Steam Winter 2013 Sale is over... Back to the normal storefront.

How is Brigmore Witches? Compared to the base campaign or Knife of Dunwall?

Honestly, you could play from one to the other pretty seamlessly. I'm really enjoying Brigmore Witches so far and aside from one tiny frustration (I just completed a mission and didn't get the "ghost" achievement for it, and for the life of me, I have no idea when I was detected), it's been pretty great. I'm definitely looking forward to them wrapping up the Witches storyline. And revisiting a certain area was kinda fun (see below, it's really a TINY spoiler since it's in the first five minutes).

Spoiler:

It's Coldbridge Prison! Renovated! With the river drained.

Wow Hyetal, you were really quick with that spreadsheet!!

I don't get the Rocksmith pricing wise. As a game, sure. But buying songs that expensive each? And besides the expensive game (even on sale), you need to buy hardware....so, what's the draw and how do people explain away the high costs attached?

I think it's because it's more than just a "game" (whatever that means) in that it's actually teaching you a skill you can use in real life. For many people, a skill they've wanted for a long time but haven't been able to achieve because traditional music lessons and practicing are SOOOO BORING!!!!

(All just my opinion, of course.)

Thanks for the tips. I'm making my way through Knife right now, and besides some of the neat set pieces (the whale) I'm finding it a bit of a slog.

Hence why I bought at half off games. I have the hardware already. If you enjoy playing guitar or want to learn, it's pretty awesome. Music is like sex, playing by yourself is all fine and dandy, but a group is much better.

Or something like that.

Say I would buy it all for my two daughters. With they be able to play together? They have their own iMac.

Well, they'd have to have their own guitars and cable. Other than that, I do believe multiplayer is still in the new version. It was in the older one. It's pretty neat actually. Playing different parts of the same song and all.

Yes, there still is multiplayer, but you need 2 guitars and 2 cables. New cables are about $25. Haven't tried it myself.

I've honestly been debating getting this for my husband... But I'm wondering if he wouldn't rather do this in the living room, which would mean getting a console. Not to mention the hardware. Maybe for his 40th next year.

Added quote for context, this thread is starting to move fast as your North Americans are getting up.

I hate how the skyrim expansions get such horrible discounts, wonder how many years I have to wait for dragonborn at 66% off

Yep. If you aren't interested in learning guitar there's no 'explaining it away.' If you are interesting in learning guitar in a progressive and 'gamey' way then there's no alternative and it's pretty good value compared to lessons and more fun than teaching yourself with books and videos.

Ugh! I have already missed Europa Universalis 4 for $9.99 on GMG and Amazon, and now that it's on Steam, it's $19.99. I love saving money.

Thanks to Checkm_8 for OUTLAST. From what I've seen and from what I've heard. It is a really scary game. So I can't wait to play it at 8am in a well lit room without sound.

Will. Not. Help.

My thanks goes to Fuzzmaster for his copy of Fractal....cannot wait to relax few minutes after work with this.

Okay, which one of you jerks killed the Steam store?

I blame Valve.

It also seems the 3DS eshop is down. I can't access the Playstation Store on my Vita, either. Christmas broke the Internet.

Okay, which one of you jerks killed the Steam store?

And no more voting?! What will I do to get snow globes now?

Yeah, not sure why it's being hammered so badly right now, the offers today aren't anything amazing.

What did they think would happen?

Paradox might still have EU4 for $10 on their store (though, like Steam's store, it's down right now [actually, I was using a bad link]). When I missed the GMG sale and Amazon wouldn't sell to a Canadian I bought it through them to get my steam key. That was a couple of days ago so it may not be the case anymore.

Edit: sorry Natus, looks like it's back to full price.

Is the community vote down for someone else as well ?

It's all down. "HTTP 503 - Service unavailable" as far as the eye can see

Manach wrote:

I'm having trouble with most of the community features right now (Inventory, profiles, etc) as well with the store in general. Servers must be getting slammed.

Steam seems to be FUBAR ATM.

Maybe L4D2 was more popular than expected?

I got in a few minutes ago, but was logged out. Now I'm back in the land of the great unwashed with you guys. :(((

While we're waiting, thanks to clever id for How to Survive. I've been sitting on that one for a brief period, and now I need sit no longer!

Same here on the sunny island of curacao....no steam...now what?

Same in the smallest part of the world.. Belgium.

Edit; its hard when steam doesn't want my money.

Wild Internet used Overload!

It's super effective!

Uh oh:

Community’s Choice voting has ended.
Experiencing voting withdrawal? You can still rate up content on the Community Hubs and vote for games on Greenlight.

Thanks to MrAndrewJ for the gift of Retro/Grade! I played this at PAX a few times, and look forward to the final product!

Doesn't everyone already have L4D2?
