Guild Wars 2 Guild organization thread.

Looks like somebody already shot you an invite for the Steam group (since it won't let me add you). Someone else will have to help with the guild invite.

Done. Enjoy.

Yeah, I sent you the group invite a while back after our first Twitter exchanges on GW2. I can handle the guild invite in about 30min, maybe an hour depending on how the evening pans out.

Hah!... In before work.

So I've gotten back into this lately. Apparently the guild has moved? And people are using a steam group now?

I think there's always been a steam group, and the guild is still on northern shiverpeaks. Folks just left for a more active guild is all. Happens in pretty much every MMO we play.

There's still a few holdouts in the gwj guild, but yeah, it seems most jumped ship.

Yeah a while back things got pretty quiet on the GWJ guild. Personally there was a good stretch of 4-6 weeks where I would log in and be the only one online and representing at my time slot, or there was someone else who was clearly only interested in doing their solo thing.

At that point I pulled the trigger to move myself to ZoS and a few of our more active GWJ members are there as well. If you enjoy playing MMOs with people I highly recommend it. It is undoubtedly a mature guild where any GWJer would be a good fit.

There are still a few holdouts in GWJ, and if anyone is interested in taking on a leadership role, just send me a message and I will give you officer position so you can mess around with build queues, missions etc.

Remember that you can be in multiple guilds too, so you don't have to quit GWJ to join ZoS.

I looked into joining ZoS but the chat requirements, entry interview and talk about a mandatory mentoring program made me "NOPE" out. I've had jobs with fewer requirements.

I have a couple of friends who are talking about picking up GW2 in March. I might hop back on around then to help them out.

In the meantime, I'm just trying to clear my pile.

Sounds like you're assuming it's all way more serious than it actually is. The initial interview is a short friendly chat just so they can get an idea of who you are and weed out any obvious jackholes, and they take time to explain how the guild works during the interview. The mentoring program isn't actually being used so that's a non-issue. The requirement to be on chat is only for organized events and it's simply because all the instructions are via voice (you don't even need to keep a microphone turned on if you didn't want to.)

In return you get an incredibly active guild filled with some pretty damn nice folks. There are organized events seven days a week if you choose to participate, and if you don't nobody would ever say a thing to you about it. Unlike most MMO guilds the officers in ZoS aren't just there to skim the best loot. These folks are constantly trying to come up with more things to schedule just because they want to do fun stuff as a group. Even better, pretty much everything they do is open to anyone on the server regardless of guild affiliation (ZoS Teamspeak access included.)

Anyone who wants to check out ZoS but has interview-phobia should consider coming to one of the zone completion zergs which are hosted on Wednesday and Sunday, the Guild Missions which happen on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, or probably even the Tequatl kills which are now being scheduled twice every Thursday. There are other guild events that I'm sure would also be suitable, but those are the ones I know PUGs are commonly involved in.

Although I understand your concerns, partly they are what kept me from applying, they are somewhat misplaced.

Joining was quick and easy as Elycion described. Post on their board, quick chat on TS with some very nice people. Done.

I'm all the way out on Crystal Desert because it's more active in my time zone and am still a member of the GWJ guild. Pretty much the only one on this server.

If everyone doesn't mind, could I get permissions to mess around with the build queue and use the bank to share among my alts?

If you're a Lost Soul (non-Northern Shiverpeaks player), you should already be able to.

I returned to GW2 and joined GT, which is also a pretty active guild with 30-40 people on each night. They are a good, friendly and helpful bunch. The only requirement is that you represent their guild when playing. To get in, you just need to send an in game message to one of the members and if an officer is on, they'll send the guild invite.

Thanks Tyops!

I just snagged a copy of GW2 for US $10 via a sale on the buy.guildwars2.com site. (Looks like it's over now, unfortunately.)

Any GWJers still actively playing?

Oh yeah.

Yup, having a bit of a resurgence thanks to that sale. The catch-all is here. Post your account name (name.####) for an invite to the GWJ guild.

I thought it was awfully quiet in here, given that recent sale! Thanks for the pointer to the correct thread! (I blame Google! :-))

Just made the jump myself and I'm really enjoying the game. A little too much if I may say so.

Excellent I'm re-downloading right now.. I'll edit this post with my toons names. Much excite!

Edit: Looks like I wasn't on the same server as you guys so I'm starting fresh. All my toons were relatively low anyhow.

If someone could shoot an invite to Arya O Winterfell or Asicho would be much appreciated!

Just started this up last week with a couple friends. Can i get an invite to the GWJ guild if possible.

Medmey.5473

Sorry. I don't have the correct permissions to add you. You'll have to wait till one of the officers pops back on.

Thanks..

Can anyone invite both MadMark.6372 and Mittrawn.3712 to the GWJ guild. They both lurk here on the boards and and my fellow co-workers.
Thanks...

I just invited the first one, MadMark, but the game said Mittrawn.3713 was invalid, could you double check that one?

Try Mitthrawn.3712... missed the "h".
Thanks!
