Firefly - Love it!

The swear words were obvious in the first pass. I may or may not have substituted those, and various song lyrics, for swearing, in parental life.

Is that stuff founded in real language? Or is there something deeper to be found there?

Sadface. That would mean other people had to come over. I don't have any of those.

Actually, my wife watched some of it and hates sci-fi, but like Firefly.

There's a lot there from the RPG. But I remember some from the show, like I think the "son of a whore and monkey" line.

Mildly humorous, but I hope you're joking. Sooooo many artists are assholes, you've got to try and just enjoy the art in most cases.

Also, that Wash meme is hilarious. I guess I'm over it.

Kind of joking, kind of not. I generally can separate the artist from the art they're in... but there are some exceptions. Mel, Tom, and now Adam are all on a list of folks I just can't see beyond the artist anymore. :\

My wife wouldn't allow any Michael Jackson music at our wedding.

Probably not a topic for this thread, but it is an interesting discussion.

Some pretty cool 6" figures of the crew are coming out soon if you are into that. Same company that made the GoT figures you can see in B&N, etc.

Here are some pics if you are interested in that sort of thing

Just posted that to the Kickstarter thread, I think it sounds hilarious.

My money, shut up and take it!

Psh, I thought this forum loved Firefly, but I guess NOT

How about a vote for Firefly?

I didn't see where to vote?

I do love Firefly, that's why I don't want to see a reboot of it :p

Shiny! I'm sure that was difficult to arrange. The beginning was a bit shaky, but it really shone through (no pun intended) in the end.

Mother. f*cking. Chills.

holy. Crap.

Wait, that's the cast of The Flash singing that. Wow.

Apparently this was a thank you to Joss for giving a big donation to their Kickstarter

Yeah, apparently they're doing a Kickstarter and Joss Whedon supported it, so they did this as a thank you:

Edit: Dammit, Tangleboned.

Pretty much. Having heard of a few of Joss's ideas for where the show was going next (including a cyborg-resurrected cop from the pilot with a vengeance rage for Mal and crew)... I kind of feel like the show probably ended just in time before getting all kinds of stupid.

I think that (or a variation of it) happened in the Serenity comics, it wasn't really a great plot line. Which could probably be said about most of the comics as I'm having a hard time remembering anything from those.

EDIT: And count me among those who would prefer the series stays dead at this point.

You're all worthless and weak!

Fillion and Tudyk had a recent interview about Con Man where they talked about Firefly. They said it's remembered so fondly partly because they never had a chance to suck. There was no "the second season was better than the first."

Ah, here it is. Those guys seem like they'd be a blast to hang around with.

They're not wrong, both Buffy and Angel had very sh*tty seasons each, and Dollhouse's entire run was a sh*tty season, so yeah, Firefly is kind of a perfect little nugget.

Yup. I'd have much better memories of shows like House, Heroes, and 24 if they had all died at the right time instead of peaking early and then limping along well past their prime.

EDIT: Agent Carter runs a real risk of the above too. Absolutely loved the first season and while I really want a second season I really hope they know what made that season work and are able to recapture that lightning.

The movie was the second season that sucked. [Runs from the internet.]
