out the kinks.

Everything outside the shows and the movies, though it somewhat makes sense. If they had X-Wings (which is an excellent all around fighter) then the limited resources of the alliance would not likely be used to develop the A-Wing (and maybe even the B-Wing).

It's an entirely new canon, so A-Wings and B-Wings may predate X-Wings this time around. Also, according to a season two trailer...

Spoiler:

...there's an Interdictor cruiser, which didn't show up until after Yavin in the Legends canon as well.

TIE Interceptor was a counter to the X-Wing. With its faster speed, the Alliance needed an answer. Hence, A-Wing.
