Donation Drive '07 - Multiple Choice Is Just More Fun

Section:

Every year we come to you for two weeks asking for your contributions in helping us continue operating Gamerswithjobs.com, and we hope that the service, content and community we provide throughout the year justifies the request. We take great efforts to make GWJ an uncommon home, even a safe haven, on the internet where we can talk without suffering the usual antics that become so tedious elsewhere. We provide you with articles by talented writers, discover and cultivate new talent and bring you the quality of written word that is sought by the most respected publications in the industry. We bring you a weekly podcast with increasing quality of on-site reports from places like Gencon and Comicon as well as interviews and special guests discussing the finer points of the gaming industry. We run game servers, organize community events, strictly moderate our forums and make constant and consistent effort to create an adult environment for adult gamers. So, we come along once a year, for two weeks, and ask for whatever contribution you think Gamerswithjobs.com is worth. Oh, and we give away prizes too.

So, enough of why you should support GWJ, and on to what you will get by supporting GWJ. We have quite a bit to giveaway this year, but our Grand Prize is up to you. This year, you pick your grandprize from the following choice:

Grand Prize: An Xbox 360 - OR - A Playstation 3 - OR - A Nintendo Wii - OR - A GeForce 8800 GTS

Comments

I think there are Golden TPS Reports for the 5-year doners. Donars. Doners.. hmmm.. I know there are some nice things up there, but that PSP is calling out to me...

Sigh.. online deposits take so long, yet online debits are immediate..

Thanks for another great year of goodjery.

More syntactically correct might be: every person who contributes $10 or more will be included in the prize drawing.

Yeah, that does it. I apologize for making a stink over a small clarification. Do I get any leeway for being on pain medication at the time?

Paypal donation sent.

Hugs and finger butts all around. Which is rare for me. I'm usually not into hugging.

Edit: I just graduated to "Executive" with this post, so I'd just like to say that it's entirely fitting and brings a tear to my eye that it should be during a donation drive and in the midst of all this girly mushy emotional stuff.

Golden Finger -> Butt

I just sent 10 bucks and the supplementary email.

Hmm, I guess the icon isn't instantaneous...

Once we have a big, healthy list list I'll be doing the first raft of icons. It's a complicated process

Absolutely to whine and all, but could next year have some miniprize for us non-Americanos? Not an Xbox780 or DSWowisthisthinglite or anything, but something risk free (mail wise) like a game or I dunno. You know, like not for the prize itself but more to get that anxious giddy feeling whenever the draw is erm... drawing near?

Not that a lack of prizemajiggies will stop me from donating, though. Bring on the wiener bomb next year! After that, no more monies from me :-D

Add one more to to the non-US choir looking for some love.

Your pleas have been heard. I think we can swing the grand prize and second prize for our friends in Europe. If your region has an Amazon.com of some sort, you're good to go! The games and other smaller prizes are still no-go, unfortunately.

Woot! So i have a chance of winning?! Cool!

[edit] Hell, if i win i'll even pay half the cost...

Done/sent. I'm not going to forget this year.

*Sits and waits for his watch*

Sweet!

Now, what else can we make him do.....

I finally have a gold wiener!! Bye bye old watch.

Can I just walk over to Certis' and slip him a $20?

Remember, a lapdance is always better when the stripper is crying... and Certis cries so so well...

In all seriousness though, I sent a donation through paypal. If it wasn't for the new iPods announced yesterday I would have donated more!

Just out of curiosity, which model 8800 is this? 320MB or 640MB?

Donated, and e-mail sent. Thanks making for an awesome place on the web.

640MB.

I can't believe that I just sent $75! Thanks for the great community, podcast, and articles. I have never donated to anything before.

Donation away - sorry I missed last year. Tough to do certain things when you are deployed. Shipboard internet blows :). anyhow hopefully this makes up for last year.

Sent. For the record, this is the first time I've ever donated money to a free site. Just goes to show how much I respect you guys and how happy I am to call this place my only home on the internets.

Done/sent/ditto

Well, last year at this time, I didn't know if I would stick around the site, so i skipped the donation, but GWJ has been good to me. Donation sent.

We're honored guys, we really are. Seeing all support and comments from people who've never felt compelled to pitch in to a website before means more than you could imagine. It's like a reassurance for us that we're still on the right track.

Well I still think you're jerks. Jerks who now have my money.

Like jerks.

Just so you know, I had to choose between donating to NPR or GWJ (since the glut of games coming out is stretching my budget.)

GWJ won.

I'd never even used Paypal before, let alone given money to a "free" website.

Paypal donation in.

As always, great job GWJ staff.

Electronic money sent. Here's to another glorious year.

Added my drop to the bucket. Long live the Goodge!

In for one! woot!

So not only is this a massive donation run for GWJ it's a massive PayPal sign up time also.
Funny that.
