Grand Theft Auto V

Missions are pretty fun way to do so, but you may need a few fellers to help, especially if you can do Hard difficulty. Also the Daily Objectives, you can find under the M menu.

Now I really want to play, but work....

Speaking of MP, Cheeba, syndicate_dragon, and I are going to form a regular crew on Thursday nights for heists. If there's anyone who can make it regularly and wants to join us, let us know.

Edit: I should note that we're aiming for Thursday night heists as a minimum. If we get the crew together on other nights, we'll do the same thing. If we can't get everyone, we'll at least be helping with dailies and normal jobs.

You can only have four players for heists correct? I'd love to see a free for all type event on Thursdays.

I have leveled up so much quicker playing with Nate and Paco, than alone. Moto joined us last night and while he is still learning the controls and such, he leveled up a few quickly also.

Yes, join up with us. You can come on heists at your level, but you can't launch a heist until level 12. You'll level up much faster with a group, especially if we are all repping the same crew (e.g., GWJ)

With our schedules, Thursday is the 'clear' day, and doing some heists (and eventually acing them) is a goal. So far, our luck with getting a group of GWJers to accept invites has been spotty, so it was time to approach things with a little more organization. Realistically, I'll be in the game more often than I should, but Thursday nights is the only day to which I can commit.

Note: you have to be Level 15 to get Daily Objectives. Level 12 (and a high-end apartment) unlock the ability to host your own heists.

That said, you can always JOIN a Heist online, you only need to be level 12 to create/host them from your high-rent apartment.

Of course, it doesn't hurt to have 20 or 40 levels under your belt either, as each 20-level mark adds 20hp to your life bar.

I wish they'd surfaced this fact better. I didn't even notice until I was already over level 60.

Thanks for the qualifying info on that wolfstar76, I've been playing just to play and have been fairly oblivious to level requirements beyond a few Custom shop unlocks. Yay Turbo!.

One thing that may help is to utilize one voice service perhaps? I've checked on GWJ's Vent when there were people playing but didn't see anyone. Seems like we have groups in our group... its like group-ception.

The entire game interface is a bit wonky. Nate had to send me three invites last night before it actually showed up for me. I also noticed that it does not always show a player in a game, so you invite them, but they do not answer because they are in a game. AT one point earlier in the night, I tried to join an open game Nate and Paco were in by clicking on Nates Social icon and joining him, but it threw me into a completely different server.

That usually happens if the session is already full when you tied to join it. You'll see that you'll keep getting messages about "You're still in a queue to join a full instance. . . "

I think I'm done with GTA V on PC for a bit.

So far, I've run into a reliable-to-reproduce CTD bug, just had another CTD happen on me in the middle of a mission, and while it was fun playing with Manach last night in Online, we weren't really able to get anything completed without some kind of disconnect or failure to load.

I'll be back after a patch or two.

Played some survival with MateoFalcone, PacoDeth7, and Czaeba. Recorded Wave 5 or 6 to mess around with the Rockstar Editor.

I'll try to get in on this.

Hit 50 tonight, so that's cool. Also made a friend by driving around terrorizing people. We fought for an hour then 4 of us paired up in his armored car and ran around fighting everyone else. Some funny highlights was stealing a guy's armored APC thing while he was trying to get a tattoo.

My Rockstar Social Club account got hacked. Got an email yesterday morning confirming my support ticket. In the support ticket, the hacker actually wrote that he the account had been hacked and he needed to unlink the steam account and change the email. Fortunately I logged right into my SC account and changed the password. Amazingly the support ticket was actually there, so this was not a phishing attempt. It seems that Rockstar has disabled email changes for this reason, but what was really shocking was when I added another support ticket to notify them that my account had been hacked they reset my password and asked me to change it through a link in the email.

I was immediately suspicious, so I logged in to my actual account and changed the password.

Just beware you may be part of this: http://www.pcgamer.com/rockstar-soci...

I was in a server last night doing my own thing, just driving on the freeway when large UFO's spawned on the roadway and blocked me in. I could not move so I jumped out of the vehicle, started running, and was killed. I suspect a hacker as I was in passive mode. I respawned and was able to get my vehicle back, started driving and ton of vehicles spawned on me. I quit.

Yeah someone probably figured out how to get mods into the online mode or something.

I did not encounter a hacker that bugged me out yet. Only one time, someone spawned in my apartment. And insta-disappeared.

Just change server I guess. But that's sad.

Oh, but sometime funny. There is a video with whales being spawn at random location on YouTube ATM.

The GTAV Trainer program (lets you spawn anything, make cars fly, play as an animal model, etc etc etc) work with the Online mode - apparently with 0 issues. Allegedly (from what I've skimmed on reddit) there's no anti-cheat measures really in effect on the game.

So people running the trainer can login to Online, spawn things all over you, drop money bags around you giving you all the cash you'll ever want, fly around in buses that shoot rockets, etc.

I haven't encountered it myself, but I'm almost always in a friends-only session. I don't think Rockstar has said much/anything about the issue so far.

There IS a patch today, but it doesn't seem to handle the issue.

On PS4, is it possible to set up a private co-op world for two players? I think they took private servers out of the 360 version.

You can launch private online worlds using the online tab when you're in single player. It's dumb that you can't do it from the main menu. But whatever.

Cheers.

Did this game even have an external beta? I feel like I just paid to be a part of their beta.

Other than bad matchmaking, netcode, initialization CTDs, and hackers insta killing me; my main issue is with Graphics... I get quite a bit of microstutter and at some points full on stutter (dropping from 60fps to 45fps sometimes even as low as 5fps). I could be misremembering, but I feel like it was the second patch that made the game run worse on my PC. I've pretty much tried every workaround suggested on Reddit and the Rockstar community with little improvement. I did notice a bit less stutter when I moved my pagefile to SSD. Seems weird how much this game uses the Pagefile even when my RAM is only a bit over half full.

Not knowing anything about the machine you're on makes it really hard to give you any feedback on that.

I dropped to Direct X 10.1 to keep my game from crashing, no issues since then.

Wait, there's an offline online mode?

Happy 50th birthday. I hope I'm still gaming at 50th.

There is a 'Solo' mode. That just plops you into an empty world, yeah.

Baron Of Hell wrote:

Haha, I was talking about Rank 50. But I will definitely be gaming at 50th. Just about the only consistent thing I've done all my life.

I don't think it's my computer that is having issues, since I can play most every other game fairly well, especially with reports of people running into stuttering on better machines than mine. Here are my specs:

i5-2500k, OC'd 4.2ghz
16gb DDR3-1600 RAM
4gb Geforce 970 (latest drivers -GTAV driver)
Game is installed on SSD.
1920x1080p@60hz, ASUS VS248h-p

I've tried lowering just about everything until the ingame VRAM slider is down to 2.2-2.4GBs. I've tried various in-game settings with 2x MSAA w/ TXAA on/off, FXAA on/off, Vsync on/off, all Adv. Graphics are off, most normal graphics settings were on high, lowered pop densities/ variety, shadows, grass, ambient occlusion, tessellation. I've tried forcing settings in Nvidia panel, like Adaptive Vsync, AF 16x, single display performance optimization, shader cache off. I tried DSR up to 1440p (this seems to cause Initialization errors.) I've recently moved my pagefile to SSD and the game to DX 10.1; however the issue persists at random times.

The game performed fairly well on launch day, but after the second patch it seems to be pretty bad. I can go from 60fps to 30fps even down to 5fps, this has mostly seemed to happen during city driving. At one point I thought it was PostFX since it seemed to happen most during in-game sunrise/sunset. It happened last night for a short time when we had lots of police after us and there were some explosions. Pretty sure the game is just poorly optimized.

If I had to guess I would say your problem is the CPU or the MSAA. There's a known bug with GTA5 and the MSAA right now, also there can be stutter happening in Online if you're experiencing any sort of latency or slow connection.

I suspect the CPU because it's right in the middle of min/recommended requirements for the game, with it being overclocked it could be pushing it over the recommended requirements but I don't exactly trust overclocking to be stable, so if you're dropping any performance from that it would show during the game.

I have those exact same specs except for the CPU and the game has never ran poorly for me, I just had an issue where it would crash to desktop every once in a while, that's the only reason I dropped to 10.1 and haven't had any issues since then.

I highly doubt it's the CPU. The GTA 5 recommended CPU is an i5 3470, but the 2500k is on par in most benchmarks against the 3470. I have an i5 2400, stock, 8GB DDR3 1333 Ram and an R9-280x 3GB card (65-75fps). I have very little video issues or stuttering, but I also have frame drops at times. Moto has an AMD Phenom2 X4 955 Black Edition with 8GB Ram DDR2 800 and an HD 6950. While he has very long load times, the game runs smooth (playable at 45-50 fps) for him also, but I had to back off the OC on his rig a bit. We are both running off WD Black 1TB drives also, no SSD's.

I would start by making sure everything is updated to latest drivers, etc..., then start backing off on the overclocking.

I think it is mostly poor game optimization considering their track record of previous GTA releases.
