Streamers with jobs

If you're going to try another service, I'm a big fan of beam.pro.

Hmm, yeah. Looks like I set up an account early on with them and promptly forgot about it. Definitely a good choice and it looks like they have an option for Melbourne as a home location, which should keep things from having to bounce to the US and back for AU viewers.

Post here in advance when you plan to stream and I'll try to make it.

Awesome advice and help!

Thanks guys! I'm going to spend this weekend setting up a restreamer and signing up to other services so that I can get peeps to test out one or two streams to tell the difference. I've tried hitbox as well but from memory I think they had the same issues with servers.

I'll announce when I'm next able to stream in the morning so that it's a bit easier for northerners to have a peek. Thanks again for all the advice!

flax, sorry I didn't get in here sooner. I was onboard for your Hand of Fate stream a few nights ago, that was you, right? Quality seemed good on my end, and there was no buffering...just a normal stream experience on my end. Looked good.

I'm about to stream Orcket League with Staats at www.twitch.tv/hatchetjob

It was fun chatting to Wink earlier on the stream. Is there a GWJ member called Taptag? He was also very chatty.

Legend! I've set up all the other accounts and a restreamer, so might still get your opinions on which stream is the best anyway. I'll be sure to post here before I do anything though.

That's me! Was fun to tune in while having breakfast and getting ready, you guys have got good...banter. And for the record, a croc jumping tour is where you get on a boat on a river and the tour guides offer up bits of meat on a stick in order for crocodiles to jump and eat them. About to leave now and I'm pretty excited!

Oh, that sounds exciting. Have fun. (And nice dig, there.)

I'm about to stream Orcket League with a pal at www.twitch.tv/hatchetjob

So, TheGunrun, a long time mostly behind the scenes wizard kinda person at Twitch posted a link to StreamPro.io on his twitter.

Seems like an interesting tool that easily integrates several features that people usually end up using multiple bits of secondary software for.

Something for all of you that stream regularly to maybe have a look at

I'm about to start streaming some Hand of Fate if people want to tune in and hear me talk some critical discussion of the game. Probably the last time I'll be playing this one, got a lot of other games on the schedule to chat about!

I just heard about StreamPro.io - ironically from streamtip.net. Haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but I intend to.

Totally reminds me I need to pick that up and play it.

It's quite good, but let down a little at the end by artificial difficulty increases. Definitely an interesting gameplay mechanic and a rich soil to seed a sequel in.

Someone was using this in one of my streams recently and said it really helps them due to their slower internet connection, so it seems to work well based on at least that anecdotal evidence.

Guess I should probably check in here since I've started streaming on a semi-regular basis. Although why people tune in is still beyond me.

I played Entwined on PS4 and ended up talking about hippie parents and even touched on Ladyhawke.

This is what happens when you don't have any friends to play with.

I tried watching your stream a little earlier, but it was stuttering something fierce. Practically unwatchable, unfortunately. I had to run catch a bus, otherwise I would've said hey.

Yeah, I keep trying to fix that but I'm not sure how. It's really bad and I can't fault people for saying "eff that!"

I'm currently using OBS v0.655b - 64bit on my rig (i5-4670K with a GTX 970, 16gig of RAM), and maybe I need to tweak the settings. I followed the setup options to the letter though...

Make sure your bit rate is at least 2000. Anything less than that can get kind of choppy.

I've just been testing out OBS and I'm having a few issues with the game capture. My monitor capture setting works fine and shows the screen, but when I take it off and just have game capture on, I get nothing but a black screen. I can hear the audio, but there's no image.

I've done a Google search and all I could find was people saying that it was an issue with laptops (I'm running on my desktop) and others suggesting that I should start OBS after loading a game up, but that hasn't worked either, any suggestions? My video adapter is set to my NVIDIA card and the game capture source is linked to the Steam application.

EDIT: What I really mean with this is - Is there a way to make it so it only shows stuff running through Steam, I have monitor capture turned off and just game capture on, so was hoping this would just capture the game and Steam rather than my desktop!

I think you need to specify the game to capture, not just 'Steam'. OBS won't know what to do with that.

I could be mistaken, of course.

Sometimes OBS just can't pick up a game for whatever reason. For example, I can't capture Distant Worlds unless I use Monitor Capture.

That said, you have to go into the Game Capture settings and specify the game itself (if it's listed), or else you'll get a blank screen like Hyetal suggested.

This sounds correct to me. I always had to identify each individual game's executable in OBS.

Aye, I gave it a quick test with Valkyria Chronicles and that wasn't showing up in the list. Oh well, guess I'll have to stick with the monitor capture on!

I ran into that same issue to. Each time I would directly configure it for a specific game, nothing but the black screen. Gave up and just live with the monitor capture.

Wait, are you all running the 64 bit version of OBS?

They provide the 64 bit exectuable but

make sure you are running the 32 bit version of OBS for maximum compatibility.

can still be found in their FAQ's.

At one point full-screen game capture was completely non-functional if you used that. You had to run the 32 bit exectuable for OBS. I don't know if that's still the case or not.

Even if not, there were some games that still wouldn't work with game capture if you ran them in fullscreen mode. You had to run windowed-fullscreen settings to get them working.

For what it's worth, windowed fullscreen shouldn't really cause you any issues.

I'm about to play Ground Zeroes for the first time. Watch me at www.twitch.tv/hatchetjob

If Masher_66 is a GWJer, then thanks for watching and your comments. I was bloody awful at it.
