MLB 2k5 $14.99 at Circuit City 3/6/05

For anyone who hasn't taken the plunge yet... it seems like most reviewers are saying the 2K5 version is WORSE than the EA one, but is it $35 BETTER? I don't think so...

Now I just have to take the plunge and sign up for LIVE one of these days...

Wow, $15 for a new game. I... I think I''m gonna cry.

My resistance is gone. I''m gonna have to pick this up now.

And definitely sign up for Live. Playing with random people isn''t much fun for me, but having this community is great for stuff like this (since I can''t get my friends around here to play much other than Halo 2 slayer over and over again).

It''s definitely been an amazing year for the ESPN 2K5 sports lineup... I just don''t think the same love will be there without ESPN OR the NFL license next year. On top of that, I have a feeling they are going to experience some backlash when they raise their prices back up from the $19.99 we''ve all come to love and expect...

If you like baseball, and if you like playing with the GWJ guys in a leahue setting, this game should be a no brainer at that price.

A clear win for us... not so clear for the SO. How many games would be played in the league? I think a full schedule would be an automatic divorce for me...

I played with the league, the most you can set for is 42. That would take probably 50 weeks to play. Depending on how many people that can COMMITT to one game a week, I''d think 2, maybe 3 games against each opponent would be ideal, but at least 2 games per. So It would depend on the number of serious players we get. And by serious I mean nothing at all to do with skill level. Just about playing your weekly games and having fun.

Phew! Had me worried there for a minute Swampy.

No way Psycho. Your selfless committment to the train wreck known as the Cleveland Browns guarantees you a seat in any league I am putting together!

42 games?

Thats the max. I would WANT 3 games against each opponent (it''s baseball after all). The Certis says I''m nuts, we can''t get football games played once per opponent. BUt I''m a dreamer. Nothing but a dreamer..

Oh you definitely are a freakin dreamin nuts!

Swampy, you can hardly commit to speaking full sentences when playing online, I''m not sure you could handle a 43 week season.

Well, that''s only if.....only if......only if.....

Is anyone else able to find a copy of this game for the xbox?

I went to BEST BUY, CIRCUIT CITY, and WAL-MART last night and NONE of these stores had copies of the MLB2K5 game for xbox... for PS2, yes... many copies, but bupkiss for the box.

I asked a BB guy and he claimed thay hadn''t gotten any yet. Is this true? Has anyone picked up this game somewhere other than EB?

I bought mine at Circuit City, SommerMatt.

I had a really hard time finding one up here in the Tundra but I''ve finally managed to.

STAY AWAY FROM IT!

Just have to vent a bit... I tried to check if the local Circuit City had a copy by telephone, and the person I had to deal with just seemed too dumb to even understand my question. She came back with one copy of ESPN Baseball 2004 for $29.99. This is why I don''t go to Circuit City-- I always end up feeling like I''m dealing with slimy, dumb people hoping that you''re dumb enough to believe what they have to say.

At any rate, the local Gamestop has ten dozen (well... five) copies in stock, so I guess I''ll just head over there.

man... why are my local stores coming up empty? Could it be that demand was so high they simply sold out? Seems really odd to me.
