The more dimensions you make, the harder it is on the server, I think. I'd save the dimension for something we don't have any ready means of creating.

I think that merely creating a dimension without it being chunkloaded shouldn't cause it any CPU/RAM stress (though certainly HDD space used). Obviously chunkloading for the duration of that Ender Quarry would add a bit, but once that's done and the bits reclaimed, it shouldn't be any more stressful than any other random couple-dozen chunks that exist off in the distance of the Overworld, right?

I need a project. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like a good time to dig into Witchcraft.

Shamelessly stolen for sig.

I am both humbled and honored.

Would some kind person with op powers please restore my inventory from 3:00pm eastern today? I fell through the world and died after creating and entering a twilight portal. My gravestone is nowhere to be found.

Shealyn also needs help. She went into Twilight Forest to try to help, and now she's stuck beneath the world and unable to get out. She's flying, so not dead thank goodness. Just needs a teleport.

EDIT: Never mind. She died and lost her stuff too. If you restore her inventory at 7pm eastern today she should be alright. I don't think we'll be going back to twilight forest anymore!

I am available now if you are around.

I've discovered that an ordinary anvil will put enchants, specifically soulbound, on items that an auto-enchanter will not, specifically golden bag of holding. So I have discovered a need for concentrated essence berries, and have set up an automated farm for them which pipes into the common AE2 network. I've only been able to get my hands on 5 bushes, though, and would like 20 more. Can anyone contribute some more to the common good?

I've redesigned my Pneumaticcraft setup to be not so stupid, and can handle high-throughput processing of materials. I'm finally going to start programming drones to make my Certus City... It's an irksome process, but opencomputers is an entirely different mod to learn in short order to do the same thing after all this time & effort in Pneumaticcraft. Heh.

Mastrude, you can also use liquid XP from mobgrinding to level up.

Is there a way to pull liquid xp out of an obelisk without going up to the obelisk? To make it more convenient to allow people to access what is made from the mob farm Odd made.

It can be piped out like any fluid.

I'm interested in how your city is coming. When will there be something to see?

I'm also interested in your experience with open computers. Could we have a conversation about this, over Skype or the GWJ Ventrilo Channel? The latter won't disclose any of your personal info. The former won't disclose much.

At this point in our cycle, only a few of us are still active. I'm not highly active myself, but I'm enjoying this world, and wouldn't want to start over in another modpack. I have a whole lot yet to explore.

So how is everyone feeling about things? At some point the consensus will move on, possibly when modpacks move beyond 1.7.10. Would this or any other event you can foresee trigger a stampede? How long do you all think this world is good for? Please share your thoughts.

Giggity

This is all I can think of whenever Crypto and Merphle are just smacking each other for amusement (probably because you're both mostly red and yellow.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5nr...

Yup, it's pretty much exactly that -- but cubier. Also, obligatory "that escalated quickly!".

I'm not super active anymore and likely won't be super active in this world anymore. Fallout 4 is about to come out but maybe in december I'd be in favor of maybe trying a different pack or a new world.

I'm also expecting to get seriously distracted by the Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup tournament starting tomorrow, as well as Fallout 4 next week. I think there's still a bit more that I might want to explore in Unabridged, but I wouldn't want to hold folks back if they wanted a change. I guess what I'm saying is: I'll go with the popular majority vote.

Heh. There won't be something to see for a while. I'm doing some land flattening for now, and i'm still thinking in terms of geometric patterns, central observatory tower with four outlying buildings.

My experience with opencomputers (especially the current pack) is pretty much nil, though I'm sure I could pick up LUA pretty easily.

I can look into it, but how does opencomputers differ from Computer Craft, if at all? Is it just rebranded, or is it an alternative? The_Shrike, I'm certain you can pick up the Lua very easily. Makes me want to spin up a SP world on as beefy a machine as I can and have chunk loaders to keep a whole host of chunks open and see how much terraforming and construction and chaos I can get up to with some turtles.

I think one of the main differences between open computers and computer craft is that open computers is persistent. If a chunk gets unloaded, it starts back up exactly where it was when the chunk is loaded again.

Ah that's cool. If I get time I'll dig into that.

I've figured out how the pneumaticcraft drones and such work, and that if you make a programmable controller, you can make it build things much more easily.

You can build shells, too, by specifying an area to whitelist/build in and set it to the right of the 'place' piece, and blacklist the area you want left open to the left of the piece. This makes construction quite simple, if you've got enough GPS settings.

So, I've made the central tower. Yes, it's phallic, because that's how things work, I'm afraid. But I didn't have to place a single block, just did some trimming.

Note that the coordinates are a little weird, and it's easy to build out a little too far.

The drones can also use tools to mine, so I've given my controller an XU pick that won't break, thereby making it pretty fast.

Oh, and it seems like we can't make unstable TiCo tools anymore. :/

I'm a lurker and unlikely to get into this world before it's shelved, so I wonder: would you have the time to post a couple of screenshots of the building? This is the kind of thing I want to do with Minecraft mods (primarily the computing/turtle ones) but...I'm not spending my time in a way that's compatible with playing right now. Would be cool to observe, though. I might try installing the modpack and running around, at least until I run out of food. +)

Food demands are turned wayyyy down in this modpack; eating is a rather rare necessity, which should make your tourism much easier.

Nice! Much obliged.

We also have a number of portals that connect most of the most interesting locations.

Mine's currently an interesting looking hanger, a very nicely arranged power system, a space program, and a lozenge-shaped tower that I'll be trying to make much less phallic.

Hmm, how to to that... Extra towers, an outer ring around a courtyard, with skybridges? I wonder how versatile the shells truly are....
