Firesloth, we meet again. Any day after 2100 CST (1900 PST)...

Why do I have a feeling my time for winning has quickly come and go?

Oh that''s right, it''s because I play against Stric.

Stric, I''m good for tonight (Thursday) if you like. If not, let me know when you''re available and we''ll figure something out.

After doing my GWJFL3: Week 16 post, I''m stuck in analyst mode and figured I''d take a look at GWJFL 2005.

Remember that every game still counts, even if you''re playing for the pride of being a spoiler.

With 5 games left to play, the best record that the bottom 3 teams - the Panthers, Browns, and Giants - can achieve is 7-9.* If the season were to end today, the bottom 3 teams in the playoffs - the Colts, Steelers, and Redskins - would have 6-5 records. If (any of) those 3 teams were to lose the rest of their games, they would end the season at 6-10. As you can see, no team is completely out of the picture yet. Similarly, no team is safe yet. Even the mighty Jaguars could find themselves on the outside looking in if they decided to take the rest of the season off.

Good luck, everyone.

* Edit: It is impossible for all 3 teams to win out because the Giants meet the Panthers in week 13. Unfortunately for the third team - the Browns - they face the #1 Jaguars this week and the #3 Patriots next. Additionally, both the Giants and the Panthers have a current top-4 opponent in their future. The Panthers play the #4 Eagles this week and the Giants face the #2 Ravens in week 14. The scheduling gods are cruel sometimes. (Note: Depending on tiebreakers and the like, 6-10 may still be enough to make the playoffs if any of the current 6-5 teams lose all of their remaining games. All three of those teams face 2 top-4 teams in the final 5 weeks.)

Ok LockNLoad lets try to get our game played tonight or tomorrow if possible.

Highlander, we meet again. I''m thinking a football baseball double-header on Sunday night. Do anything for you?

I might be able to do Friday night or Saturday evening, or Monday.

2 Questions.

1) Who be Houston?

2) Are you saying the Lions could conceivably make the playoffs? Or are you just leaving them out for obviousness sake?

Swampy I am out of town Thursday through Sunday, then i must catch up on two weeks of Carnivale. I MIGHT be able to play at some point during the nafternoon. I''ll know more when I am back Sunday.

SpyNavy, what time tonight would be good for you? I have no doubt in my mind you''re going to severely kick my ass but I''ll do my best to keep your score below 100.

Anytime really is good - I am home all day. You let me know what is convenient for you.

NP bub. I''ll talk to you Sunday or Monday or something.

Ohhhh... Bagga, looks like it''s you and me. I''m at home, sick as a log so I''m available GWAH! GWAH!

Grump,

I love rematches. I could play tonight just after 1900 PST (probably), any time Sat/Sun afternoon or even Monday evening at 1900 PST.

I take off again on Wednesday, so Tuesday night would be less convenient. Hopefully we can get this game in soon.

Tonight should work. Let me know if that probably turns into something less favorable.

Cool...my time is mostly set by whether or not Louisville goes into overtime in basketball. Oh, and I suppose whether or not my wife tries to get some house work out of me...we should be good, though.

I can go anytime tonight 7pm-1am PST let me know when is good for you.

SpyNavy, are you available at 11PM EST? Or Midnight even?

How about 1130PM EST? Will that work?

How about 1130PM EST? Will that work?

11:30''s perfect for me. See you then.

Ok see you then - I''ll try not to have any of my players shoot anyone in the back of the head like GR2 :).

Thanks for a great game Spy! I ended up getting stomped pretty bad (45-7) but the Depth Chart lesson will make a big difference in the future. Thanks again.

Yeah - I am glad we figured out the depth chart thing for you. Get a game in with grumpicus - he can explain it much better then I can and tailor it to your team''s scheme of attack. I know Carolina pretty well so that helped, but get a scrimmage in with Grump and you will be set. Remember - safeties are your friends - the no safety defenses will kill you when you have a receiver like TO or even better like Carolina has Smith and Muhammad - once they get around the lone corner it is all over but the weeping. Also Stephen Davis is your buddy between the tackles on the run and Y button is your friend with the shoulder charge. Switch out to Foster to go outside (he is a tad faster) from the play selection screen - should have one of the Xbox buttons and the HB (halfback) next to it - smash it and it will let you swap between your backs - you can do the same with the receivers like we talked about last night. Once you set that up you were off to the races and had a nice TD drive picking apart the man zone :).

I can play m-f 7:00PM - ??

Weekends by appt.

ESPN Videogames appears to be down. I know I was late if it was up before I got there, but it would''ve shut down if we had started the game, anyhow.

Warlock, if you want, we can wait a few hours or try again tomorrow.

Yeah, tomorrow''s probably best. I''m free all day.

Highlander, I''ll be home from Easter Stuff tonight, in case you are also I will look for you on X-Fire and MSN. I should be on the box tonight. I''ll post when I am home too.

I am on MSN Messenger, my GWJ screen name at charter.net

So Logan, when do you want to play today?

I''m home Highlander. The WoW junkies have laid their claims so I will be on LIVE.

I am home as well, but unable to play Live yet. Maybe after dinner (which I am trying to order now).

LOL - oh I''m playing the second string from here on out, but those second-stringers haven''t fallen yet.

Youch. Well, after I played Legion in one league, I played Grump in the other. The first game I lost 49-24; the second I lost 47-27 (an improvement!...actually, it ""should have been"" 45-27, more on that stupidity later).

Between the games I was scored on in *almost* every way possible. Run, pass, INT return, fumble return, return of a punt that I touched but didn''t pick up (dumb), and -- now, this is the best -- a safety because my player took the ball out the back of the endzone on a kick off. (I got distracted, and I play the Ravens so often I thought *I* was the one kicking off, instead of receiving. D''OH!)

Grump played a great game. While I thought I had a chance just before half (hey, I managed to kick a 52 yard FG with 0:01 left before half). The second half did not turn out quite as well...

I did score with 40s left, recover an onside kick, and score with 1s left. I tried one more onside kick, but it wasn''t to be...(not that it''d matter).

The best play of the game (which got some good laughs) was a 5 yard run for a TD by Jamal Lewis (Grump). He got hit in the backfield by a safety, who held on for a bit before falling off the RB (I swear, Lewis is made of Teflon). However, the safety slowed him enough for K.G.B. (GB''s defensive end) to come up to him. Yeah...well Jamal Lewis showed ol'' KGB the palm of his hand, sending him hard to the turf with a stiff arm. The DE!! That''s just not right.

Thanks for the game, Grump!
