Star Realms

Pages

Star Realms is a spaceship combat deck-building game by Magic Hall of Famers Darwin Kastle and Rob Dougherty (Ascension Co-founder).

Star Realms is a fast paced deck-building card game of outer space combat. It combines the fun of a deck-building game with the interactivity of Trading Card Game style combat. As you play, you make use of Trade to acquire new Ships and Bases from the cards being turned face up in the Trade Row from the Trade Deck. You use the Ships and Bases you acquire to either generate more Trade or to generate Combat to attack your opponent and their bases. When you reduce your opponent’s score (called Authority) to zero, you win!

SN spreadsheet

lol - I was about to propose a new thread for this, and here it is. Will the first post be updated with player names? I'm thinking of springing for the full version, because I beat the free campaign and loved it.

EDIT: Damnit - that was fast on a spreadsheet!

I think I was making it as you were typing your post.

Fellow refugee from the Android Games thread.

ThingumBob on Star Realms. I can tell already that I'm going to get tired of losing to Fedaykin...

So...best strat against Blob?

Spreadsheet is editable now.

Hey awesome! I had no idea that we had an active Star Realms community here. Username is RiverRatMatt, looking forward to some new challengers!

damn I am going to download this right now.

Must be my eyesight going in my old age Any ETA on the iOS version? Someone said it's in cert, how long does that usually take?

I put IOS in the spreadsheet because I heard the same thing. Hopefully it's true. Maybe it should be removed?

I think the average iOS cert is 2 weeks. It ebbs and flows with the volume of submissions. That's assuming it doesnt fail for any reason. The Android app seems to be pretty high quality but its 1.0 did have a crash that seemed to affect 100% of Galaxy S3 users. Compatibility testing is rough for small companies, so its not surprising. They turned around a fix very quickly.

I baulked at the $5 price tag but an active multiplayer community may be the thing to get me to bite.

I can't seem to add myself, but I'm Fedaykin on SR.

Added myself to the Google doc.

So I kind of just dropped challenges on everyone in the doc - I hope that's okay.

This, times 2 or 3 now.

*shakes fist* I can see I am actually going to have to pay attention to end game strategy!

A couple options although I'm not sure what's best (we have the physical version and have only played about 4-5 times now):

1) Denial. Go heavy on Trade Federation to scrap unpurchased Blobs from the center and/or Empire (to force discards). Empire is probably the weaker of the two options since your opponent(s) can just discard junk, but you generally get attack from those cards as well. Trade general heals you which can offset the damage you're taking from Blob.

2) Turtle. Go heavy on outposts to soak damage and grab Trade Federation to heal.

3) Race them. Start prioritizing Blobs yourself and try to get to them before your opponent. This is probably the weakest strategy because it really depends on catching onto your opponent going heavy on Blob (generally if you notice too late you're already behind) and the center deck being generous with Blobs. Racing works really well in conjunction with denial. Also, using the droid faction to scrap junk cards (or Trade Federation for card draws) to make your Blobs come up more frequently counts as racing in my book.

I'd leave it. I found a twitter mention on July 8th saying it's been submitted to Apple. So that's a launch next week if polypusher's right about the 2 week average turn around.

I'm still just grabbing cards that look interesting. It feels like most people open by grabbing red machine (?) cards to scrap the duds our of the original deck and move on from there.

I went ahead and dropped the $5 on this last night. =) Updating the spreadsheet with my info.

Could someone be a dear and add me? Can't seem to do it on my phone.

Could you be a dear and make your MOVE!?

Download Google Sheets.

The average is about 7 days or so. We should be seeing it on iOS soon, hopefully tonight with the usual weekly iOS global release

I added my name to the spreadsheet, and am already playing several of you, but for anyone else looking for games my id is "pacma" and I'm happy to play

Has anybody else messed around with hard mode in the campaign. I've lost about three in a row on the first mission. Oof.

I have. Yeah, they're not messing around. I believe I finished the first campaign on Hard, and countless tries and much luck were required.

Whew - nail-biter yesterday/today with EverythingsTentative! I barely got out alive, and I thought that I was going down for sure with about three turns left to go. Great match!

Yes it was. I thought I was going to get you on that last turn, but I got no attack cards because you made me discard so many. Good job.

I'm going to get in a way-too-early request here: When we inevitably have a Star Realms tournament some day in the future, let's do it with a World Cup style format, with a group stage. I think that would add a fun twist. We can debate which group or groups is the Group of Death(!!!).

But that should probably wait for at least a few weeks or more after the iOS version launches.

Okay Fedaykin98 calm down. Basterd has 87 authority.

Make that 103.

Final score 115 to -14.

Leave me alone Fedaykin98.
