\m/(~_~)\m/ Bring the Metal! \m/(~_~)\m/

It was posted in the video thread last week. Yes, it was pretty damned impressive.

I love the look on the drummer kids' face all the time. He's just so into it.

Thought I'd drop this gem around here... discovered them through an acquaintance who used to be the drummer for these guys. Nice punk, black-ish stuff.

Paradise Lost is releasing a rarities album and they've revisited some old songs, chief among this anthem of the 90s non-mainstream metal scene. What a definitive new version of that classic. Been listening to this on repeat for now. If only any new material would be in this vein.

Now I'm really bummed I missed their show just a couple of weeks ago.

This is another kid cover. The little girl Kala has such a powerful voice.

GWAR covers Billy Ocean's 'Get out of my dreams and into my car' for the AV Club.

Thanks to Prederick for this.

Wow Pull Me Under sounds difficult for a professional, that's impressive stuff right there. The kid singing Cemetery Gates and the kid on 46 and 2 are incredible.

I'm probably the only person that cares enough to read through it, but Blind Guardian has a news post discussing where they are in recording stages for the next album. They expect to be finished the process in May of 2014, which puts them right on their usual four year cycle. They describe a lot of the styles to their different songs, including a desire to go back to some of the older, faster, darker stuff.

I'd still love for them to make a "sequel album" to Nightfall in Middle-Earth, but any Blind Guardian is excellent Blind Guardian to me. I haven't disliked a single song from their Somewhere Far Beyond album and on, so I'm confident this will be another strong work.

I'm stretching the rules here a bit, but thought you guys might be interested in this because, well, it's so metal.

Thumper is made by Drool, a game company founded by Harmonix vets, one of whom is the bassist for Lightning Bolt (one half of the band, really).

Sold. I'm in. This was not even on my radar, and now I've subscribed to their mailing list.

The star of the game is THUMPER, the ultimate space beetle.

Well, sold.

I've noticed that the Spotify start up screen (Discover on the sidebar) actually doesn't suck these days. I've found a few good, "new-to-me" bands lately. Today it recommended Trepalium, which I'm digging. Here's a song from their latest album.

I gotta say Ghost BC sounds interesting.

Damn. After listening to Metal Nation Radio (and its predecessor) for the last few years and expanding my exposure to so many new bands, I thought I had heard of most of the bigger bands (and quite a few smaller ones) and yet in this thread I found several I didn´t even know existed. Then again so many bands have come and gone before I discover them I shouldn´t be surprised.

Motherf*cking Destrage, you guys. Best sh*t I've heard in ages.

Damn good find. Thanks for that.

I had recommended this album to a friend of mine and I forgot that you guys and gals might dig it. A Swedish band called Vildhjärta. Album name Is måsstaden. So heavy. So so heavy.

Here is the whole album: http://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9815849D871526A1.

Reminds me of ... the early 00's? Something.

Just found out Cynic has got a new album coming out next month. They're more prog rock'ish than kick-in-the-face metal, but definitely worth checking out:

Thanks for pointing out Destrage. Fantastic stuff. \m/

Just learned of these guys -- I'm digging it quite a bit:

It's kind of like a stylistic mishmash of early Soilwork and Sikth, with a goofy sense of humor.

Have any of you been privy to awesomeness that is Ovid's Withering? Give these guys your money! They have freakin earned it!

I grabbed the remastered version of this album not too long ago, and thought maybe I'd share this in hopes of starting Monday out the right way.

Anyone listen to Caliban? I seem to be digging into the metalcore movement a bit, which is apparently a faus paux with many people, but what's more metal than going against the grain?

Anyway, their latest album Ghost Empire isn't the most interesting/complex musically, but I rather like the songs on here and each song has a bit of a different feel. Seems more mainstream than their older stuff. I completely ignored that older stuff and I can't remember why this popped up on my radar today, but I'm glad it did.

Officially amazed, kids these days!

Type O Negative - Pictures of Matchstick Men with Peter Steele's vocals:

New Van Canto album released, with a new music video:

Trollfest covers Britney Spears' Toxic, and make a video of it. This is just insane!

I've never heard the original song, but that video is hilarious!

Children of Bodom have covered Britney in the past as well. Can't remember which song.
