NBA Season 2013-2014 (Sep.) FIBA World Cup

Damn guys, this is big news (for me, anyway). Zach Lowe tweets (three):

NBA will announce tomorrow that box scores with video links will be available to all fans on http://NBA.com - For example: If LeBron is 10-of-16 from the floor, fans can click on that "16," and see a video reel of all 16 LeBron shots. - There will be similar clickable video for assists, turnovers, steals, rebounds, but NOT fouls. Archive will include last season, too.

That's actually really cool.

They're extending some of the internally available stuff to fans. That's pretty cool.

The internal tools are a lot more detailed than just "all shots", though. Over time they'll probably open it up.

Since my Knicks are beyond atrocious (I really thought the early 2000s was all the torture I was going to get), I'm going to just pretend it's the off-season and talk about trades.

Interesting trade idea for the Knicks/Celtics: Knicks get Kris Humphries & Gerald Wallace, Celtics take Amare Stoudamire. Benefit for the Celtics there is to get the cap relief sooner (Wallace's contract has a year more on it), since they don't plan on being good for a couple years. Knicks get someone who can actually play inside.

Spurs 11 game win streak stopped by the Thunder last night.

Pacers back to being the only team with the fewest losses in the league at 1.

Smartest thing he's done as Nets coach. But it just cost him $50,000.

LOL

I heard about it but the video is high comedy.

Topic title updated.

Pacers beat the Clippers in LA yesterday.

Tonight @Portland, who are tied with the Spurs for 1st in the West. Huge early tests with this west coast road trip, including @Spurs on Sat, @OKC on Sun.

Go Pacers!

The 3-15 Jazz beat the 15-3 Rockets. In Trey Burke we believe. Also Harden was a beast.

Lamarcus Aldridge is a punk. Twice in the last couple minutes of this game he has kneed Roy Hibbert in the groin.

Paul George in the zone though, with 34. 3 point game, 2 min left.

Dammit. Career-high 43 for Paul George but it wasn't enough.

I'm not sure at what point I should risk getting excited about this Blazers team.

On the knee to the groin thing, the tweets between Hibbert and Aldridge are priceless.

Here's a link to easily view them.

Cheeky yet classy tweets. I'm not convinced these are pro athletes.

Half of Roy Hibberts twitter feed is about game consoles. I like that dude.

Same here. The Blazers have been playing at a high level but

1. They've been healthy, while a lot of teams have had key injuries (Iggy, Lin, Rose, Gasol, Sanders).

and

2. There's a lot of teams tanking the season

One injury to a rotation player (even Freeland) could bring this to a halt.

At the moment I'm just enjoying the ride. They're a fun team with good charector players (kneeing aside )

Iman Shumpert's getting traded because he tore into Melo on the sidelines to the point where Metta World Peace had to come peel him off. This is so Dolan.

I saw a story today that the Knicks front office is telling potential trading partners for Shumpert to discount his poor performance so far this season because Mike Woodson isn't using him properly.

With friends like that, who needs enemies. I can't imagine Woodson is still the coach at Christmas.

I can't imagine he's still the coach either, but like someone said a few weeks back, who can they replace him with? The only way for the team to get better is to blow up the roster anyway. Also, epic matchup tonight.

Anyway, enough NYC basketball misery. How bout Oladipo and Carter-Williams?! I'm going to look for the replay tonight.

Anyone using nba.tv this year? Happy with it?

That was me.

And here's the proof, from yesterday's Daily News:

“I watch the Knicks play,” [George] Karl told Denver radio host Dave Krieger, “and I wouldn’t want to be in that hell for a million dollars.”

Ok fine. We can give him 2million.

Heck, if the Nets can pay Lawrence Frank $7 million to do a daily book report for the next 4 yours...

The largest media market has two of the worst owners. It's a beautiful thing.

Why's Prokhorov a bad owner? The pundits and fans all thought this Nets team would contend. I certainly didn't expect this mess.

Because he overpays for old players?

Most teams overpay old players. Good teams! Kendrick Perkins is still making like 12 million a year.

I mean it's easy to smirk and roast the Nets now, when they're weighed down by injury and inefficiency. But on paper the moves made sense. It's not like OKC was shopping Durant for three first round picks.

My point is there's a difference between bad owners and bad decisions. Phoenix has a bad owner. Sacramento had bad owners. I can respect the man for pursuing contention, even if the particulars didn't work as planned.

Amazingly, Perkins' PER has dropped from 8 to 6 this year. I think it was all the way down to 1 during the playoffs last year though. I wasn't surprised to see that Anthony Bennet was dead-last in the league when I just checked though.

Is there room for me on the Blazers bandwagon?

If you appreciate a 6'11" power forward shooting fadeaways from 20 feet, then yes.

I'm not being sarcastic. I hated that shot of Aldridge's. But he's perfected it to the point where it's absolutely deadly now. Last night he was incredible.
