GWJFL 2005: Week 10

Neo, You ran Rhodes? Why not Johnson?

Boller more then held his own against Manning passing for 291 yards and 2 TD's and had two 100 yard receivers (Johnson & Lewis).

For the record, most of Lewis'' 111 ""receiving"" yards (and his receiving TD) came on a 64 yard break-away shuffle pass. The 30-yard slant-and-go out of the H-back was legitimate (if improbably), though. For completeness, the rest came on 2 swing passes in the flats - which is where he dropped, or was overthrown, at least twice that number.

Neo, when you get your hands on Swampy''s Johnson you have to move on it. It was part of your deal!

Logan, I won''t be able to play tonight. Got handed a project at work that I got to work on tonight. Maybe tomorrow night if you are free. I apologize. This was an unexpected project.

Rhodes kept murmuring something about me being a cheating SOB. That and since big Johnson''s arrival.....Rhodes has really picked up his game!

What does your schedule look like tomorrow (Thu) night?

Man, where have you been all week?

Tomorrow night I''ll be celebrating St. Patrick''s Day and getting very drunk. Even if I get home at a reasonable time, I won''t be in any state to play a football game.

Trying to catch up on the past few weeks of work - I''ve been sick for weeks now and desperately trying not to fall behind. Staying afloat in grad school, unfortunately, remains a priority over gaming.

If you''re around right now, I guess I can go.

That''s crap.

I can''t stay up for another hour+ for a game. Sorry.

Two games left: Detroit @ Jacksonville and Houston @ Pittsburgh. Man, what''s up at the Rapp household?

I played mine, yo.

And what a battle that was. The score does not show the absolute pounding that both teams got. Each time Domanick Davis was hit I cringed. I once had the balls to run with Carr and nearly freaked out watching the linebackers go headhunting.

The Steelers'' QB, ol'' Benny, got a fracture thigh in the fray, so you guys who have yet to play the Steelers can thank me now.

League advanced to week 11. One game went unplayed.

I''m sorry, Legion. I know you''ve been busy and ill but you didn''t even respond to Warlock until 5 days after his first post. Had this not been an extended week, you might have missed the 5-day deadline without posting at all (though I''m sure that had the deadline been sooner, you probably would have made the effort earlier). Based on the league principles of communication and effort, I have to give the win to Warlock... not that it hurt your #1 ranking (even if you have to share it now).

Grump: That''s fine, I don''t care. It''s hard for me to get my games in lately, and I frankly haven''t really felt like playing. I''ve accumulated enough wins that I can take some luxury losses as necessary.

I''m disappointed, however, that you didn''t just say that I lost the coin toss.

Legion: Grad school''s not worth it. You should focus all of your energies on your NFL2k5 career!

While I sincerely apologize if you think I''m ""making an example"" of you, I was just trying to show/remind people that we do still take the principles of effort and communication seriously. I completely understand about the ""haven''t really felt like playing"" bit, too. No worries and thanks for understanding.

I don''t think that - I think maybe you thought there was sarcasm in there, when I meant none.

I meant to say that you are totally in the right, and just that it would''ve been hilarious, IMO, to feign appeasement to my ""coin toss"" conspiracy theory.

Is it ok if I say that I beat Legion?

Good deal. You know what they say about treading lightly on the Internet... yeah, I don''t either but you know what I mean.

My guess is yes ...but not publicly.

Don''t sweat it Grump. You''s and me''s like fambly, you hear?

Grump[y, I am around today (Saturday). Let me know
