GWJ Baseball Interest Thread

This thread has dual puposes. It's first purpose is to determine who would be interested in playing in some sort of organized MLB 2K5 group.

It's second purpose is to determine what kind of group that would be.

We are all gamers with jobs. And 16 weeks or 24 weeks is a pretty damn long time to be playing a game. 24 weeks is almost half a year.

So I propose this ... instead of a league, let's set up a tournament. 16 players (hopefully) with about four days in between games to start us off.

What say you?

I''ll play in a tournament, but I''d like a league, too.

16 weeks is just as long as the NFL leagues...

I''d play, and now that I am girlfriend-less, I have less to compete with my league gaming time.

I''d be interested, as I have just recently picked up Xbox Live and MLB 2K5. Either a tournament or a league, it wouldn''t matter to me.

I just came in here to say that only amongst gamers do losing a girlfriend provide such a grand silver lining.

Both. A season and a tourney.

And everyone joining signs a waiver allowing me to come to their house and bash their knees in with a bat if they flake. <glares at Sanj>

I''d be willing to play in a season or a tourney. That is all.

I have worked up some rules and once I experiment with a couple of settings with Swampy (or if anyone is home today and want to mess with some settings) I will create an official sign up thread.

If any one is home today and wants to play a coupel of innings, let me know. I gotta wait until 10 central to call my doctor''s office and schedule an appointment.

I''m in for sure. I vote for a 8 or 16 game league but I''ll take a tourney.

Please though, NO slam-zone! I would get rid of speed boost too, it makes baserunning unbalanced IMHO. If anyone brings in a another starter as a reliever in the 5th inning I humbly request to borrow SwampYankee''s bat.

That is in the rules that I have worked up. Except for the part about Swampy''s bat. I''ll add that.

Yep, they all end up talkin'' ''bout Swampy''s bat...

This isn''t Tee-Ball, Swamp. We''re talking about real wood, not fake metal.

I swear to God, if you guys end up talking me into buying one more sports game, I''m gonna set the building on fire. That said... maybe I could be pursuaded.

I think Swampy covered this subject. In fact, I think it''s Mr. Green signature now.

C''mon Demi. Let''s not all go through this. Just pick it up when you''re getting Chaos theory. It''s another game to play with us. That''s all you need to see, huh?

Truthfully? It all just depends on how my interviews go over the next two days. It''s tough to contemplate spending money without a job.

Well, that''s a lie. But I''m trying to pretend I''m financially secure.

What building are we talking about here? I don''t want to get all realpolitik on you, but if it''s your building, go for it, baby.

Make it EA headquarters.

All clear for ultraviolence!

Well then it is settled. Use me as a referrence, tie down that job, and celebrate with the game!

Is this the EA or ESPN version of the game...I''m so confused??

ESPN!

EA is the devil!

OK...thought so...I have, and I''m ready to 2-hit shutout you people - count me in...and when do we play!!!
