Trailer Catch All

Another Spider-Man one. I don't know I am just not sold. It feels...serviceable without being particularly interesting.

Saw a trailer in front of The Lego Movie

Spoiler:

Loved the moment where Gwen catches herself yelling "Peter."

I don't have any particular expectations for the movie, but the first one really surprised me, so I'm in.

2nd full trailer for Transcendence

Trailer for a documentary about an earlier version of Dune that never got made.

Nymphomaniac: Volume I

Way to make sex look depressing! Perhaps I am odd but tying lots of sex to depressing lives, violence and sadness doesn't make me want to see the film.

There's a trailer for vol II out but it's only in red band at the moment.

Guardians of the Galaxy trailer:

Obscene gesture imminent! It's a James Gunn movie alright.

Oh, I cannot wait!

I know nothing about Guardians of the Galaxy, but that looks like fun.

Same here. I've read about the movie but knew little to nothing about it, so it wasn't really on my radar. Now though...

I like the part at 1:19.

Man, that is a great trailer.

Woo! IMAX 3D all the way! And I think I might have to leave work early for a doctors' appointment the day it hits theaters.

As a fan of Marvel, and a fan of this series, this looks absolutely AWESOME !
Featuring a tree, a Raccoon (his specialty is arms and tactics!), this trailer captures the mood of the comic perfectly.
BRING IT ON !

Knowing nothing about the comic, it was funnier than I expected.

If it keeps the tone of previous Marvel movies with a good story, but not take itself too seriously (which it seems to be doing in spades), this should be a blast.

Chris Pratt's audition tape for Guardians Of The Galaxy:

It reminds me of "The Watchmen" in that fans of the comics will like it but it makes little to no sense to someone who doesn't know about the comic. That is fine except it isn't going to do well at the box office.

It's exactly what it says on the tin.
5 intergalactic criminals band together and save the universe.
And there's a Raccoon with a gun.
Bear in mind Marvel has great momentum at the moment, and it's a summer release. I'd bet my house that this absolutely kills it at the cinema box office.
What's not to like ?

They'll throw some tie in to the current movies. A glimpse of the Hulk or something. And then Marvel will use this movie as a wonderful vehicle to explain just how much of a threat Thanos is. And also, Peter Serafinowicz should be in more things. He's hysterical.

Eh, the difference with Watchmen is that it is so, so serious. I remember my sister's boyfriend at the time was so hyped for it, but when he went to see it he disliked it because it was so not a super hero movie.

I think Guardians of the Galaxy has more going for it because, well, it's funny, and they are advertising it in the perfect way: "who the f*ck are these guys?" As someone who knows nothing about the comics (I didn't hear of them until the film was announced), I found that trailer to be absolutely perfect. I'm sold.

It also helps that it has an aesthetic that reminds me of Farscape.

I got a big Joss Whedoney Firefly vibe. I wonder if he had any creative input. Is the comic a similar tone?

Hopefully it'll be a fun, actiony, space opera - like Star Wars should've been.

Spoiler:

Bazinga!

Da f*ck? Barely any Nebula in that. I NEED MY KAREN GILLAN FIX!

This.

Everything I knew about Guardians of the Galaxy I learned form the recent Spider-Man cartoons. Looks so good.

In one of the latest comics, they are rescued by a Russian cosmonaut .... which is a talking (Russian) Labrador !
Drax and Gamorra are total "straight guys", so it's Rocket Raccoon and Star Lord that provide the levity. (All Groot ever says is "I am Groot!")

Another 22 Jump Street trailer. Looks funny

this makes me cry

I've been quite critical of the rapacious Marvel-Disney hegemony and their nefarious Phases, so I'm really annoyed by how many of my buttons Guardians of the Galaxy pushes.

unapologetic stupid entertainment. I'll take 2 to go, thanks!

I love that the description on Rocket had "Tendency to bite".
