FF15: GWJFFL 2015 registration and discussion

@KeeperPeople, I've given up on trying to automate it; I'll be doing keeper prices manually again this year and hope to share the document tonight. Sorry for the delay.

Here you go. Let me know if anything looks amiss.

We haven't had enough sign-ups to activate D-III since 2011. That being said, I'm totally willing to do it. Tell your friends. ;-)

Then I guess I'll preemptively go for D-II if D-III's a wash this year.

First off, thank you Grump for doing this.

I see myself on the registration log for D1 and Dynasty. Will I be eligible for promotion to Pro based on my D1 championship?

Well, technically just since you turned D1 into Pro and D2 and D3 got "promotions."

Thanks, what were the rules for the <10$ players being +3 or +4 again?

Anyone want to take over a Dynasty team?

Same here

Grump as much as it pains me, I have to point out an error in the Keeper pricing. According to my records, I drafted Mike Evans last year for $10, not the $1 you have on your spreadsheet. I'm sure he'll cost me more than $4 to keep. Dammit.

Registration records are based on last-year's participation. Once I know who's coming back and who isn't, I'll deal with promotion and relegation... but yes, the top two finishers will be eligible for promotion, should they choose to accept it.

The foundation for the inflation calculation is the "$3 or 30%" rule that seems to be in fairly common usage. I've added the twist that players acquired after the beginning of the year inflate an additional $1/10% (so, "$4 or 40%").

Of course, that's not how things actually work in the GWJFFL. Instead of using a static rule, every player's increase is based on last year's performance. That's why, for example, Jordan Reed and Dennis Pita only increased by $2 instead of the $3 that the "standard" calculation would have warranted. The better they did last year, the more their going to cost you to hang on to them.

I can dive deeper into how the baseline value is derived or exactly how the increase is calculated but ultimately, 39.92% of players inflated by exact the same amount as they would have using the aforementioned static method while another 46.22% are even cheaper than they would have been without all the extra work. In total, 86.13% of players are the same or cheaper than the "$3 or 30%/$4 or 40%" method.

Right you are, sir. Trying to figure out how that happened, looking at last year's draft recap, he was the last player on the page and I suspect I missed a character when I copy-and-pasted the data. Thanks for your integrity. If ESPN will let me do it, an extra $1 is coming your way on draft day.

I apologize for missing the first week of this. grump, I had th worst year ever, but I thing I subbed for someone and got a spot somewhere. I will take whatever spots I can earn. I'll kick in for whatever cash I owe. Bring it.

Also: yay backup noncheaty pats?(duck!)

Here are your top 10 11 most expensive keepers.

Branden Oliver $99
Jamaal Charles $94
LeSean McCoy $86
Matt Forte $81
Calvin Johnson $80
Brandon Marshall $70
Aaron Rodgers $70
Peyton Manning $67
Drew Brees $60
Arian Foster $54
Demaryius Thomas $53

I've got you down for Rabbitroids in the redraft league and The Leftovers in the Keeper league.

Re-upping my D2 team.

That Steam announcement will remind a few people.

I would like to put my name on the list for D-III or D-II.

Sorry if I missed it, but do you use Flea Flicker for all league management, including the draft? I'm in the second year of a local auction draft league on Yahoo so that's what I'm familiar with.

We just crossed the threshold (24) for two redraft leagues. Keeper and Dynasty each have 9 signups so far. Priority registration ends at midnight tonight.

Returning veterans (only last year counts) that post by 23:59 CDT next Saturday, August 8, will be guaranteed a spot. (Important Note: If you got left on the waiting list last year, you will be treated as a veteran for the purpose of re-claiming your spot on the waiting list, but you still need to check in.) Beginning August 9, all sign-ups are first come, first serve. Expansion teams (i.e. new owners) should still post ASAP because you'll be added to the waiting list in the order you post to fill what slots remain once the veterans have had their head-start.

.
Remember that if you wish to expand your participation to other leagues/formats, you should declare your interest in addition to re-upping your existing team. Which brings me to...

I'd like to return to both Dynasty ... I was champion in D-1 last season and will take a promotion to Pro if it's available, as well.

As I was updating the individual league tabs on the registration log, I noticed that you were on the waitlist for Keeper last year, but you didn't mention it last Saturday. Did you want to reclaim your spot on the waitlist?

.

Except for the Keeper league auction draft, the answer is yes. We use ESPN's interface for that. All other leagues use a standard snake draft.

Nah I'll drop that for now. I have almost too many leagues at the moment.

Is there a fee for the redraft leagues? I didn't see that in the rules doc. Thanks.

I'm in for Pro but would prefer someone take over my Dynasty team. I haven't really liked running two leagues the last couple of years.

Pro is the only league that involves money.

Whoops I keep forgetting to sign up. Would like to move up to D1 if possible, otherwise will hang out in D2

Saw the steam announcement when I checked my computer this morning.

I would like to return for

GWJFFL Keeper

and

GWJFFL Pro

I would like to return for Dynasty and Division 1. Finished second in D-1 and if it entails a promotion to Pro, I am in.

Also would like to join Keeper, currently on the waiting list.

Entering into the home stretch, we've still got one slot available in Keeper and two in Dynasty. Redraft is at 29, so we need at least 7 more to fill out a third tier (i.e. D2).

Did anyone in d1/d2 send out an email through the league to remind people to renew?

So it looks like fleaflicker allows us to make trades right now in keeper league. Can we get that formally "approved" for pre-draft trades of players now that keeper prices are out?

Good idea. While I would hope that people would be checking the forums, I just did it in all leagues.

Fine by me.

I'll be returning for

Dynasty

and

D-2

I'm back in for whichever league I was in. Was it d1? I can't remember lol

Sorry, I haven't been looking at new threads that much lately and I see that I'm late. I'll take whatever's open, no biggie.

I'll return for keeper... But heads up right now in case you want someone shadowing me. I fully intend to commit to the league, but with a baby and all I definitely have different priorities this year.

I'm back for D2!
