Baseball, baseball...BASEBALL!

Aww yeah. Spring training next week and MVP 2005 and MLB 2K5 hit xbox today. $50 for both games...bless you take2, bless you and your cutthroat pricing.
Is there a consensus as to what the folks 'round these parts will be playing? I'll be trying them both out in between zombie halo time tonight and will be ready for some quality baseball tomorrow night. Anyone else picking these up soon?

Impressions later when I've played them both a bit.

Oh. The 20$ ESPN party is already over?

I am getting ESPN tonight. $20 at EB.

Oh. The 20$ ESPN party is already over?

$50 for BOTH games. MVP is $29.99

Each game comes with your choice of either ''the clear'' or ''the cream.''

No andro?

The clear is better for sure. My thumbs will be HHHUGE!

MLB2K5: Commentary better with Joe Morgan. No more matchstick bats! Kzone pitching not as bad as I thought. You can turn off slam-zone when selecting ''real baseball'' as the play style (thank god). Game looks very, very good. Seems to play well too. Hitters couldnt catch up with Randy Johnsons fastball and kept pulling everything down the third base line.
Sorry for the sentence fragments.

I like it. I agree with SquirrelMonkey. A lot of balls seem to go down either the third base or first base line. But so far I am impresseed. I love the pitching interface, which is what I loved about MVP - that it took more that hitting the button one to throw.

Graphics are pretty impressive too. So whose the commissioner going to be?

ummm.... yeah... MVP 2005 is $29.99 as already stated and MLB 2k5 is $19.99.

I wont be picking up either right now, maybe I''ll get MLB later on when I get around to it. Right now I''m playing GT4... yes I''m a Gran Turismo whore, and yes I suck, but EA can grab every copy of MVP and every other sports title they''ve made and go f*ck themselves.

I think I would actually pay money to see that.

Anyway, played some MVP last night too. Still plays a pretty good game, although I think the pitching is harder this year. Am I crazy or do they STILL not have base coaches? I know it doesnt effect gameplay one iota but they have said for the past two years that they were going to put them in. Also, the online RANKED games can only be played at a length of FIVE innings?! I was blown away by this. That''s not baseball my friends, thats speedball.

EA is teh suck

The ESPN online leagues are so much better at this point, if you want to play in an online league there is no choice IMHO.

See the other thread on commissioner/league issues, but we should probably play for awhile and discuss settings before we commit to any hard league decisions.

I''d be very interested in a GWJMLBL but I worry about the time commitment. That said, I call Johan Santana!
