Batman: Arkham Knight Catch-All

Eh, not as cool as the Arkham City GOTY box.

It was too much to expect gameplay footage, wasn't it?

Yes.

Granted this is the teaser to get us all frothing at the mouth just as we are right now, but considering the box art is already slathered with a Harley Quinn pre-order bonus, it would have been nice to see just a tiny bit of gameplay.

I'm always disappointed when game trailers don't show gameplay. I've been pretty spoiled in that regard in that the publishers I tend to follow usually include at least some gameplay footage in even their announcement trailers.

I hope this is better than the last game which I thought was pretty bad compared to the first two.

Well, this does go back to Rock Steady, which passed off the last game while they focused on next gen. The question is whether driving the Batmobile will be awesome, or a lame gimmick in an effort to add something else. I don't really expect much out of these games except an interesting story, and the same fun beat-em up mechanics.

Cool new images surface. Take a look at Gordon, Riddler, Two-Face, and the rocksteady created titular character, Arkham Knight.

It's Shadowhawk!

Looks very, very sharp. Can't wait until we leave last-gen's legacy behind for good.

It's Shadowhawk the Joker!

It's also really silly looking.

YUp, Soon as I heard they were making up a new villian for the next game, my first thought was *groan* prepare for late-game Joker unmasking!

It's Isaac Clarke come back from time to kill the Necromorphs in Gotham City using the Batgineering Suit.

Please, no. There is a precedent, but please Rocksteady!

Oh, it's gonna happen.

I dunno. Looks about right for Robin. *Hint, hint*

No, no, no.... NO! Unless they use a lazarus pit...

If it is the end of the trilogy why does Batman seem younger?

Actually, I'm left thinking back to Arkham City, specifically the ending to the "Identity Thief" or whatnot sidequest.

Spoiler:

The one where Hush was all set up to steal Bruce Wayne's identity.

At the same time, there was also the side quest with..umm...The Watcher? He was very vague in coming darkness or whatever.

I'm wondering if either of those could have something to do with the plot to this game. I'm hoping so, and if that's the case:

Spoiler:

I could see Hush being the Arkham Knight.

Damn, I don't think I finished that one!!

*runs back to play Arkham City*

I want the main villain and entire storyline to be Hush. Is that too much to ask?

I could definitely see Hush as the Arkham Knight. That's a cool idea.

But I've still got that $5 saying that Joker turns out to be the real villain in the end.

Joker inexplicably returning from seeming death is a long and storied tradition for the character.

This side quest has a very cool moment aurally when one character talks to another and about 3/4 through the scene, slides smoothly into the voice of another character that's familiar yet distinct. And it's all the same voice actor for all 3 characters. Kevin Convoy is the Man.

That was funnier than it should have been.

New trailer:

This is being billed as a "gameplay trailer". Apparently, they have very different ideas from me of what showing gameplay actually looks like.

Ahh, I get it. "Gameplay" means "supposedly none of this is pre-rendered and is exactly what you can expect when playing the game...allegedly."

Neat how you can do that thing in the tunnel from Men In Black.

There's maybe 15 seconds of what looks like actual gameplay in that thing. The rest is cut scene CGI. *sigh*

I guess I never realized until the armor that Batman is basically DCs Tony Stark. Both playboy geniuses with Daddy issues, but lots of toys, etc.

Except Iron Man is more interesting. Since the shift to Batman as the Dark Knight, he's had as much depth of personality as Edward Cullen.

Wait... Batman sparkles in the sunlight? Is that why he only goes out at night? It all makes sense now!!
