Happy Hump Day Survey!

Completely out of context, but you just made me think of something: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'd totes swim in the chocolate river! Oompa Loompas!

I can tell you what universe I would NOT want to live in for a year: A Song of Ice and Fire's. Given that you have to live for a year in that universe might end up being a bad thing.

A year in Rapture may be too long so I'll say Bloom County. I think Opus and I would be good buds.

DAMN. YOU WIN.

But seriously, a lot of you are picking worlds full of turmoil and strife. I'm trying to think of a nice happy world to be in, instead. I just want to chill.

Yeah, this is the struggle I'm having as well.

I totally thought about that, but I'd leave that place so fat after the year I'd probably die. More dangerous than picking The Walking Dead!

I'm thinking the universe of WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT might be fun. At least there'd be toons!

And patty-cake

The world of viva pinata would be pretty cool. Just chill with all your pinatas.

Haha! Yeah, I didn't want to think about how I would eat in the world. Just the thought of eating a baby pinata puppy makes me sad.

The thing is, stories don't typically get told that are set in worlds without any sort of conflict in them. Guess ya gotta find the happily ever after worlds. How about somewhere like the world in Kirby's Epic Yarn?

Late to the party, as always... Tough one for me, but either the Dune universe or the Star Trek universe.

Heh, I'm still debating this week's. Well, trying to pick somethimg that isn't too prevy at least. :p

Well, I've always said it I had to love in a game world, I'd probably pick Pokemon. I'm rather partial One Piece too, given the broader scope of "fictional world".

Yeah, for sure. I kept coming up with cartoons and then realized it's the only stories that ended up happy! Of course if it's Disney at least one of your parents has to die. Conflict again!

I wish I had thought of Pokemon... but now I also wonder if that wouldn't be kind of like dog fighting.

Okay, I've slept on it and while I would love to live in a fantasy world from the books I love, I really think I would like to live in a world where Willy Wonka exists. So, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory takes the cake for me.

The irony here is that I don't have a much of a sweet tooth, but the awe and wonder present in the book(s) that hits so close to reality is more appealing than my beloved sci fi and fantasy series. That and we still get to take a glass elevator to space, so ...

High five! I could easily see myself spending a year under Bene Gesserit tutelage!

The Mushroom Kingdom It's cheery yet dangerous. There would never be a dull moment.

Pokemon seems to be the happiest universe that has interesting stuff going on to me... of course if we go for worlds with strife I would like to play with the powers in... Avatar cartoons would be fun (waterbending seems to be the most versatile) or Eragon or the Dragon Knight series for their takes on magic (both require thought process more than power). Marvel universe could also be fun.

Question. Do you think it would be fun? I wouldn't.

If I can take my powers of prana-bindu musculature, voice, and perception back to the real world, I'll be unstoppable!

The universe of Dune is cold and unforgiving. Great for stories, but there is no way in Hell I'd live there.

In truth, the greatest appeal for me would be the Mass Effect universe pre-Reaper threat, though when I say that I pretty much mean I'd love to be at the Citadel.

I mean, that's where all of Commander Shepard's favorite stores are.

Star Trek, Voyager, Season 4

So when humanity was largely considered second-class upstarts who were far too ambitious for their own good and needed to be taken down a peg?

Hmm, maybe the Land of Ooo from Adventure Time

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love the pokemon world, and wish I had thought of it, but I wonder if living it would be as great as I'd like to think it would be... because I am basically training little thinking animals to fight each other to near death.

I mean a year before the disaster happens. Humanity seemed to be doing decently enough on the Citadel then, unless I'm remembering the game wrong.

I'm kind of surprised nobody picked the Harry Potter universe.

After some reflection, I'll go with the Harry Potter universe.
