Let's Do the Extra Life 25 Hour Charity Event Together! Nov. 2nd

That's my 25 hours done!

A huge thanks to those of you that popped in for some moral support and also for the numerous hints for Okami HD despite me poor sense of direction.

Good luck for those of you still busy with your streams!

Now to go to blissful sleep.

Yeah, that attack is a new low for sure.
But keep at it guys keep streaming for those kids!

Glad to have stopped by. Wish I could've made it for the very end, but I was busy shootin people. Congrats on making it!

Bravo, Japan-man!

I'm heading into the Monster Hunter portion of my night... My kids are relieving me at 5AM, bless their little hearts...

Stream is still going strong, not a lot of viewers though...

Ah, MH. That can suck up some hours. Also, been pretty cool seeing your entire family get in on the game playing.

Yeah, i'm still going, despite going into more or less a random string of games since the Metroid games kind of... failed.

Xeknos, Wing-It and I are helping each other stay awake on the Vent channel, so feel free to join.

EDIT: Disregard. Can't stop the train.

Aaand we wrapped it up with the kids pulling in the final leg.

Way to go everybody!

Quick question: I received a donation from someone whose work is going to match the donation, but it won't show up for around 90 days. What do I do, if anything? Do I add an offline donation and check "This is a matching gift"? Or just do nothing?

Finished not too long ago. I think I got enough of a wind (and light through my window) that I'll be able to stay awake until proper bed time. But Holy Hell, first day at the new job tomorrow is going to be crazy.

I might do a front-page wrap-up of the event. We'll see. Either way, we managed to pull in over $3500, and that is awesome.

Love you guys.

GG

And I had a five hour nap today, certain to contribute to this being the shortest weekend I've ever had in a long time.

Awake after a lil nap, tired but wouldn't have missed it for the world, even though it ended up being a mostly BF4 marathon, was still great to be part of, and looks like we did pretty well overall, as did Extra Life given all the website troubles. Now to make sure I'm with it enough to drive my 5 year old helper back to his mom's later ...

I would imagine there's a time limit on when you can give them funds, right? So, I'd post it as a donation on your own and wait for the check.

Then again, I have no idea what I'm talking about because I didn't run a campaign.

So to anyone that has done this in the past, the Dashboard has a "Print Event Info" that also has a signature line on it. Do I have to do something with this? It seems as if this is a fairly automatic process, and I believe I misunderstood a lot of the "under the hood" activity going on when I signed up. Is all the money collected already by Extra Life?

Actually, I just contributed $10 to Xeknos (bah, now I must re-edit the front page! ), as I hadn't donated to anyone yet due to believing I didn't have the funds (I had a bit! Yay!). It looks like transactions are done more or less instantaneously via credit card or Paypal. So as far as I'm aware, my involvement is finished?

I just want to make sure. I've misread and felt misinformed every step of the way. For such an easy clear process, the wording on the FAQ and throughout the website makes it seem unclear and misdirects in many ways.

Well done to all of us!

I enjoyed watching the rest of you after I managed to get 3 hours sleep. BF4 looked like great fun and I wished I could have joined in. Can't wait to go for it again next year

So among the highlights of my stream were when Demonbox, Vector, KeyMastar and my friend Chris from work decided to try out the No More Room In Hell mod which came out the same day. This mod was apparently in development for 8+ years (longer than the entire Left 4 Dead series) and was pitched to me largely as a super hard core version of that. It's so hilariously broken and terrible that it's actually hilarious and as a result, we all had a laughing good time. I cut that 90+ minutes out of the stream and edited together a highlight video last night. You guya' gotta' see this:

NSFW language by the way. I get sweary at 2:00am.

Yes, the Extra Life web site processes all the payments and collects all the money. Once you're done playing your marathon, you're responsibilities are done.

Alright, so does anyone here (other than PXA, who I assume is in as usual) want to be on an episode of The RambleCast tomorrow night (Tuesday, 11/5) around 9pm ET to discuss their time with Extra Life? We record on Skype and all you need to do is show up ready to discuss your experiences.

I would definitely be down!

Deed is done, obligatory before and after shots I threw into the Post a Picture of Yourself thread, but for completeness .... IMAGE(http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3784/10672778923_9ca3c04823_n.jpg)

Sure

Looking good, Shyn!

Alright Shyn and Kamakazi, I'll PM you with more details.

Also, Shyn, you totally could have been Data from Independence Day (I don't remember his real name) for Halloween. Now, however, oddly enough, you can be the drunkard pilot that was abducted by aliens.

Brent Spiner

Also, two separate movies / shows.

Randy Quaid was the drunk pilot.

I just wanted to mention as well that donations are staying open until the end of the year so if you couldn't pitch in yet, you still have a chance! With two business donations I just put in today, I've now hit $1,450 in my campaign. I'm 232 of 37,826 participants on the Extra Life leaderboard and more amazingly, the Gamers With Jobs team is 105 or 3,617 teams, after passing out goal of $3,500 which was revised up I think 3 times? That's friggin' awesome!

Details on my single-session stream of Daikatana for crossing $1,000 is forthcoming. We can totally get me to $2,000 so that I have to live stream Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs before then! Who's in?! Anyone who watched me stream Amnesia: The Dark Descent last year knows this will be worth it.

Yeah, we ultimately did a really good job for a first year team without an affiliation to a big name website, magazine or other (Rooster Teeth was #1). As a result, they not only got a lot of cash, they got a lot of PEOPLE to get cash and total it up.

So ten of us collectively ranking up to 105 out of 3500+ teams? Yeah, I still view that as an achievement.
