Goojers with job opportunities

Anyone know anything about the Fort Wayne, IN area? I'm in the IT field and my wife has lots of family there and we are contemplating a move, but not sure about the job situation since I know it used to be a thriving factory town. Not sure about the tech scene there.

Used to live there; took a job transfer into town. PM me if you like.

The bank I work for has an opening for a Marketing Officer.

It's mostly brand side, with a sprinkling of events.

Ah, if only you were in the South, not the Northeast.

Anyone with some experience in energy efficiency, program evaluation, or applied statistical research, we're looking for folks in Seattle.

You look like you're hiring more for people with experience, but you might want to check out Oregon Tech's Renewable Energy Engineering Program the next time you do a hire for an entry-level position. The administration hasn't done a great job publicizing the program, but the people that go through the HVAC/green building track are supposed to come out with some pretty solid energy efficiency analysis skills. Just a thought.

We're pretty much always hiring entry-level positions so I'll check this out. Thanks!

Looking to immigrate to Woodstock, Ontario, Canada.
At the moment working for the Royal Netherlands Navy (petty officer).
Specialized in underwater acoustic (AAAC for anti submarine warfare).
Also specialized in Radar (ELTA), ISAR and Star Sapphire (IR/CAM/Spotterscope)
Mostly been flying for the navy and coastguard.
Also a navy instructor and Dash 8 Sensor Operator Instructor.
Am looking in my field, even in Halifax (PAL). But am looking for anything that will make
a decent wage.

Curse is hiring from our new headquarters in Huntsville, AL. Some of the open positions include:

  • Front-End Web Developer (mid level)
  • .NET Web Developer (mid & sr. level)
  • System Admin (sr level)
  • Customer Support (entry level)
  • Marketing Coordinator (mid level)

If that sounds like something you're cut out for, then I can provide you with the relevant job description and hopefully get you hired on!

Just a bit of advice to everyone looking for a new job: this is the best time to update your resumes on Monster/LinkedIn/etc. January is the start of new budgets at most places and that means new positions opening up. Recently updated resumes seem to rank higher when employers/recruiters do skill set searches on these sites.

Please come to Alabama... we need more gwj'ers here... lol

Ooh If I lived in AL (and looking for work) I'd have been all over that.

ETA: a new position!

I am an excel guru but not a programmer .

Looking for a tech service person to work on one of our main polymer products... lots of travel around the US and pretty good salary and really good benefits.

Still hiring. Any folks in Seattle?

Yes, but I don't qualify for that lol..

It looks like we'll be moving to Holliston, MA fairly soon. If anyone is aware of any *nix admin positions in the area I'd love to hear about them.

In the meantime, I'm back to hiring another data center tech in NYC for afternoon/evening hours (3 - 11). Unix experience is a plus.

Gig #1: Someone to set up a legit version control system for Wordpress with me.

I know enough to know I can't put it off any longer, but I did the math and it's officially not cost-effective for me to learn to do it all myself. I'm not committed to any particular system, although there seems to be more Git-specific documentation in the Wordpress ecosystem. It needs to be straightforward enough to use that I can teach even an intern to use it properly.

I can help with this. Never used Wordpress but my understanding is that it's easy to setup. PM me with your needs.

I have a friend that runs a decent size medical practice in Jacksonville, FL who is looking for a Director of IT.. This would be a fairly hands on position with a few junior break/fix desktop techs working for them. Need a good grasp of SQL and Crystal Reports for reporting requirements as well as the ability to negotiate and determine the best solutions for various business needs (Cloud vs Premise for example)

We've got several seats open on our development team for entry-level developers, and I've got a seat open in our technical services department. We're also looking to build our QA team out. We're looking for entry-level and/or more senior folks (for that job, definitely PM me and we can talk details).

Entry-Level Software Engineer

Entry-Level Analyst

I've linked to both Monster ads because they have the most up-to-date listings. If you want to apply, you can use Monster or PM me (you can PM for more info too).

My team (in Austin, TX) is looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer. Click the link for details and PM me if you have questions.

Maaan.... Why aren't Goodjers ever looking for 3D artists...?

Gig #2: A graphic designer who has at least passing familiarity with Wordpress.

Pretty straightforward... I have more work than I can handle. I need someone to whom I can hand off copious notes and art direction, who can then put together simple business materials and sometimes a matching Wordpress site. System is already pretty streamlined already and I will insulate you from client BS. I mostly build on WooThemes Canvas so I will set you up with that if you're not already familiar with their stuff.

Edit: #1 pending, #2 found!

We're now looking for Chemical Market Development Person in addition to the Polymer Technical Service position we have had open awhile. Positions have options for location depending on details.

I know there aren't a lot of chemists or materials scientists on the forums, but maybe some marketing guys are here.

If relocating to Helsinki, Finland doesn't sound like a stretch too far and you really know your stuff in game making, well, I could use a few good folks in my new team at Remedy.

Right now I need a lead artist (character experience counts, mobile experience counts), a lead programmer (iOS, Unity experience), and a gameplay programmer (energy, prototyping skills, mobile experience). Quite a few other positions opening up in a couple of weeks.

As it happens, the big Quantum Break team upstairs is also looking for lots of folks. Their positions are on the same page there. We've got plenty of foreigners in already - I'm guessing more than a third of the company - the everyday language is English, and we're very helpful in getting you settled in.

I don't know sh*t about game making but I can still do stuff. In Helsinki.

If you still need help, I can walk you through how I just set up a base Git repo I'll be using for future a Wordpress projects. I think it's pretty spiffy, uses Composer to install Wordpress and all plugins I use while developing, and Vagrant to work locally.

Thanks! If I weren't married I'd jump on that in a heartbeat! Unfortunately, I'm looking only in the US for now (probably should have specified when I was whining before I just... really dislike my situation right now.). Preferably I'd like to move back to California to be near my family again.

Also, I'm probably not Lead Artist material. At least, not just yet...

Well, there is (entirely theoretical, wishful) talk of opening a US west coast branch one of these years. I'll let y'all know if that ever becomes more than daydreaming among the ranks who'd like to try living and working abroad.

If that happens, I'll be there with bells on!
