I have almost bought that set twice now... I think I have to at this point.

I see this and think about making D&D out of legos, and wonder why it isn't a big thing.... maybe cost...

I'm still hoping they'll reissue the big falcon someday.

Rumors are the 2nd UCS set this year might be a Falcon.

God, i hope so, people are listing the old one at $3K on ebay.

The good news is a few of those older sets are coming out in non-UCS form in 2014 which means you can get them without doing the ebay thing. They may not be USC but I'm sure they will be nice. Specifically, an AT-AT, B wing and star destroyer are coming out this year.

Kind of want to grab this one, I always liked the A-Wing and it isn't too pricey.

My kids just got the A-wing a week ago but I think their favorite piece is Admiral Akbar's cup. In fact, I'm a little worried about it. They've been running around the house with Admiral Akbar screaming about how he needs his coffee. Hmmm...maybe I need to cut back.

Geeze it makes me upset how much lego I've missed. When I look on ebay for the sets I think I want my wallet just starts crying.

My first thought was why would a giant fish headed space creature need protective sportswear?

Well. Today I bought the last set I needed. I now have every set for the Lego Movie that is currently out.

All I am missing are the blind bag minifigures, and I have half of them. Unfortunately nobody has them in stock anymore, not even the Lego Store.

Just waiting on Benny's spaceship and Emmet's construct-o-mech to come out, and I think the ETA is June.

Yep!

Also, double VIP points at the Lego store until the 15th

Was doing some research and came across these lego kits and they looked pretty cool!

That Tripod Invader looks awesome! The way they make those pistol blasters fire-able is pretty cool, too. Well, if they're like bad/good cop's. I was super surprised when I tried one.

I really dig real life in miniature and broke down last week. Picked up a few sets.

I can not describe how good it felt to do my first lego set in about 20 years. Very good for dealing with a stressful day.

Ha, of course you got the lumber truck, DP.

Karma - that Alien Conquest tractor/vehicle looks pretty cool, I haven't seen that before.

I have the entire Alien Conquest theme (except for the stickers). The Mothership is also pretty cool.

Awesome! Unfortunately, with retired themes you have to pretty selective since they go for a bundle after retirement.

Well, I cracked. On the last day of double VIP points I broke down and bought me a Death Star.

This box is huge. They don't even keep it in the storefront, and when he brought it out from the back it was in a cardboard shopping box.

I'm wondering whether I should sneak it in the house and let the girlfriend discover it as I'm building it, or just walk in the house tonight with it. She already thinks I spend too much on Lego but also that it's my money and I can do what I want with it. Or maybe I'll find something to buy her as well.

Buy her something awesome... diamond earrings... perhaps a ring... and put it in the center of the Death Star!!!!*

Spoiler:

Muah ha ha hahahahaha

*Doing this is likely a bad idea....

Solution: Do your best Sir Alec Guinness impression and say, "That's no moon. It's a space station".

Putting together a 617 piece Mega Block (Lego size though) Hello Kitty Vacation resort with my youngest daughter. Really enjoy the process with her but not a fan of the sections not being bag specific. When I helped my older daughter with Hogwart's each bag was a particular section to work on. This particular box has you sort out all 617 pieces.

I bought the Death Star this past weekend as well. The only thing I don't like is the HUGE instruction book. Really messes up my 'work area' for legos because it is so large. I know it is a big set, but I wish they would have just done multiple normal sized books like they do for other large sets.

See that was one of the best parts of old school lego for me. You dump out the box and see this huge pile of pieces. Then as you go through the build you have to hunt and see the pile slowly dwindle.

Well it is tougher though with a 6 year old who you want to kind of lead the way with the work. We dumped and sorted it all out and got to work!

The Sea Cow had a 300 page novella. R2-D2 was split into 3 booklets.

I don't really have a specific workspace. I have a lap tray with raised edges, and a coffee table next to the couch. My sets get built while watching tv shows or movies. Although with something this epic I may have to watch the original trilogy again.

Yeah we have the Sea Cow too and it is a thick book but more like regular dimensions. My 'workspace' is the same as yours, a big tray on the couch. The Death Star book is about 40x12 inches when you open it!

I'll definitely not be getting the death star. I guess I like things that can model vice play sets, although I'll probably be using the haunted house with my graddaughter when she comes over (along with the ghostbuster set that comes out in June!)

The thing I like about the Death Star is that it is a definite display piece. It is a tableau of various movie scenes.

And it's the frakken' Death Star.
