Inverted controls. Pushing your mouse forward moves it down on screen.
Well that's just madness.

I'm glad they provide the option, but I really can't grok to using inverse Y-axis for anything but a flight sim!
What is the pricing structure for this game? Is it $20 to get in and then no fees?
Free, eventually. Right now you're looking at $60 and $100 for the alpha and beta. The $20 is for the beta. After that the game itself will be free.
Got a plot today. It's terrible, but I have one.
I just got a really good spot on top of a tall, thin mountain just wide enough for a claim, but the lag and rubberbanding was so bad I couldn't do anything productive.
I can't imagine how they're going to handle claims at launch, it's going to be absolute madness.
I have a great plot...but because there is an exploit that if you mine trees that are half on and half off of someone's claim, they immediately reappear, I have four macro'ing squatters that are constantly blowing up the giant trees half on and half off my land.
I can't delete the trees either, because they are not fully on my property. I can't ban them, because they are technically standing off of my claim. Oh well, guess I just have to endure the chopping and tree exploding sounds while I build.
I will say, I am rather addicted to it so far.
that's pretty sad that less than a week into a paid alpha test there are already people botting. for some reason I expected better from hardcore EQ fans.
You mean the same hardcore EQ players who were constantly looking for anything and everything to get an edge back in the day? I can't say I'm surprised at all.
I guess I figured the mentality that tries to cut corners wouldn't be one that would shell out $100. But I guess you're right.
Spending $100 for lots of goodies and early access is already cutting a corner.

Camping named spawns for days at a time and ShowEQ come to mind...
Heh, or instead of auto attack, we will get auto chop and auto mine.
I dug out under him and put him underground. Rude?
I've been watching Twitch streams for a couple of days now and I can't imagine shelling out $100 or even $60 to play the alpha.
I can't shake the "what's the point" feeling. Admittedly, I'm disappointed that this will have little to do with EQN and I'm just not into building stuff for the sake of building stuff.
Maybe that's why I never played minecraft!

Have you ever danced with the devil under the pale moonlight?
My claim is gone. Again. The server says I have one but it's nowhere to be seen.
I have three of everything except for another claim flag.
I'm not so sure I'm going to bother with the alpha anymore as I have YET to build anything.
Really enjoying this. Kinda silly to pay $60 for an Alpha, but I knew I'd be buying this eventually, so don't mind paying for it earlier. On Serenity. Because, ya know, Firefly.
I'm mostly interested in Landmark as a personal Minecraft sequel. It works pretty well if you liked MC Survival mode 0.5. Will be fun to see how it breaks in time

It's worth it, even just the freebie web one, if for no other reason than to find out if you like virtual Legos in that form.

I think it's great! Let them exploit it now in Alpha so they can plug the holes for Beta.
I like that that they are tricky and hard to see. Made me have to work for it.
The day/night cycle is one of the things that adds immersion to the game but puts unnecessary hardship on builders. And it is not only the darkness of night that is the problem. Depending on where you plot is located, a good portion of the day will be in shadow or what you are building casts long shadows.
I really think they should either make flight available immediately, make it unlock early or make it so that you can fly on your claim from the start.
I know the first two will ruin what they have planned for the grappling hook. (which sounds pretty awesome but may not work out well with the falling death implemented and that it would add to an already difficult ability to find an open claim) So perhaps the third option is the best for now.
Regarding claims, I am bummed that they make you choose above or below ground claims. It would be nice if they just gave you the same distance above and below. It is not like someone will be able to make a claim below you if you choose above and vice versa, so why not allow both?
Ran or anyone, have you unlocked the line tool yet? Is it available or even necessary if you already have the selection tool?
It's awfully difficult to select the right cube-space at times when trying to build. I've been gathering prior to yesterday, but yesterday finally tried building something and it's quite difficulty to wrangle with the controls. Definitely a lot of potential, but a huge learning curve. I was frustrated that the limitations on some of the shapes; for example, the simple angle shape can't be done as the smallest voxel size.
