Android Games Catch-All

I'm still playing and enjoying Pixel Dungeon.

Thanks for the recommendation, GWJers.

Give it a try if you're up for a rogue-like.

Blood Bowl is out on Android.

Anyone know if it has asynchronous mp?

If it does, I'd be down for some games.

Edit:

*The base game enables you to play Humans and Orcs: the other races are available from the in-game store.

So pay for a game, then pay more to get different teams. I wonder what else is behind pay walls...

The free game dice come with two threes and no sixes. /s

Lol. I can believe it.

Is Assassin's Creed Pirates a good game? It's on sale for a dime.

Bunch of other games on sale too.

Thinking about Ninja Village as I enjoyed most of the other Kairosoft games I've tried.

Also FF V for half price, although I'm not sure I want that now. But that's probably as cheap as it will get.

Monument Valley comes up regularly as one of the best android games, though I haven't played it myself.

Steve Jackson's Sorcery! is the Amazon freebie today! It's a great, polished game.

I'll definitely jump on that! I've heard it's great, but probably too short for $5. I was hoping to pick it up for $2, and $0 is less than that!

It won't install for me, for some reason. Just keeps failing.

Crap, I missed it. Stupid work keeping me busy.

That wasn't what I was hoping for at all.

How is Chrono Trigger on Android, if anyone has it? I have a Nexus 10 and am looking for some entertainment for an upcoming trip (about 12 hours traveling, and I can't sleep on any form of transport). I also see many Final Fantasy version available, but that series has never really grabbed me on other platforms - still willing to give it a try if it's worth it.

Any other story type RPGs I can get lost in for a few hours at a time? Alternatively, how janky are the SNES emulators that are out there? That way I could just play Zelda

Dragon Quest VIII works really well, I'm not even vaguely a JRPG guy but picked it up for the heck of it and enjoyed it.

New Humble Mobile bundle.

Elise Infinity
Duet Premium
Combo Crew Special Edition

More than the average gets you:

Threes!
Mines of Mars
Joe Dever's Lone Wolf

And there's soundtracks.

I've played several hours of the first Zenonia and that's pretty good. I also highly, highly recommend Bard's Tale (that one actually includes the old school Bard's Tale games, which I haven't tried yet). As far as emulators go, I have SNESDroid installed, but I've used it very little. What I've used a ton of is the "My Boy!" GBA emulator, and I highly recommend it. The free version doesn't let you load snapshots, so you are limited to whatever the same system of the game you are playing is (you can still save them though, to load after you upgrade). You can speed up the game by a bit with the free version, but the paid lets you adjust it by more. I don't know what the rules on multiplayer are for the Free version, but in the paid version you can do multiplayer over the internet (which I haven't tried) or locally on the device.

I played a ton of Pokemon on my phone, and I don't know if I can ever go back. Put the game on 2x or even 4x speed as a matter of course, up to 10x when I am grinding or breeding, easily tab between my RubyRed and LeafGreen game to trade pokemon between them, so nice. Really, it's just the speed. Normal speed pokemon is sooooooo slllooooooooooooooooooooowwwww now.

I've never understood Pokemon, so I doubt I will venture into any of that. I'll check out Zenonia and Dragon Quest VIII. I think I already have -a- Bard's Tale game from a humble bundle of yonder past. I'll need to check that out. I also already have Ticket to Ride and Monopoly for some board game action, and was contemplating Minecraft Pocket Edition for some mindless tunneling (although going to that from heavily modded PC Minecraft may be hard). It's only £5 though. Ideally I'd also have a Civilization type of game. Sadly, Freeciv's UI is just too headbashing to use, but then, maybe I should give it another chance also. I'm not the best flyer, so I'm hoping to jump between various game/game types to keep my mind occupied.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

For some reason, I didn't realize Ticket to Ride was out for android.
If you're interested, I might be persuaded to grab that and play some rounds with you.

Further to the Myboy emu, theres DS emu called Drastic on the play store. I've bought it for my 2012 Nexus 7 as it saves carrying two devices around. It runs very smoothly on the Nexus so I'd imagine a more powerful tablet would have no problem running it.

Wouldn't recommend it on a phone because of the screen size but you may like it. There's a free demo to try if your not sure.

A good feature for me as I've got 30hour+ saves on my DS for some games (especially RPGs) there's a cheat engine prebuilt with codes for most games so grinding in Pokemon went from 100+ battles to a few with 2x or 4x or 8x Exp boost.

Edit: Just to be clear, this isn't a 3DS emu, just original DS.

Oh now that is interesting. I hadn't considered going for a newer handheld emu. How easy is it to convert the ds games into roms? What are the ds Zelda games like?

As for TTR, I tend not to game on my tablet unless I'm out of the house, and therefore disconnected. Might be persuaded though, but I'm not much of a challenger at the game :p

Looks like Dragon Quest IV was released yesterday.

Weird that they'd bother to port it to an obscure platform like the iPhoen, which I'm assuming is a North Korean iPhone knockoff.

This is a fabulous thread. There's so much good in here. I second pixel dungeon, its such a good game. I play that and 2048 the most.

Been playing a lot of Trials Frontier on my n7 lately. Even with the uplay tie in and the free to play model, it really isn't bad. Have yet to hit any real pay barrier and its "spend fuel to race - wait or pay for it to recharge" system hasn't bothered me because by the time I run out of fuel I am ready to quit playing. As for the gameplay it isn't perfect but I like the story setup and the boost+tilt dual thumb action feels good to me.
