That sounds like a blast! Do your best and banish those brainweasles that will try to diminish your accomplishment. This is one awesome step on your journey to live a healthier life. Good work in taking that step.

A happy maintain for me this week. I know next week is going to be a rough one for me. My wife is out of town, so there will be a lot of temptation to not eat things that are good for me. And with Destiny out, it's a good week to not go to the gym as much as I might normally. Wish me luck!

Again with my efforts here - 6'0" and 243lbs is much too heavy. All I have to do is keep up my food diary in MyFitnessPal and the weight comes off... easier said than done.

One thing I've noticed is if I have a day that goes over, I just abandon the calorie counting and have another snack/beer. As if "welp, screw it I've failed for today anyway" is an OK thing to think.

We all falter, it's not giving up that matters. Give yourself a cheat day, but plan it out, don't turn a normal day into a cheat just because you went over your calorie limit some. Another thing I've found is bulky, low calorie snacks really help. Carrots, celery, etc.. make you feel full without all the calories. Handful of peanuts, 180 calories, handful of carrots 50... I bet the carrots make me feel fuller than the peanuts (although, I will admit peanuts can taste really, really good). Sometimes you have to tell yourself, "This doesn't taste as good as X, but I know it's better for me and will help me achieve long term goals instead of short term satisfaction."

I love peanuts, though I try to buy the ones that are not shelled, as the extra work tends to make me eat less of them.

Got a nature box subscription last week. Curious to see how those snacks stack up to my favorites.

A lot of podcasts I listen to have mentioned naturebox. The question I have is where the snacks fall in terms of calories. A lot of snacks marketed as being "healthy" are actually quite caloric (even if they are otherwise nutritious).

Sounds like a lot of nuts and dried fruit from what I recall from Idle Thumbs, Bombcast, etc... Good stuff, but can be very calorie dense.

Well, I'll give 'em a shot for two months and re-evaluate once my promotion wears off. If they aren't great, I can always offload 'em onto friends and family.

I'm all for moderation... if they're good, tasty and no preservatives, as long as you know what's in them, you can adjust the amount you consume.

"4.4" pounds this week.
Last week's weigh in was definitely bad data. I certainly didn't truly lose 4+ this week, but I'm very glad off the forward progress.

6 weeks from my goal and I need 13.4 pounds to get there. I need to redouble my efforts. I've been slacking and it shows.

Rough week :\

I quit eating after dinner, made a good difference and got me back on schedule. I'm going to go ahead and push for 190. I'm also having Indian buffet for lunch and pizza for dinner today... I may set myself back some.

Mmmm, naan and curry.

Bunch of co-workers went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch. I resisted the boneless mango habanero wings. I didn't have them budgeted in my calories for today. I went with the naked tenders (with Chipotle BBQ rub) and a salad with light vinaigrette.

It ended up being way fewer calories than I had budgeted.

I'm hungry an hour later.

Weight is finally moving again. Being told you're gaining muscle and losing fat because fat % is one thing...but the scale makes me feel better.

Height 185cm (6'1")
Starting Weight: 120kg (6/6/2014 - 264 lbs)
Today's Weight: 109.4 kg (9/19/2014 - 240.7 lbs)
Target Date/Weight: 100kg (12/25/2015 - 220 lbs)

Talking with the nutritionist, she thinks I'll make my target in terms of weight lost, but with muscle gained I'll still probably be 102 or 103 at Christmas. I can live with that if the other measurements keep going down well.

Anyone doing the runkeeper apps challenge?

Track 50kms in 30 days on the GPS? I'm already at 7.2kms completed in 2 days...

Yeah, real bad week for me. Really fell off the wagon. Between my wife being out of town, the Cedar Rapids S&T, and a whole bunch of other stuff, I a) ate too much, b) ate like crap and c) didn't go to the gym AT ALL. I really need to get back on top of this. And this week I will.

Surprised I maintained despite all the trash I've been eating.

Hm. Up about two pounds over the last three weeks. I'm really not a fan of that.

6 pounds this week? 6?!?! Really?

I'm not sure I really want to trust the scale this morning.

I feel like I did well this week, but not 6 pounds well. I had been neglecting MyFitnessPal, so I got back on the bandwagon this week 5.5 of 7 days and that helped a ton.

That leaves me with 7.4 to lose in the next 5 weeks to hit my goal. That's a very achievable 1.5/week. I'm trying not to get my hopes too far up. I will not be disappointed if I don't lose or hardly lose next week, as I don't truly trust these results.

Thank God it's still going. I was stuck at same wait for basically a month despite following all of my program without cheating.
I will definitely take losing 0.8kg (1.75 lbs) this week.

Naan and Pizza, plus some evening eating didn't do this body any good... Back to it!

Well, there goes those four lbs. from last week. Now, its time to get off that plateau and start losing again.

Starting Weight: 270 lbs (08/25/2012)

Back in the saddle. I'm up ~8 pounds since the first time I posted in this thread (years ago), and I need to refocus on goals. Again.

Height: 5'5"
Starting Weight: 164.5 (2014-09-30)
Current Weight: 164.5 (2014-09-30)
Target Weight: 145 (2015-03-06 [My birthday])
Short-term: 25% of goal (under 160) by November 1st.

This is going to be slow and steady. I'm hoping incremental changes will be easier. And I'll have to get back to logging calories.
