(Trio, if you count the pooch)

Can't forget their modern incarnation in The Thrilling Adventure Hour.

MeatMan is indirectly nominating himself as the best detective.

At this point, I'm just adding whatever I can think of that hasn't been posted, regardless of how "good" I think the detective is.

Spoiler:

I also did not finish LA Noire, but not specifically due to Phelps.

Well that's just, like, your opinion.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!

What songs have the most recognizable first couple of notes?

One of my favorite songs ever (and my phone's ringtone):
IamX's "Your Joy, My Low"

Obvious

Good one Mantid.

I'm stretching it a bit here to "intro to song".

EDIT: sh*t, Grenn! I knew I was missing a more obvious answer.

DOUBLE EDIT: Ooo, thought of a better one:

Yeah, the Star Wars theme hardly need more that one note (well one note from an orchestra).

The 5th... *sigh* Let me preface this by saying that I adore Beethoven, and that he's my favorite composer (although he's neck and neck with Prokofiev). But I'm just soooo tired of those four bloody notes.

It's so weird that my brain went for that weird song hardly anyone knows, when there were so many obvious choices.

Hmm, this is highly relative. Proven by the fact that the very first reply contains a song that I've never heard, so what's recognizable to some may be completely unrecognizable to others.

As further proof, my answer is a song that's likely to have never been heard by plenty of people, but because metal is my music type of choice, the first 4 notes of this song will always be instantly recognizable for me.

That somehow became my go-to "random noise making" song. So if I'm doing random chores around the apartment I might just start going "WAH!....WAH-WAH-WAAAAAH!" and then proceeding to do the whole opening.

So yes, very recognizable first couple of notes!

I'm playing Closer and Mario at the same time. Kinda interesting. Doesn't really work.

Mine will probably go well with anything.
