I still pay for Hulu+, but it's used almost exclusively for the Criterion movies.
Am I misremembering, or was there a bunch of content on Hulu+ that you couldn't watch on the consoles - only on a computer? Are all the major networks on there?
We don't have cable, but do subscribe to Tivo and record network stuff OTA. I have off and on issues with reception, though. Seems like Hulu+ would be a nice alternative if I could get everything that I currently watch via the PS3.

Nah, the content on the two platforms is the same; however, you can't watch the free Hulu stuff on the consoles without a subscription; you can watch it on PC.
ARGH! You guys are testing my resolve.
I have OTA HD channels and Netflix, but have been waffling with Hulu+ since I have free Hulu and use Chromecast and can watch it on my tv without a sub.
Is it next day for the new shows, or longer?
Next day for everything that I watch.
Double ARGH! then.

It was primarily Anime or foreign-sourced content at the time.

SyFy channel stuff was a big one. Not sure what the case with that is currently. I haven't ever had any anime or foreign stuff ever have that issue.
I get a lot out of Hulu+. It supplements Netflix, Crunchyroll, and AIP nicely, and the Criterion Collection stuff is great.
Edit: I guess SyFy is a division of NBC, which plays really nice with Hulu. Not sure what the deal is or was with limiting it to PC browsers only. It's probably Comcast's fault because it's a cable channel.
There's no way I can ask this question without judgment in my tone, but please take it as an honest question: how do you justify paying for the right to watch ads?
I'm in a willpower battle with Hulu: I want them to make their free service available via mobile/chromecast, and they disdainfully disagree. I'm looking for something that'll bolster their argument beyond "money, Female Doggo!"

You mean what everyone with a cable box has ever done? I honestly don't care. The minute or two of ads per show is basically irrelevant.
*facepalm* They're not making bank with all this apparent "no ad money". It's a business model. You're not paying money to get rid of ads. You're paying money to be able to use the service on consoles which makes for a nice living room experience. You also get a gigantic collection of Criterion Collection movies which has amazing value.
Anyways, I'd much rather anime be on Crunchyroll than Hulu, but I also pay more like $14 a month versus Hulu's $7 or whatever it is at this point. I'm actually not sure how Netflix keeps their subscription cost so low at this point.
Edit: It would be interesting if they started offering a no-ad subscription. I would expect that to cost around $15 per month. If it just got rid of ads, I wouldn't spring for it.

Crunchyroll for just 1080p commercial-free Anime is $6.95 a month.

That must be a promo deal. I just checked my email, and I pay $12.00 a month.
Danger, we've gone off topic.

You must be getting Dramas as well.

Ahhh, I'll have to look into that. I subscribed before they even had dramas.

Aha. Thank you. All I needed was a fair analogy. Hulu is less like Netflix and more like a wholesale cable replacement.
You have successfully enabled me.
Just remember with Hulu that they typically only keep the most recently aired 5 or so episodes of the current seasons of series.
Does Hulu+ keep a better backlog?

It varies per show. Some only have episodes from the current season. Some of every episode of the show. Some have somewhere in-between.
Gah!
I am still about to cave and get this. I refuse to pick up cable or satellite again.
Hulu+ would fill that last void between my OTA HD antenna and Netflix.
Danger 5 is now on Hulu.
It's a bit hard to describe, but it's kinda what you'd get if you mashed Archer with Thunderbirds and everyone was trying to kill Hitler, who was still alive in the 60s for some reason.
It's by the same folks who made Italian Spiderman.
It's a bit hard to describe,
Start with the words "f*cking hilarious."
Some friends of mine worked on Upper Middle Bogan which is now available on Hulu as "Bess of Both Worlds".
It is one of my favourite shows of the last couple of years. VERY Australian so I wonder how well it will translate across the Pacific.
Anyone who has Hulu but doesn't have cable, I highly recommend checking out Broad City. My partner and I are finding it hilarious.
Looks like everything from Cartoon Network is available on Hulu.

OMG, I am obsessed with Rick snd Morty. Dark, hilarious, satirical, mind-warping, and amazing.

Did that go up on Hulu yet? I've been looking forward to watching it.
