Random thing you love right now that doesn't deserve its own thread

Kevin Trudeau sentenced to ten years in jail. About f*cking time, he's been scamming people with quackery for decades now, even ignoring direct court orders to stop. Personally, I would have been happy with a longer sentence, but this will do for now.

The Aquabats are doing an east coast tour!!! Been a good 10 years or so since I've seen them! SOOOOOO RAD!!!!

His light sentence is due to "sentence reduction techniques 'they' don't want you to know about."

Good. I've always hated Doonesbury.

He used to be on late night TV in Australia AGES ago flogging Mega Memory Techniques with Danny Bonaduce. I thought that name rung a bell.

Will it make a difference though? When asked how far he'd go with quackery and cartooning, Trudeau replied, "Just watch me."

Catching up on all the posts I missed while in the hospital. I've been reading all day.

Yeah, just got caught up in the loathe thread, but now that you've quoted me, Dee, can't go back and edit that blunder.
My heartfelt sympathies, Malor.

blunder, what blunder?

Blunder? You're the mother of a newborn; you can do no wrong!

Hehe, well kinda. In my defense, I just woke up and was still catching up on all the various threads, still on my phone too.

Back on track: my newborn only woke me twice last night. This is too good to be true, and I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Then again, I figure that with #1 not sleeping well until he was 13 months, I've got some spare karma on that point, right?

Hope you're doing okay! Get well soon!!

They're people, too, and people are generally different from each other in very dramatic ways. Some kids really are "easy." Some kids sleep through the night at 6 weeks. The first time my second kid did that, I was afraid she'd died! Kept checking her breathing and everything. I was on the verge of breaking out the CBG sticks when she woke up.

Absolutely!! I can already tell he's super different from his brother. Also, I think I might be more chill with him than I was with his brother. Which might also play a role in the whole affair.

Edit: just saw the surgeon and they're discharging me!!! Hooray!!! Provided the pediatrician is okay with it, and why wouldn't he/she really, my little one is as healthy as can be.
I kinda feel like I'm breaking out of prison because they initially said Thursday and it's Wednesday morning.

Next post from E?

Loving eating all the forbidden food that isn't hospital grade horrible...

Congratulations on the new little mister to love, Eleima! That's wonderful, and yay for getting out of the hospital!

I have to throw this random thing I love out there right now because, well, it's just too good too keep to myself. I work in an assisted living facility, and I often get stuck calling Bingo. Bingo is serious business with these folks. They have their special seats, lucky cards, superstitions about which color chips they should play with, etc. Well, one of the ladies won, and she was sitting across from a gentleman she wasn't particularly fond of. He's kind of bossy and doesn't have the best manners, but he's a nice guy, all things considered. Well, she won, and he said, 'Hey, good job, good job! Good for you!' and then extended his arm, fist at the end, and waited. Much to my delight, she looked at him, said 'Thanks!' and then they FIST BUMPED. An 89 year old man and a 93 year old woman. Wish I had been able to record that moment. It was awesome, hilarious, and touching.

That is pure awesomeness, Sister, must've been quite a sight to behold.

m0nk3yboy, I'm ashamed to say that our first stop on our way out of the hospital was a McD's drive thru. As usual, I indulged and regretted it an hour later (so unsatisfying, this is why I barely eat this stuff, like once a year). But yes, on my list of "to eat's" are all the yummy foods I haven't been able to eat the past nine months in order to prevent toxoplasmosis or listeria: meat that's cooked rare instead of well done, sushi, steak tartare... Yum...

Bonus love!! The link my father just sent me with a kickass video (complete with Hans Zimmer soundtrack) on the shifting borders in Europe. I'm guessing this might interest EU4 fans:
If Crimea rejoins Russia, it’s only the latest twist in 1,000 years of European border shifts @ Market Watch

Or, to go back further (with some gaps -- link rot, I guess), there's this sequence of maps. No music or animation, though.

Accepting an offer on my house after being on the market for just over 2 weeks. Now I have my fingers crossed that everything goes well!

Just got tickets to see Brand New this summer! 2004 me is pumped.

Oh man--that's awesome! I had no idea they were still together, let alone touring. I miiiight have to see if they're playing around here.

I believe this is a reunion tour to go along with a new album.

Also Cpt, we need to hang out and listen to some tunes.

Made with The CENTENNIA Historical Atlas, looks like.

For comparison, here's an alternate CK2/EU4 history:
