It's Time to Let Go of That Which You Cannot Control

It liked me better by 51% of LaPoint''s shot, baby! I can still see it spinning end over end after getting tipped by your goalie''s glove, settling into the net like an angel sent from on high, to bring sadness and lament to San Jose.

You know ... I was only joking in the spirit of the thread ... and now I feel like crying.

spinning, spinning, falling, spinning...

<HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK!>

Yeah, with only 10 games it''s pretty easy to get tieing records. We''ll just have to fight to the death for playoff spots! I think I even had the time to keep playing that night, I was just scared of you coming back and my thumbs getting sore

When are the leagues over?

GWJFL 2005 is almost done with week 11 so, not counting playoffs, 5 more weeks (unless you can find a willing replacement owner, of course). Next week is the final week for GWJFL3 (again, not counting playoffs).

I couldnt get to the site to check the schedule when I posted it. I dont wat to quit - thanks very much King Grumpicus, I was trying to get an idea of my schedule and if I was going to have any conflict in th next month. Gosh - you''d think you were Certis.

See what happens when you ASS_U_ME? Maybe the 6 or so dropouts have made me (even more) cynical (and grumpy, of course). Either way, my bad... though ""When are the leagues over?"" sounds like you''re ready for them to be over as opposed to something like ""How many more opportunities to revel in this most exquisite of leagues might I have the pleasure, nay honor, to enjoy?"" See what I mean?

Yes well if I were made of such feminine stock to talk like that then perhaps, but otherwise umm no. I actually was knee deep in scheduling life for the next month or so and wanted to make sure that I wasnt going to be unavailable as we approached the post season.

I don''t know why you''d be worrying about any post season play.
(Edit because the Internet demands disclaimers: You know I''m just kidding and, if anything, referring to the Bucs and not the Eagles... though you still have time to screw that up, too. ;))

Awesome! A Grumpy & Breathy vs. Spy & Fletcher tag-team cage match!

Let''s get it on! Where''s my 2x4?

Bring me my metal chair - do you smell what the Spy''s been cookin''

I understand I''m about a week late, but allow me just this one post -

Personally, Female Doggoing is just inherent in multiplayer play. We talk about chilling out, kicking back, but this is a league. We all want to win this league. If we were just kicking back, we would not have the semi-organized play that we do.

So saying ""chill out, don''t get so pissed"" is something I just don''t agree with it. f*ck it, I want to win, and when three defensive holding calls take away three fourth-and-twenty plus situations, I''m going to get pissed at the game. Is it picking on me? No, it''s equal abuse, but to me, I''d rather play a game in which success is dictated by the player, rather than by penalties from computer-controlled characters. (If I tackle a receiver personally - then yeah, I''ve got it coming and I should get the penalty.)

However, like I said, this is just an agree-to-disagree situation.

But to return to my original point - Female Doggoing is inherent in a competitive league. Personally, as a writer, going to the forums and writing it out is a way for me to vent. Afterwards, I actually feel better and I try my best to show my frustrations in a fair manner, in which I give the winner all the props for winning the game. Why begrudge me that catharsis?

Take for example my previous game with the Texans against the Redskins. I didn''t think I would have guaranteed won, but even Bagga agreed with me in that freak plays with stupid AI (a la Legion''s example of defenders running away from receivers) changed the tone of a close-fought game to a blow out.

I honestly don''t see why it''s such a bad thing to allow people to vent, particularly in the semi-articulate fashion that we have been venting in the past. We should thank our lucky stars that our league is as chill as it is. One word: GameFAQs, my friend. Like I said - why begrudge us a chance to just show our frustrations? Just do what I do when I hear Female Doggoing like I sometimes will, just smile and nod and ignore the Female Doggoers in question like that {ableist slur} stepbrother who runs into the family room, does something stupid and then runs out.

For as long as there will be multiplayer, there will be Female Doggoing.

That post should be attached to the beginning of every new multiplayer game thread.

Nice post Logan. I think it''s worth pointing out that the key difference between our site and Gamefaqs is that we can talk about things like this in the first place. Nothing quite like raising up some good discussion to keep a community on its toes I always say

GameFAQs can talk about it too, they just use a series of yelps and screeches followed by a feces throwing contest. I prefer our system.

I dont think throwing feces at Certis or Pyro would be a bad thing.

It''s always the games fault when I lose.
