Demo,

Simply go to Paypal.com and create an account, if you don't have one. Then, you link your account to your form of payment (normally your checking account) and then click the link that says "Send Money" and follow the prompts. It may take a few days to validate your account. They may also let you use a credit or debit card; I don't remember.

PM me if you need more into.

Yar, got started and realized it needed some stuff re-validated, so I'll be doing this when I get home tonight.

It's best if you hook it to a bank account, but then you have to wait for them to "verify" the account by dropping in a few pennies and asking you for the amounts.

You can use a credit/debit card to send money, but then they charge YOU a transaction fee.

I really don't use PayPal anyway, I set up the account years ago to get a cheap DS so I could trade Pokemon to myself so I could have a team that included all three starters. I haven't used it since, my account was actually apparently inactive (which is the cause of all the validation). At this point, as long as it's not like 20% of what I'm sending, I may just use my bank card, think that'll be easier anyway.

My thoughts are with you both. You shouldn't have to be stressed and worried about money on top of all your other concerns.

Thinking of both of you. Don't forget to breathe.

BAM!

They also do this for foreign transactions, but I figure it is the equivalent of 'postage' (or in my case, a LOT less, the last thing I sent to the US cost me $17) and I am happy to wear that cost, so more money gets through to PR.

PayDay this Thursday PR, I will send all that I can from a currency POV, but you have access to infinite quantities of 'good vibes' 24/7, and monster internet hugs on tap!

((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))) <-see

We had a rough trot recently. I couldn't bring myself to put up my hand, I'm glad you had the strength to do so. My respect for you has only deepened.

Do you accept bitcoin? No transaction fees there... well minimal ones.

Today has been an exceptionally emotional day, from kind words from my CEO about helping me with the disability hurdles to my HR Director telling me how many people have offered to donate leave to me so I can take time off.

However, all of that has paled in comparison to the outpouring of support and care from this community. It has been overwhelming at times.

I will be thanking everyone personally as I muddle my way through all of this, but for now, please accept my deepest and most sincere expression of gratitude and appreciation for all of your support.

I would do a "thank you" video, but my teary eyes have ruined my make up for the evening.

BTW, a few people sent donations, but did not include their GWJ name. If you forgot to do so, please PM me so I can keep an accounting and issue the appropriate thank yous.

Yes, this. Good vibes and paypal vibes incoming.

Internet hugs & good thoughts coming your way. I wish I could do more.

Jen, that means a lot. Seriously. It does.

I wish I could ignore the fact that there are people who have distanced themselves from me ever since I got sick.

Your internet hugs and good thoughts are a wonderful shining star in my life.

Are hot pokers still a religious thing because I now wish to do unholy things to them. :X

Big hugs and happy thoughts for you!

And, if what we have raised isn't enough, let me know... will have some extra cash around again post paycheck this week. I think I left more of a buffer than I need this week with this girl being slow to meet up, but the only thing budgeted in that next paycheck is Infamous, so I can spread more car good cheer if need be, or some travel for bowchickwowow if desired.

Now why would you want to do things to hot pokers? That seems a bit masochistic

Son of a! *facepalm*

Greetings all.

I am writing this as I am sitting in our Orange County apartment on a rather warm day here in SoCal. Rubb and I are in socks and underwear making all of you titillated with our sultry sexiness, I am sure.

Just a quick update on a couple of things and a disclosure.

First, I arrived here on Thursday night to celebrate my birthday with Rubb and it has been a really nice trip. I am heading home a little later this evening and then dealing with some doctors appointments and picking up my car at the mechanic's tomorrow.

My mechanic informed me that while the car will be repaired, it is on its last legs. So, we walked through some options and after discussing it with Rubb and a few friends and family, I need to get another vehicle because this is just chasing good money after bad from this point. I have caught up with my bills and set aside the cash for the car repairs and will have some of the donated funds left over to apply to another vehicle. The mechanic also said he might have a buyer for my dying car to restore (since the body is actually is great shape) and that would give me more cash than if I tried to trade it in for anything.

To that end, I wanted to make full disclosure to those of you that donated of my intent with the remaining funds. I also wanted to give an opportunity for anyone who objects to me using the last of the funds for this purpose to request the return of their funds. I would hold no malice or disappointment. I certainly wasn't expecting that my car, despite its age and mileage, is pining for the afterlife, but that is the grim reality. So, let me know by PM and I will refund as quickly as possible.

Also, I am slowly working through my personal thank yous for the kindness that has been shown to me in this community. For this weekend, however, I was, um, "busy" with Rubb, so I didn't make much progress. I will make an effort to complete my expressions of gratitude this coming week.

Once again, thank you very much for your support

Well, I said the money should be used for car repairs and sexy times with RubbEd. If you have fulfilled both of those conditions, then I am pleased. Let us know if you need any more help! *big hugs and happy thoughts*

Phoenix, there are no string attached to our money. Don't be silly. You could spend it all on slushees and I would be happy for you two.

Oh jesus, I am drinking and watching Walking Dead and reading this and crying tears of manliness and I just wish you two all the happiness two people can have.

I said it before, but I'll say again that all the money we sent you is to be used however you see fit. A simple thank you is all I'd ever ask for in return, so you've already got it covered.

I'm also in the camp of 'money was donated to help RubbRev to keep moving forward'.

If you have found a more beneficial way of achieving this, that doesn't obligate you to 'throw good money after bad' in terms of the car, then I am all for it.

If you find it is too hard to get those funds sorted for the newer car, maybe set up a donation drive like Silly Rabbit did for Vinnie's Fence. You know how much this community loves a good cause to rally behind.

Actually, you just reminded me of a very fond memory. (Spoilered, because of tangential posting, and I didn't realise how much I had written until I got to the end).

Spoiler:

I was in the middle of my studies to become a Graphic Designer, and we had a very spirited 'mature age student' join us in our second year. Ray Ratcliffe was his name, if I remember correctly.

We found out he was a respected photographer around the area, but was re-schooling himself as a Graphic Designer because he had recently been diagnosed with MS and was looking for a job where he didn't need to be on his feet, holding equipment, etc.

He used to haul his gear to and from where he lived on an old wheeled shopping cart, and used public transport. One day, someone stole his cart. He had no way to replace it (being on disability) and had no way to get back into his studies. At the time, none of us knew about his loss.

He was gone for a few weeks, and none of us knew why, so a lecturer who lived near him, reached out to find out what was up.

We found out the story, so a few of us mobilized the 'poor art students' in the building for a fund raiser, most of us giving up our grocery money for the week.

We managed to raise enough to buy him not only a 'dependable' second hand car, but the local art shop heard about what we were doing, and matched, dollar for dollar, the left over money we had set aside for art supplies.

We heard he was coming in to withdraw from his studies, so we asked the Head of Design to ask him into our building first 'as part of the official withdrawal process'.

The car was parked out of sight, then, once inside, was set it up out the front of the building. He came out, 5 minutes later, to see the whole school of design in front of the building, and the head lecturer, holding a set of keys. Explaining what we'd done, he almost fainted on the spot, but then we got him to open the boot, to see it filled to the top with EVERYTHING he would need to complete his studies...

It was the first time I had ever seen a man weep openly outside of a funeral.

He vowed to buy every single one of us a 'thank you' coffee before his time was through. Sure enough he did, and it was the best 'cup of joe' I've ever had in my life.

Not sure where he is now, that was over 20 years ago, but he was one of our highest graduating students, and certainly one of the most loved.

/tangent.

I wouldn't have thrown a bit into the pot if I didn't trust you to put it to good use. Only you know what you need right now, be it transportation or fancy undergarments

I will agree to it only if the new vehicle is a vintage VW bus with whitewall tires and a massive peace sign decal affixed to both sides.

I was going to insist on a Hello Kitty paint job, but I could trust others to demand that in my stead.

So I'm content with you making Q-Stone cry. Haven't seen that since he asked me what my oysters got me for Christmas.

I concur and would like to yield the remainder of my time to the primate wearing sunglasses.

I also humbly request that a rainbow of some sort be involved.
