Mounts in WoW = Teh suq.

Well, except for the ""free"" mounts, you can keep your current character and just work really hard to get your faction up with whichever race you want to buy a mount from.

pretty sure Slambie plays Horde... I might be wrong though.

Ah, yes, well. Er, I''ll get me coat.

In Sen''jin the raptor mounts are 20 gold and level 40 to buy.

Bloodhoof village has Kodo mounts for 40 gold

In Sen''jin the raptor mounts are 20 gold and level 40 to buy.

The 20 gold is the ability to ride them, not buy the mount itself probably.

Yeah there is no way there are places where mounts cost less than other places.

You can use your faction discounts...but Im not sure despite how high your faction gets that the discount is ever more than 10%

If anyone has exalted in a particular faction could confirm this that would be cool.

Also, does anyone know much revered(faction after honored) gives discount wise? I know I will have my first mount before I get out of honored but I am curious anyway.

Yeah, my tauren warrior is not going to work with a mechanical chicken.

One of these days, though, I''ll start work on that Gnome.

I read on the wow forums that exalted for another fraction is impossible to get at the moment. A lvl 60 gnome ran to darnassus at level 1 and did all the NE related quests up to lvl 60 and still has not reach exalted. She was high disappointed that she couldn''t get a white sabre for her gnome.

I''ve posted this before, but I''m pretty sure tauren can only ride kodos. Regardless of their faction with other races. Something about cruelty to animals or some such.

You''re right. Taurens can only ride Kodos.

My poor Tauren warrior will never be able to ask, ""Does this chicken make me look fat?""

This is why I remembered that little fact.

The ASPCM (Azerothian Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Mounts) took the Horde mount handlers to court in the famous case of ASPCM vs. Orgrimmar. The warg handlers of the Orcish people were accused of selling their mounts to Tauren, who were too large for a warg to support without severe damage to the animal.

The Orcs, admittedly, did not have much of a case -- they took the front that there was no proof as to what the Tauren were going to use the wargs for... as far as they knew, they were going to be extra-large guard dogs, or beasts of burden. Of course, this argument fell flat when the eyewitness reports came in of Tauren riding away on their already-whimpering wargs in full view of the merchant who sold them.

The court''s ruling was to disallow Tauren from riding wargs, on penalty of death.

thats odd...you figure that has to be some mob that when you kill gives you the correct faction..

so given enough time and boredom tolerance one could farm enough of them to gain the required faction

unless of course Blizzard put in that if you dont get exp for the kill you also dont get the faction increase/decrease

From my understanding, faction points are only gained through quests. So you do a quest for Stormwind, and Stormwind likes you more.

Though I suppose it would make sense that if I go on a rampage and kill 1000 defias, that Stormwind would like me then, too.

You gain faction per kill of each bloodsail pirate in STV. It increases BB faction.

no check your combat log...

You gain probably higher faction doing quests but thats not the only way

Well, right. The neutral factions, you can gain points from killing. But Booty Bay also doesn''t let me buy a mount.

EDIT: Well apparently I''m stupid. Don''t mind me.

I finally did it. I went from 9s to 85g in 3 days farming Scarlet Monastery graveyard for a few hours a night. Got my ram and it is really a big help traveling around.

I might need to farm one more night to pay for the 8 levels of skills I skipped.

I think Rogues get balanced out by being able to sneak to places that most characters can''t get to until later levels. My friend travelled a pretty damn far way. I don''t remember the name but it was deep in the heart of the Ogre area and took a boat to a secluded Night Elf village.

I hit lvl 38 and have 20 Gold. For the first time I didn''t buy all my skills and this is the first time that the game is going to force me to grind. I am not happy about it.

It''s only forcing you if you want your mount as soon as you hit 40. Just because it''s available at 40, doesn''t mean you have to have it.

It''s gonna be a grind regardless of when I ""do it"". 80 gold is not going to magically accumulate in my backpack.

Faction past honored doesn''t get you further discounts in case you were still wondering Flux.

That stinks to be honest. It isn''t like a person didn''t earn it. Bad move on Blizzard''s part. Thanks for the tip.

from the cesspool of the official forums:

I am unsure if there will be monsters that give major city faction when killed at this time; I''ve heard no plans for such.

Are you serious that you can''t attack from a mount in WoW? That''s really f*cked up.
