*facepalm*

You know what's really hilarious? Someone in the comments section posted this:

It looks like he took that American flag image, added a filter, added a blue hue, added some Courier New text, saved the image and painted that on a canvas with blue and white paint. What.

Edit: Nevermind... misread.

The current bid for this masterpiece is now $34 shy of $100K...

If you look over the bid history, it's mostly just a few bidders, bidding repeatedly to boost the price, and with only one item bidded on (this one) during the last 30 days.

Smells like the Seattle Waterfront to me.

Yup, I don't believe it. It went from $30,000 to $100,000 entirely too quick.

Wait is Zimmerman in Seattle? Do I have to go buy a gun?

Just don't wear a hoodie and you should be safe.

Looking at the bidding history. It looks like one person has made a vast majority of the bids, even outbidding himself on several occasions.

If he plagiarized it, I'm going to start selling prints.

Ugh... you made me look. If you click on the 'show automatic bids' option you'll see that those repeated bids are actually interspersed by 'automatic' rebuttal bids triggered by an upper limit set by the previous high bidder.
Edit: correction... MOST of the repeated bids are interspersed. Not the worst money laundering scheme I've seen. Win-Win for the 'artist.'
Edit: So I'm not really countering what you're saying... I'm just annoyed that you made me curious enough to investigate and learn about this 'ebay' thing I've been studiously avoiding since my brief dalliance in trying to purchase camera lenses from there many years ago.

People regularly post outrageous bids on BS items and just don't pay for them. It prevents the sale of the item and draws attention to the fact that the item is BS. It's very unlikely any money will change hands.

I suspect that this is probably what is at work here. And I suspect that the feds are already on it.

I'd pay $30k for that.

Perhaps boxing will be his key to redemption

George Zimmerman agrees to celebrity boxing match

George Zimmerman is not only an artist, apparently he's an amateur boxer as well. Zimmerman agreed to enter a celebrity boxing match, he confirmed on his Twitter account.

Boxing promoter Damon Feldman is organizing the fight March 1, ABC News reports. The opponent hasn't been chosen.

"Boxing isn't new to me. It's something I had picked up well before the incident, and it's something that I liked, I enjoyed," Zimmerman told Radar Online.

Part of me wants him to fight a white dude so he doesn't shoot anyone... part of me wants him to fight a black dude... so that black dude can beat the crap out of him.

Pretty much all of me wants to get in the ring and beat the everloving snail snot out of him.

Dude, I want to watch this.

I don't. No matter the outcome, everyone involved loses. Even the audience.

If he goes down quickly to a smaller cream puff opponent, I'd be more inclined to the idea that a skinny, scared kid could take him down. If he beats the crap out of someone his own size, well, that kind of argues against his trial testimony, which was based on his fearing for his life.

I wonder if he's so stupid as to beat down a competent fighter in the ring? Seems to me the last thing he would want to do is show that he's a competent, experienced boxer who enjoys a good fight.

Nobody ever accused him of being smart.

This is more or less how I feel about it too. The less attention we gave that douche, the better.
