My WoW Karma is Strong

I know you are thinking how can this be and what the heck I am talking about so I will tell you.

A one of my best friends has been playing WoW and had been petitoning me to play with him.

So the other day I had decided I could get WoW and play it and EQ2 and do just fine.

As you all know getting WoW is next to impossible. I searched he net and nobody had any but a single CompUSA near my work listed having some in stock.

I drive out there to find there is no games on the shelf. I track down one of the helpful staff and ask about the game and he says they have none. That the computer says they have some in stock because they have a couple defective ones.

He then volunteers the fact that they have 1 copy in the back that was returned and that it has not been checked back in yet but when it is will be placed on the shelf.

I ask him if I can get it checked in now, since I was there and wanted it. He goes in back and asks the guy in the back if he can get the 1 copy of WoW checked in and comes back out with the copy for me.

To my horror though the game has been open by the guy that returned the game. Needless to say I am thinking the guy installed the game took the key and returned it and even now got over on CompUSA.

I decide to risk it though since what chance to have to play with my friend.

I get home install it and by some miracle the guy that returned the game was actually an honest person and the key was still good.

Just thought I share the story as it is sort of crazy and obvious proof that the gods of gaming smile on me.

Jan 5th 2005: Maladen attempts the impossible and tries to play two MMOs at once.

May 5th 2005: Maladen, now called Gollum emerges from his cave, squints at the too bright light in the sky and says ""My Precious"" before shuffling back into the cave.

I checked the availability at CompUsa and Best Buys within 50 miles of my house in the hopes that I could score a few copies for people on here. No such luck.

I wonder if Blizzard will sell keys to people online and allow them to DL the client and play, or at the very least if they''ve even considered it(no access to Blizz site from work).

This was mentioned in another thread and I believe Blizzard is not restocking stores on purpose because they are having a hard time handling the volume of new accounts since release (especially after Christmas I imagine.) I think they''ve also said they have no plans to sell keys online anytime soon, but that it could be an option in the forseeable future.

It''s not like they couldn''t make and sell more copies if they wanted to but have chosen not to.

Come to Blackhand maladen, I will try my best to hook you up with smithed armor and weapons.

My buddy is on Bloodhoof though which sort of defeats the purpose of getting the game.

Thanks for the offer though and maybe I can make an alt there to paly now and then.

Badferret thank that made me laugh but I think my famly will kill me way before that ever happens.

Yeah Maladen, we average at 10-15 guildmembers on a night, even 20 on the weekends on Alliance Blackhand. I''ll hook you up with all 10 slot bags if you come over.

You should be enticing people with 12 slotters by now!

I just need the mageweave man... it''s still pretty rare even at 40.

I got my first runecloth bag this morning. I now have a backpack, 3 mageweave and 1 runecloth bags. I use 2 silk bags in my bank to add 2 additional slots and I am still full most of the time.

My first guy I made on Bloodhoof was a gnome mage. He did not last long though as I found him funny and sort of har to look impresive as a gnome.

So made a human mage instead.

Not sure how I could manage to have a guy on Blackhand, a guy on Bloodhoof, and play EQ2 all at the sametime.

The best things comes in small packages...

If you leave EQ2, who will I talk to about it on this board?

Only I will be left to sing the praises of EQ2 in the WoW forum!

Hey I am not leaving EQ2. I like EQ2 a lot after all just want to be able to play with my frined some in WoW.

I figure he has had WoW for several weeks and his highest guy is like level 20 something.

That should mean I can keep up with him if I only play a couple nights a week I figure.

Maybe this plan will fail in a horrible mess but I would not leve EQ2 unless my longtime gaming buddy came with me too. Been playing games with this guy for over 5 years now and even though I want to play with my real life friend some do not want to just toss out playing with my other friend too.

Back when I only had 1 friend life was much less complicated.

If you did come to Blackhand, you should definitely go Horde, because the GWJ Alliance smells funny and has Nelves in it. I will hook you up with 10 slot bags too. So there

Yeah I liked the idea of being a Gnome mage engineer but just thought it would not look impressive to be a little gnome with my pointed hat and all.

Not sure what it takes to be an engineer yet but just seems like a neat combo from a steampunk sort of way.

Yeah friends are such troublesome beast. My RL friend sends daily updates form the land of WoW, pirate ships this, ziggurats that. But I will not be fooled, I will happily stay in Norrath. And besides I cant keep up with him anyway, he leveled up to 20 in EQ2 before switching and is now 51!!! in WoW.

I hit 51 last night...

So thats actually about 1 month of hard core playing.

Leveling is pretty fast in WoW.. especially if you concentrate on doing quests.

Are these offers for new members only? If operators are standing by, Grumpicus could definitely use some on the Alliance side - especially since he loses a pack to the ammo bag... and Theseus and Grumpicca would be happy to take some off your hands, Strekos. Heck, feel free to send them COD if you want. Thanks.

(I finally get the cable modem hooked up in the new place this Friday. Yea!)

Grump, where have you been? Practically every night I''m on (which is 4-5 nights a week ) I''m asking in guild chat if anyone needs bags!

If any GWJ Alliance members need bags and you see me in game, don''t be shy about letting me know.

"LeapingGnome" wrote:

See the last line of my previous post.

Edit for clarification: No cable modem == no WoW for me. I do appreciate your generosity, though.

Wait!

I thought this was like a Cell Phone company where I was getting a special deal in order to win me over.

Now I no longer feel special.

I''ve been making 10 slot bags for anyone who asks as long as I have the materials available. What makes this possible is the generosity of other people in the guild -- since alot of people have been sending me silk, I usually have materials available. I''ve got Vinsa and Certis in queue at them moment Grump but once theirs are done I''ll send some your way.

Thanks. I''ve donated plenty of linen to whomever would take it but none of my chars are high enough yet to pull silk... but I''ll remember that when I get up there. Thanks again.

Yep, same on Alliance Strekos, the only reason I can keep everyone in bag space is thanks to everyone''s generosity in sending me cloth.

Let me beg for some 10 slotter''s please. I''m hurtin'':)

Dronan :GWJ Alliance

p.s. When you say ''cloth'', does that mean ''linen'' or
''wool''?

"Donan" wrote:

I think he is using it in the general sense to encompass linen wool and other raw materials used in tailoring.

bag materials (not including thread):

6 slots - 6x linen
8 slots - 9x wool
10 slots - 12x silk & 2x heavy leather
12 slots - 20x mageweave
not sure on the 14 and 16 slots yet

I usually make the black ones now because they''re still green so that is:

10 slots - 20x silk & 1 black dye.

14 slots are 25x runecloth & 2 rugged leather.

I tried the 2 MMORPGs thing. It lasted about a day then I dropped EQ and played Wow exculisively.
