The full game came out on October 29th. At least in the US. I dont know if the EU release was simultaneous or not. I would expect it's out there too.

The beta ended weeks ago though.

Last night on Dam there was a guy prone under one of the staircases, not fighting, so nothing to alert his presence on the minimap but blocking the point, was a pain to find until I ran off onto a nearby hill and started scanning with the PLD.

Yeah I think that match helped me figure out Conquest a bit more. We were just throwing ourselves at those tanks instead of going for control points. I finally decided to just run through the hills to the other control points and we managed to retake every one but wherever the tanks happened to be. I imagine that's trickier with more people on the map since teams can leave defenders but it worked pretty well in this case. By the way, there have been a few times when I couldn't capture a point. The flag just never transitioned. It seems like you need more people there than the enemy has, and maybe there was an enemy that I just never saw?

I was very happy to see at least 4 people switch. I think by the end, the teams were equal but the lopsidedness took its toll and we lost by a HUGE amount.

I finally drove up onto the radar dish and got a few kills in the last few minutes by shooting down at them.

Your math works out for me too. I have 135k points in Conquest and have six service stars. You're right, it must be factoring in award and medal points too.

It does include the number of medals. So with as much conquest we've been playing and if you're primarily capping points you'll see a ton of these popping up. Especially on the long running maps.

The randomizing of teams every single round can be just as much a detriment as it can a help. One game it does a good job and the score differential at the end is very small. But then instead of sticking with those seemingly close teams it jumbles everyone again and it can very easily end up super lopsided all over again.

That said, the only bit about it that really frustrates me specifically is getting on with an intent of playing in a squad with Mannish or Pikey or Titanis or whoever, pick a gwjer, and then having the server bounce me from squad to squad every five minutes. There are times when it's absolutely maddening. You wonder why the squad orders stopped, look down, and realize either you got moved, or multiple people on your squad did, and whatever cohesiveness you had going is gone. One minute you're on a squad with gwjers and the next you've been shoved over with GunDudeXXX and WhofartedIfarted12. If I wanted to play with random tools that have no intention of going for objectives or working at least a little bit as a squad, well I can get that on any server any time.

It's super annoying and at times it can ruin the game.

If it ever becomes possible for that autobalance to move whole squads, and keep those squads together, that's a thing that needs to happen.

I have the Procon tool working finally!! There are two supported plugins that seem to be working. You should now be able to Vote for the xext map and also the Chat Filter is running.

I have not tested either and hopefully will get the chance tonight.

Good stuff, ThinJ. I feel frustrated with the same thing. I am trying to learn the game, and would rather stick with gwjers while doing it and getting thrown around is kinda killing it for me a bit. Why the hell can't we form a party, like in the CoD xbox games?

I got autoed out of an all gwj squad mid game on the Paracel map into one with one other person and he was sniping from spawn

All your points are valid but you're right it's a double edged sword. The other night I took the ass beating of a lifetime against GWJ allstar crew (before the team scrambles were implemented). It was bad enough I quit for the night.

The Auto balance is turned off now. Once there are better plugins supporting auto balance, I'll turn it back on. I'd like it to move the last joiner for auto balance and possibly rotate teams only if the ticket balance between win/losing team is too high. It's on the wishlist.

I would hope most of us here would volunteer to switch sides if the mudhole being stomped reaches critical mass. The mix and match was just too random.

Exactly the thing that bothers me. And when it's not moving you, it's thieving people from your squad and scattering them and giving you random whoever in return.

Gumbie, regarding that, personally I can take a whooping if I get to play with people I like. But spending map after map only rarely getting to actually squad with the group of people I logged on specifically to play with is more likely to run me off than anything else.

Occasionally some stragglers or latecomers join and get on my squad and at least save me from pubby hell temporarily, but then the next map loads and it starts all over.

It's worse because I know the actually good play experience is right over there in that other squad, but the server keeps kicking me out of it.

Physical distance does not allow that, so I will instead hug with dollars. A money hug.

I really hope at some point it becomes possible for it to just take the top squad on the winning team and trade it whole for a middling squad on the losing team. That seems more fair and more likely to have the kind of effect it needs to.

Here's hoping auto-balancing at the squad rather than player level will come in with the platoon additions, if not before

Yeah, I'll join on one of you guys that I played enough BF3 to understand play styles and how I can help and communicate with, then suddenly I'm with ImFor20MaddScopz or somebody I'm not as good as some of you guys, but I know how to work in a squad with you in a lot of cases because I can figure out what you'll likely do better than others.

I do understand how some of us that are more consistent BF players year after year, vs those that will play a couple of months at launch then move on, might be a bit unfair, though. Not sure what the answer is. Everybody should have a chance to have fun, and I don't like 500 ticket stomps or two minute Rush maps.

That said (now that I've read Lightning's response), I think a simple request for some balance would get a least GWJ people to spread out a bit more across the teams. However, with a full server, there's only so much of that that players can do themselves.

It could be simpler maybe, if it were just more customizable. For instance, say one complete asskicking happens. It keeps the team static until the next map loads, but then shuffles the top three players from the winning team to the losing, and three lower half players from the losing to the winning team.

Then you aren't punishing people for doing well halfway into a map, but you're also significantly increasing the odds of the previously losing team being more effective. Would maybe be a solid temporary alternative if moving whole squads isn't an option.

I think it is a tools issue that is not allowing it to auto balance by squad, I know there were servers doing that in BF3, hopefully we get there eventually. I will say though that I found it to only sort of work as a balance tool, it was way too easy to have the team win by a ton because of one great squad where they could single handedly dominate games no matter who else was on their team, with squads having 5 slots now that could be an even larger issue. I think it would be okay if it did a better job of putting you in squads with friends. Some games it is great and me and four GWJers are in a squad, sometimes we are completely split up even though they are on my friends list. I did have a weird squad yoink the other night when I was in a squad of all GWJers and it yoinked me out to put me with one person who jumped on who was also on my friends list, that was annoying.

Parked CPU Cores:
Don't know if this has been discussed here yet or not, so I'm throwin' it out... I was having a few problems with some micro-stutter within the game and stumbling upon this in Reddit yesterday really fixed me up.

I run BF4 across 3 screens and this fix allowed me to switch everything to ultra / 4x / HBAO. Turns out, when I ran the little un-parking program below, 3 of my 4 cores were parked. After unparking I'm getting great results.

Hope this helps someone...

Hey guys I have been playing, I have a few of you on my Origins FL. What happened to the BL friends list? Did they get rid of it? and Platoons? did those go away?

Send me a FR I would love to play with more folks.

Also are people using the Vent server or the in game audio? I have been having trouble determining if my mic is working in game. I can hear squad mates/leaders at times but can't tell if they can hear me? anyone else having that issue?

If you've not played with some of us in awhile you've probably been removed to make room for the new folks playing. Lot of us have reached the 100 friends limit on Origins.

Platoons are coming in later.

As for comms we're using both. Vent for coordination and trash talking and squad voip for those not in vent.

Yeah, Xfactor did a vid on it.

I found a plugin to run Auto Balance on the server and its active. It should now only balance on very lopsided maps, player count from last joined, squads will stay together, forbid switching to winning team, forbid switching after being switched, and clan tags. There are many other settings and we can test it out to see how it works going forward.

The server is also streaming to Metabans. This means that any player banned from another streamed server will not be allowed into our server. We can add exceptions (VIP list) if needed. I know Moto and I got banned before in a BF3 server for not opening up our locked squad.

Banning should only happen for Cheats/Hacks/Racial Slurs/Repeat offenders.

There needs to be a mobile Android version of this. That would make it so there are ALWAYS mods available. That would be most awesome.
