I loved playing the Mechromancer, so much fun! Her quotes are all awesome, some of my favorites from summoning her robot:

By my command!
To hell with the First Law!
Klaatu barada nikto!
Number Five ALIVE!
Blood and metal, my favorite things!
Super Robot Violence Fun Time!
Domo arigato, suckas!
Murder time!

+1

Kreig is the bomb (and he's about to blow up)! You don't have to play him focused on melee, my current spec is all about three things: the Firehawk shield, never actually having any shields, and always being on fire. Not being on fire is a liability. My entire strategy is trying to catch as many opponents on fire with my current fire weapon as quickly as possible - not kill them mind you, I actually want them to live initially - then when my shield drops, I start exploding because of the Firehawk shield. Once I start exploding, I never stop exploding, so long as my shield stays at zero. This is one reason being on fire is awesome, it keeps your shields at zero, aside from all the stat benefits I get just from being a crazed arsonist lunatic. At that point, you just mingle with the enemies and wait for them to burn and explode to death, and let all the flaming bad guys keep your health topped up because Kreig heals from damage over time effects on enemies. Shooting is almost optional at this point. This isn't just a gimmicky low level build either, this is the strategy I use in Ultimate Vault Hunter mode.

This works best in multiplayer, because once you run out of opponents, you promptly fall over from self inflicted fire damage and need a hand getting up. I use this strategy in my co-op game with Mermaidpirate, and it's very effective!

Oops, wrong thread.

Handsome Collection has been purchased for Xbox One.

$36 on the Xbox Live sale

So I got a legendary pistol from the very first boss (the one who took Claptrap's eye). I'm at level 15 now and it still holds its own. It burst fires corrosive bullets when zoomed. I need a sniper rifle that does the same.

This game is so good. Got burnt out on side quests last time. Enjoying playing as Gaige. Deathtrap is pretty awesome for soloing.

All Dahl sniper rifles have burst fire. If they generate with a Maliwan barrel, they will also be elemental. They chew through the sniper rifle ammo pool, but they can dish out a lot of damage.

I don't usually think of Gaige as a sniper...

"Eh, accuracy's overrated anyway. "

No really, if you haven't heard her go on a maniacal, fourth-wall-breaking power-trip on Anarchy Stacks, you're not getting the most fun out of Gaige.

My favorite weapon for Gaige is a shotgun.

Shotguns became pretty nice when the pirate booty dlc was released especially.
When the Hammerlock DLC came out, burst elemental snipers became mandatory.
One of Maya's greatest abilities was the elemental one that caused a pool of acid on the ground on hit. That helped out so much with badass mechs specifically. It also helped with the downed state since if would constantly finish off enemies to revive you.

Are you kidding? Sniper is where she shines!

1. Summon robot
2. Hide
3. Watch robot go to town
4. Snipe as needed
5. Profit

Ha! That's pretty much exactly how I'm playing.

There used to be a build guide for Gaige called "The Female Doggo and the beast" that was a great sniper build for her. You basically focus on ricochet damage for your bullets, getting 50-100 anarchy stacks, and burning those off when they get too high.

The result being you do SUPER MASSIVE damage on a headshot, and if you miss you still hit HARD. Then you hide behind your bot and let him tank things for you. It was my favorite way to play.

I'd link the build guide, but the page is gone, and I'm too lazy to google.

Anyone playing Borderlands on the PS4? $30 for the Handsome collection is pretty close to my threshold I would pay for a game where most of the content I own on other systems. It's kind of one of those games like Diablo 3, that I imagine I would go back to every few months.

I might jump in at 30.

Edit: But the Handsome Collection is 55 on Amazon right now?

It's $30 this weekend digitally on psn store

Oh, cool. Yeah I might go in tonight.

Bought. Dammit.

Might take a few days to download, though.

Me too

I'm having an odd issue with Borderlands 2 that I was hoping someone has also run into and has solved. I used to play this game a lot with some college friends, multiplayer. I've recently upgraded to a new computer (win10, i7-6700k, gtx1080) and last night we tried to play again. I hosted and they joined, about 5 minutes into the game, my game froze. Hard freeze, I couldn't even get to the Task Manager, it was frozen or a white screen when I tried to bring up the Task Manager via ctrl-alt-del. I reset my computer, then my friend hosted another game. Same problem.

I then tried with Fullscreen Windowed mode. Same freezing issue, but I could get to the Task Manager and kill the BL2 process.

I went back to Steam and did a Verify on the files, it found 1 file that it could not verify. So I assume it re-downloaded. We tried again, same problem. I went back to verify, still found 1 bad file. I re-ran the verification immediately, still had a problem with 1 file.

They had to leave, but afterwards I re-installed Borderlands 2 after Uninstalling it via Steam. Re-ran verification, still found 1 file. I loaded up the game and was able to play fine for a good hour without any problems.

So, it seems like it could be multiplayer related, but how? I have no idea.

Incidentally, in between that I re-installed Geforce Experience because it had new drivers. I don't know if those things are related or not, will try again tonight.

Has anyone had this issue? I've done the requisite Google searching and have run into lots of "my game is freezing threads", but no real solution. One or two users have had this file verification issue as well in addition to the freezing, but also no solution. HALP!

EDIT: One of the friends I'm playing with has an identical PC to mine and has no problems.

Never had any problems with this game.

Possible solution found. So, I traced some forum threads from other places to a clue that maybe the Steam Cloud Save is the problem. So I turned it off. Played a little on my own to make some progress. Then turned it back on. The cloud saves seem to have been updated with what was on the local disk. I then went and played a public internet game for about half an hour without a single freeze. I then played a game with my friend again for about twenty minutes without a single freeze. I'll try more, but it appears that maybe that was the problem. Maybe some kind of desync or corruption between Steam's Cloud save for BL2 and the local saves.

I have been in between games for a bit and I jumped into this again. This game is really fun. I finished up a Gaige play-through that I think I started originally on the 360. I started the second play-through and have been jumping around between the different trees. A little disappointed that in order to move down the tree with Anarchy you have to invest in a skill that lowers your magazine size because I got an Infinity pistol and the first rank of that skill makes it unusable.

The BFF tree is pretty fun as well. I think in some areas I have been able to keep Death Trap out and killing for 10 to 12 minutes straight. And getting the skill that gives him your shield when you are using the Firehawk shield is fun

Oh. There are posts in here much more recent that I expected.

I snagged the Handsome Collection over the holidays because it was $15, and I'd never had a character with any of the high level skills or rarer weapons. Also, never played any of the holiday DLCs. First off, I was a little surprised to see this is still pretty active online. There's always at least one game going one. Anyway, first thing that happened is I was bestowed 75 golden keys and something to the tune of 280 badass ranks. Been maining a Siren, and entered True mode both absurdly overleveled and possibly more strapped than I've ever been for any game ever--Pimpernel, Sandhawk, Female Doggo, Flakker, Thunderfist, and a Bee (that had more capacity than any other shield I had, which in hindsight was a bad sign)--and coasted up until Bloodwing. I'd read elsewhere that you should really start Ultimate around 50 so your guns don't suck, so I ran hard through True, and just barely beat the Warrior with an online crew.

Anyway, it's been a trip to go back. I was never very happy with much of the story and how it was written--Jack reeked a bad Archer impression back when that would have been niche reference, and he's worse now, I've never been comfortable with a lot of the designs of the enemies in Hammerlock, and you can see where things started to shift fully away from the mostly uncommunicative HL-era protagonist in the DLC--but I still love building my character. Also, it's amazing that Ashley Burch went from playing one of my least beloved characters of all time to one of my most beloved characters of all time.

Heyyyyy I have this perpetually installed. Let’s play??

Is it perpetually installed on a PS4?

Curses, no. PC

SirDodger and I have this perpetually installed on PC.

I must make sure SirDodger and you are Steam Friends then.

I too have BL2 and BL the Pre-Sequel installed. I can always use more steam friends to play with!
