Marvel Puzzle Quest GWJ Alliance?

Yeah, I'd let all my 1 stars go.

That's the only stage of the daily I can complete.

It doesn't strictly need a team, it's just restricted to one stars. On a lark yesterday I completed it with a level one iron man, a ms marvel sonic boom team up, and a team up ap boost. Today's not looking so accommodating however, as the only group damage team upi have left is Thor's, which is a bit too expensive to ensure I'll get it off before Tony bites it.

I got rid of my one stars as well. I do have a ton of coins. Maybe I'll just buy slots and try to do the team skill trick.

Virtua Cop Puzzle Quest

If every time I start the game I'll get to hear the "Seeeee---gaaaa" soundbite I'll be happy.

And if they come up with virtua cop puzzle quest I'll never play it. I'd get motion sick from constantly having to peak over cover to see the board.

But Sega didn't get the rights to Marvel Puzzle Quest in that deal.

Which I find confusing, insomuch as I have no idea what that means for Marvel Puzzle Quest.

Well it's published by d3publisher who are owned by Bandai Namco, which makes me think demiurge has a development only relationship with the game and that d3 holds the rights and licensing relationship with Disney/Marvel.

My best advice for 2-star hero combinations is to get Storm (blue skill maxed) and Magneto (pink skill maxed). Magneto's pink skill lets you place 5 blue tiles, which you can turn into two or more crit tiles using the existing blue tiles. Usually this will give you enough blue tiles to fire off Storm's blue skill, which (when maxed and she's fully leveled) does 1838 damage to the whole team, and stuns the target for 4 turns. Keeping Storm alive long enough to fire off her skill is the hardest part, so bringing someone who does more damage with green than she does will serve you well (a max-level Magneto does more damage with blue than she does).

I'll keep that in mind if I ever get another Magneto card.

Well, a 4* Thor just dropped so I guess I have to stop complaining about not getting drops?

That said, no upgrades for anyone and I'm out of cap space and just spent all my gold on other roster space.

And holy crap, the deadpool daily for the promised character is HARD. Man. I got whomped.

A 4 star Thor... Ooooooh nice. My 2 star Thor is one of my go-to cards for his special powers. I was about to say I'd never seen the 4 star one but I forgot I did have that one. Of course I've only found one of them so she's gotten buried in my roster behind some of my levelled up 3 star cards.

And yeah, the Deadpool daily final fight is a pain. For 3 days solid I've managed to make it to the final wave and then die. Today I got the closest to finishing it with one enemy left at 132 hp's when he killed my Groot.

I had a great day with today's Deadpool daily. All told I ended up with 3 3-star and 1 4-star covers. It almost makes up for the fact that I haven't gotten a gold out of a heroic token in a month or more. I've had really good luck using a Spider-Man/Captain America/(random green/black damager) group, but today I rolled through most of Deadpool with Ares, Magneto, and Storm. The only tip I can give is to try and avoid blazing through the early waves - I was able to milk them for purple and blue so that I can roll into the later waves with nukes and stuns galore, making my lower health less of an issue.

Regarding SEGA and the acquisition:

The acquisition hasn't affected the development of Marvel Puzzle Quest. The same folks are still working on the game. Getting to be a part of Sega Networks just means that there are more smart people that we get to learn from and bounce ideas off - meeting those folks has been the really exciting part for me, and I expect that exchange of ideas to benefit the game.

There's also an interview with Chris Olsen here where he talks about Sega's commitment to MPQ and goes into more detail about the deal:

I had a great night tonight with the final survival node using Mohawk (90), Falcon (151), and El Capitan America (117). There were so many protect tiles out there (I had over 2,000 total protection at one point) that the enemy attacks were inflicting minimal damage. It's always a fine thing to see a Punisher's Retribution deal one damage. ^.^ Meanwhile, Mohawk's board clogging skill meant that the enemy often had nowhere to put its nasty countdown tiles. If it did, Falcon was ready to swoop in with an annoying squawk and take it out with Redwing.

*EDIT* Oh, and for the one-star only node - As the Beatles sang, "All you need is JUGGS!" err, or a variant thereof. I have only one one-star, a level 21, fully covered Juggernaut, and he's been able to handily take down the one star node. Well worth the roster slot for headbutting goodness. Taking along a few good team-ups (Daken Chemical reaction works nicely) helps as well if things get hairy.

I've been blazing through them with my aforementioned 2-star Storm/Magneto combo, and a 3-star Captain America (114). I just focus on taking out countdown tiles and stockpiling blue and red during the minion waves (using Mag's purple skill and Storm's green skill to take out countdown tiles I can't match out since both generate AP). During the character waves I use Storm's blue skill once or twice, and use Cap's red skill to clear out anyone not stunned. Cap's red skill places a countdown tile that returns almost all the red AP it costs to use, and is one turn quicker than how long Storm's stun lasts, so I make matches to build more AP while I wait for it, then re-use whichever is more appropriate.

Halp! The game dropped three 3* covers on me this morning. Cyclops, for finishing top 100 in Lethal Intent, Doctor Doom and Deadpool from recruit tokens. They all look good and I'm out of roster space. Are any of them worth paying money to keep?

I also have a 2* Ms. Marvel, but with that many 3* covers she's not going to make the cut.

What color is the deadpool power?

If it's purple, he gets deadpool points daily. With enough points, upon activating the power, you can just automatically win a match.

But other than that, it's tough choices time.

I'd say they're worth keeping regardless, and to sell off some one stars if you need space. Being able to do the required character missions is really useful for ranking high in the story events.
If you've got both the 2-star and 1-star version of a character, ditch the 1-star, you can't use them at the same time anyway. If you do have to sell off one or more of the 3-stars, keep Doom (particularly if it's his Summon Demons skill).

Roster spots are the only reason I'll spend any actual money. I recently hit 365 consecutive days playing this game. If I spent 20 bucks during a year, I don't feel bad for it. Also, at that point the developers deserve something.

I wish they were duplicates, but they're not. I don't have any duplicate characters.

Deadpool and Cyclops both came with their Black powers. Doom came with his Blue power, which looks really useful for comboing with any of my Black power characters (Luke Cage for example).

I thought about ditching my 1-star characters, but some of them are staples of my roster. Iron Man has been more than pulling his weight. Black Widow I suppose could go, I never use her but she is fully upgraded. I also have 2-star Captain America and Thor who I suppose could go, but I recall someone here saying 2-star Thor is a beast when he's fully built.

I'll check the point prices when I get home. I assume the cost for a roster slot keeps going up, and I'm already at 150 per so even spending money may not get me many slots.

The 2-star Black Widow is much better than the 1-star, so she's not really worth keeping. Definitely keep 2-star Thor and Cap until you have their 3-star versions with high enough skills to take over. Thor is a beast, and while Cap doesn't do as much damage, his blue and red skilled when maxed let you overwrite enemy countdown tiles in addition to the damage and stun they do. His protection skill's also pretty useful, though Bullseye's is better.

I'm at 45 slots, and it hasn't gone up higher than 600 per slot for the last few, so I think that might be the price cap.

Fully levelled 2* Cap is a beast once you get the blue and red powers rocking. Particularly against foot soldiers who don't get a turn matching. I've had 5 red countdowns and 2 blue countdowns on the board at once, providing me endless more AP to set up more of them. Level the blue and red powers over yellow.

If I ever get more covers for him, I'll keep this in mind. Doesn't seem to be much choice in the matter though, you get what the game gives you.

Until you hit the level cap, then you can start trading out.

So if you hit level cap with 5 yellow, 3 red, 5 blue, and then you get another red cover, you can switch one out for 4Y, 4R, 5B

I'm at 45 as well. I'm unsure what I'm going to do as the cost of slots is going to be prohibitive compared to the number of characters that are coming out.

Yup. I just threw $20 at them to bump out my roster. I had too many 3* characters with a single cover.

It does feel like they've upped the number of higher level covers that drop though, I'm getting more now and managing to build up my dudes. Slowly.

I just bumped my roster up 2:

Juggernaut (I had no 1* characters) and 2* Ms. Marvel.

I hate that Ms. Marvel costume but I had 7 covers for her, most of which were due to expire. I had enough Juggernaut covers to max him out (so I did). I feel pretty good about that.

The only characters I have in my queue now are 3*s Magneto and Squirrel Girl. I'm not big on either but I have 5 more days to make 100g more to buy more spaces.

Edit: I want to note that I resisted referring to Juggernaut as "Juggs" because I didn't want to look like a creeper. I really hate that Ms. Marvel costume.

This is what I get for not keeping up with this thread. I have been playing for months now and had no idea I could sell off old players. I've sold 2- and 3* drops because I didn't have any room to add more characters and the next slot was taking me 350 gold. *sigh*

So hey! Just cleared out my pending queue of "hope I get enough cash" 2 and 3 stars!
