2005 NCAA BBall Tourney Pickem

Anyone interested in yet another bracket to fill out?

Perhaps a gentlemanly wager involved? Let the discussion begin!

I might be down with it depedning on the wager.

I think there is an echo in here.

There''s that echo again!

Actually, I don''t care if there''s a wager or not. Boasting rights (or more likely, lack thereof) is enough for me.

I don''t think anyone has set one of these up yet, so here ya go.

And braggin rights would be fine with me.

*edit* just checked my yahoo email and it appears that you use the group ID# to join, so I added that above.

I''m in!

Might want to post a link to this in general too, a lot of people don''t check the sports forum regularly.

Slim Pickens is in da house.

Well, I finished my picks...

We''ll see how they turn out.

Picks in question: Syracuse to the Final 4? Wake to win?

I''m in. I''m not sure if I''m going to stick with my initial bracket, though...

I think I''m done with my picks, little unsure of my final 4, I normally like to have a 3 or 4 seed, and as it stands now its all 1 and 2s.

Upsets: I have one 14 seed, two 12s, two 11s, if you can count 11 seeds as real upsets.

I have in the final four 2 1 seeds, a #2 Seed and a #11 seed.

I have Illinois beating Uconn in the final game.

I have Illinois beating Uconn in the final game.

I don''t think Illinois will go all the way. They''ve been playing well, granted, but I don''t think they''ll have the juice to make the long haul.

I picked Wake Forest over North Carolina.

I don''t know, I''ve got some hope for Illinois to do well this year. Plus I just don''t want Uconn to win it all.

I have Wake Forest losing to UCLA in the Sweet Sixteen.

I agree with Warlock, not sold on Illinois or Big Ten for that matter. 2 Big Ten teams in my sweet sixteen, none in final four.

Championship game: UNC over OK St.

I want UConn out in the Elite 8. If it''s Syracuse (who I have picked to go to the Final Four - long-ish shot, I know) I think they can do it - not like they didn''t in the conference Semis.

EDIT: One more thing.

Are you Krazy, Taco? UCLA won''t even beat Texas Tech... I''ll look forward to seeing what they do in the next few years, though, with all those freshmen.

NC over Wake in the final game for me. I think a lot of people''s boards will be similar this year, it''s pretty balanced...

Ah, so you think eh? We shall see. We shall see. Call it what you like, but I have a feeling they may suprise you. Then of course they may lose first round.

Second game of the day done and I''ve already got my first loss... and it''s my Alma Mater to boot.

Four games done and my father''s old employer (Pittsburgh) goes down. Not that I had them going to the sweet 16 or anything...

Yeah, I had Pacific... but, UWM screwed a bunch of us. Hopefully they get beat by BC in the next round.

Congrats to those of you who picked them over Alabama - you ESP-having bastages.

I picked two twelve seeds, UWM not inculded, which pretty much guarantees that I will only get one of my other twelve seed picks right tops. I had Pitt, but 8-9 games are real toss ups (insightfull huh?) but hopefully that doesnt do real damage.

All right gents, the daytime games are done. Anyone go 8-0 (kudos if you did)? 7-1 here. How about you?

I got 8-0. I told you I knew what I was doing. Do not question my methods when it comes to College Basketball.

I don''t care enough to fill out a whole bracket, but damned if I''m not a little excited to see how crazy things get around here for the UC/UK game on saturday

Ditto on the 7-1. I was worried for Nevada. Hell, I was worried for Gonzaga for awhile. But, I think I did fine for the first rounds.

Definitely no bracket busters like, say, if Wake Forest would have lost.

EDIT: Krazy, hate to break it to ya, but according to the pool, you picked Utah St. over Arizona.

I actually had Winthrop over the Zags, so close but no cigar on my big upset, also just missed on Creighton. Most importantly all of my sweet sixteen picks are alive and well.

Good grief. 14-2 on day one but I couldn''t have picked the two upsets even if I knew they would happen (but I honestly I had my suspicions). Alabama is my Alma Mater and I''m from/in Louisiana (LSU). Yeesh. At least I had them both losing in round 2.

Yeah, I had LSU going to the Sweet Sixteen. So that''s a bit of a bracket buster. Of course, the team I picked to win could be the biggest bracket buster of them all, so we shall see how the games end up.

EDIT: Oh. I had LSU going to the Elite Eight. WTF. What was *I* thinking?

Also, anyone know why some of the standings haven''t updated? I''m in first according to the site, but there are 6 or 7 of us who show up with 0 points... weird.

My score shows 0, any idea why? According to my picks I went 12-4 for the first day. Luckily none of my losses I had making it past the 2nd round! We''ll see what happens today...
