Fight Night 2 on Xbox

This years version to have Live support. Anyone else interested in maybe a boxing league :)?

This needs to happen. Not because i''ll be involved, but because I need to hear about Swampy screaming and ranting at people like Clubber Lang on Live. Between that, the alcohol, and the ragdoll physics when someone gets KOed, I sense comedy gold.

One question. Will this league require us to wear pants?

You see Boxers wearing pants? Did Jake Lamotta wear pants? No, of course not. Shorts are optional, sweat is mandatory, as are flashy ring entrances.

I think you can wear Boxers - hardee har har - aarrrghhhh!

I refuse to just come in and say f*ck EA.

Yeah, yeah get over it - they are like MS - get used to it. They occasionally put out some quality games so hush and get your gloves on.

Spy, where the hell do you find the time?

Has the pentagon built some sort of time slowing machine?

Then again if I stopped playing EQ2 I might get some of my life back...

Bingo!

I''ve played last year''s game quite a bit and I loved it. This one looks even better, not even counting the online support that should be pretty sh*tty considering EA''s last efforts, but it''ll be better than nothing anyway.

I''d be in!

The first game only had like 2-3 fighting styles! I hope they at least fix that. I still say Hajime no Ippo was better. Boxing a mountain bear and living with the scar on your chest = win.

I have to carefully balance my EQ2 time Karma, plus after working for long stretches I get some time off.

I''m in, I love the game...

Excellent Smithers er Lester.... Lets see what they give us for online play and maybe we can do a league thing with a World Champion bout kind of thing.

When does this game hit stores?

I''m thinking I''m likely in too.

March 1st

I''ve got it and it''s fantastic! The graphics were updated and the cutman part is really cool.
I''m not a big fan of the ""EA Haymaker,"" but whatever, if someone wants to play toss me a message!

I''ve got it too and I''ve started a thread in the sports section. Go check it out!

Oh, and just ignore the hippies.

Oh its out - damn I didnt see it when I was at EB last night.

I picked it up a bit ago. Haven''t put it in and checked it out yet.

After our game I want to punch you like you are a clone of Certis :).

Well there''s no need for that now is there

Sure there is I hold long grudges - beatings for Swampy, Certis, JMJ, Grumpicus, and Legion - oh yes big manly beatdowns with red gloves on.

Fight Night''s pretty cool.

I''m currently undefeated in my career at 5-0-0, but once you start your own career you''ll figure out that''s no biggie. I dropped the guy in the fifth fight to the mat 30 seconds into the first round. I caught him with a special punch that you sort of rotate your whole body with and put some momentum behind, and I happened to catch him with it dead center in the face while he was trying to throw another punch. Put him right on the floor. Finished him off in the second round.

I haven''t been in a fight past the third round yet, except for the plain old matches I played before I started the career. Those typically took four rounds because of the fully upgraded characters and all.

I have this one coming via gamefly-- should be here in a week or so. Is it pretty similar to the first one?

On my purchase list for the weekend. Then you can beat on me Thin :).

I have one on the way from GameFly too. Always up for a beating. Are the boxong leagues built-in? Never played a boxing league before.

I ended up mildly addicted. I got the Amateur Championship Belt last night, and went through 4 more fights in the Professional circuit. They actually got easier when I hit the Pros. I''m not sure if I like that or not, but it''s still so early on in the game I''m holding off judgement. I did KO two of the four in the first round though.

Mind you.. my character I made is a Light Heavyweight, while most of the guys the game is putting me up against right now look like middlweight fighters at best, some of them I know couldn''t have been more than welterweight.

The last fight I won, I essentially finished using only two kinds of punches. Once I manage to get them into a rythm, the guy just gets wasted. I know this isn''t the case against larger more experienced fighters, as I played one against Muhammed Ali with a heavyweight character that I made, and it was outrageously difficult. I did win, but it took 9 rounds and lots of dodging to pull it off.

The champ is here!!

I picked this up too. I have played quite a bit (got a career fighter up to about #18), I think the haymaker punches are busted.

Let''s get a tourney started!

If you mean ""too powerful"" then I would likely agree with you.

I can win most matches using haymakers almost exclusively.

That''s exactly what I mean. I pwn the comp with haymakers.

Funny story for those who have played the career mode. I thought you had to COLLECT $10,000 to go pro. So I was fighting all the am fights earning $300 to $500 bucks a pop, thinking to myself ""this is going to take forever"". Much to my surprise you actually GET $10,000 when you go pro. I think that is a little counter-intuitive.

Yup, they dropped the ball with that feature.
