Krev vs cancer

I'm renewing my good vibes. Will be thinking of you and yours until we hear more. Good wishes, all around.

Good luck, Krev!

I'll be thinking of you on Saturday (you know, because of the time differences and stuff )

Seriously though, best of luck dude, sounds like your medical team has you covered in terms of diligence and focus.

Positive vibes coming your way, dude.

Good vibes were shipped. You should be getting them today around 2.

As promised... Good vibes today. Thinking about you!

Just got back home safe, surgery went as well as brain surgery can and once I got over the initial anesthesia hangover I’ve been in good shape with none of the nasty pains or discomforts experience during my first surgery.

The surgeon was able to get enough for the biopsy, the initial suspicion is that it is abnormal but it will be 2-3 weeks to confirm and then I’ll follow up with my surgeon in 4-6 weeks and my medical oncologist at some point to figure out where to go from here if needed.

Chemo is no fun but I’ve done it before and I’ll tackle it again if that’s the way things need to go, take it as it comes. For now I’m here, alive and otherwise incredibly healthy, grateful for another day.

Thanks so much for all the well wishing and support!

Great news - hope your recovery goes quickly and smoothly, krev.

Was very happy to see the word "Success" added to this post! Krev, you're positive outlook is inspirational.

Very good to hear.

So happy to hear this! I've been thinking about you all weekend.

Very glad to hear the good news, Krev. Crossing fingers and toes that they finally got it.

Very good to hear, Krev. Take it easy and we'll see where this goes. Hopefully to a happy place.

Yikes, that'll really make you anxious, eh?

Glad things went as well as they could. As someone who has been under once when I had my wisdom teeth out, I can't say I've ever had an "anesthesia hangover" so much as a HOLY sh*t I LOVE EVERYTHING AND I CAN'T STOP TALKING AND TALKING hangover.

Congrats, krev! Very happy to hear you got through it.

Great news, Krev!

Biopsy confirms the initial suspicions that it was recurrence (grade 3 ologioastrocytoma) so it's off to the medical oncol. at some point soonish to discuss the chemo plan, sounds like it will probably be the same drug as my first go.

I know the reality is, having just turned 32, I'll be lucky to see 35 and extremely lucky to see 40. However I also know that despite two brain surgeries I'm still fully functioning . I know I'm here now and still able, I know that aside from the brain cancer I otherwise have the vitals of an extremely healthy teenager - so bring forth the chemo, let's do this thing. Cancer can f*ck right off, I'm not done yet.

Right the f*ck on, Krev. Any of us can die. You're kicking ass at living.

Kick it's ass. I bet my whole steam account that you will make at least 70!! And once you've made it to 70, I will gift you Half Life 3

Thinking of you, Krev.

Show it who's boss, krev!

Latest mri showed some slight regrowth in the same spot, looking at the last few mris it seems to be fairly slow growing thankfully.

We're getting pretty close to the central brain so my medical oncologist suspects they're not likely to be willing to operate or do radiation at this point. We'll try a different type of chemo starting mid next month as she suspects the tumour cells have likely adapted to temozomolide by now., on the plus side the stuff we're changing to is only one dose of pills every six weeks.

She still won't really discuss it with me but I've read enough to know that these are likely my final years, and possibly my final months. Nonetheless I intend to keep on going so long as my brain allows me to, fight the good fight even in the face of certain defeat - valhalla awaits me.

I continue my humble request; don't take these precious moments for granted, it may seem cliché but however long you have will have flashed by before you know what hit you - enjoy it.
