Someone should really make some movies that explore Darth Vader's backstory. Shame they haven't been done yet.

I like to think Episodes 1-3 never existed.

What? You want to pretend that A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi never existed?

That's commitment to a principle, right there.

not really since they were labeled as 4-6 when they came out.

This conversation is a little hard to follow, but it sounds like some folks think there were more than three Star Wars movies?

The Internet is full of crazy people.

To be fair, there was this spin-off...

Totally worthy of being included in the canon, I think.

I totally read "Dear Six Stroke Madam" and was wondering what was going on with Moss...

The original theatrical releases were, in fact, not.

f*cking midi-chlorians, how do they work?

Just installed Project Naptha and tried it out on a bunch of the images. Not perfect, but it worked really well.

http://projectnaptha.com/

Project Naptha automatically applies state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms on every image you see while browsing the web. The result is a seamless and intuitive experience, where you can highlight as well as copy and paste and even edit and translate the text formerly trapped within an image.

I have personal experience with a few of those.

Also, why can nobody in my office call our big-ass Xerox copier "the copier". I don't know what they're talking about when they start telling me "the printer is down".

Yeah, I've run into more than a few of those too.

Not the Xerox one though... Xerox have the contract to our brewery, so all of the printers are xerox. Furthermore, the primary printer my department uses is one of the big-ass copiers.

And that is why I started pretending I couldn't help my father with any of his computer problems. Well, to be more precise, he was the problem, and I certainly couldn't fix him!

My father is learning quickly on this issue, and not blamming everything on hardware. he knows he make mistake, and ask for help accordinly. Same as my mother. Which, really, surprise me after doing 5 years of tech support for an ISP.

First rule I told them, do not let the family that claim knows everything touch there Pc. Which worked so far, as they tried it, and saw the result I warned them about. My mom had like 4 emails, because, it was quicker to setup a new hotmail account, then calling the ISP to get the email back.

Someone should explain to #19 that the internet isn't kept on discs:

You're both wrong and right. Star Wars was released without an episode number originally. The Empire Strikes Back was labeled as Episode V when it was released, and Star Wars was retroactively numbered at that time.

Oh yeah, now that you mention it, there was some discussion amongst the pre-high school nerd set about what "Episode V" meant when Empire came out. I read somewhere back then that there were plans for three movies that took place before the first one. Pity those never happened.

Funny computer illiterate stuff..

When they got a new car with a Radio/CD player a while ago my parents asked me if they'd be able to get a CD out of it again if they put one in.

They are both over 80 though so I should cut them some slack.

7 is wonderfully matter of fact.

#7 just happened to me, but the person was very nice about being told that while the computer automatically makes recovery copies every 10 minutes while you are working... clicking No on that "Save changes?" question tells the computer to dump all of that.
Her recommendation was for Word to throw up another warning to make sure the person really meant to say no.

Which people would automatically click through the same way they click through every other notification they get on their computer. If there's one thing I wish I could impart on the users I support, it's to read notifications before closing them or hitting OK.

I've experienced some of those (cringed at the power off move during registry editing) but the grammar reminded me of why we need a balanced education.

Yes.
