Jay Cutler and Lance Briggs both out.

Jay has groin injury and Briggs a shoulder injury. Both are out at least 4 weeks. It might be time to start tanking the seas...er investing in the franchise.

Caleb Hannie Luke McCown to the rescue!

Bud Adams was the guy who moved the Oilers to Nashville, and Houston has never forgiven him. It was a nasty break-up.

Yeah but they're are bigger things in life than football. Talking about sh*tting on a dead person's grave is about as classless as it gets.

Yes, and there are classless people everywhere. To take one idiot's statement and conflate it to the entire fanbase is specious at best.

To be fair, this follows several other lame fan incidents. I didn't get the impression Gumbie was addressing this in a vacuum.

But mostly, there are lame fans everywhere. Not only did Chiefs fans cheer Cassel's injury, it's assumed that the team released Eric Winston primarily because he called out the fans for their behavior.

It mostly rears its head when fans begin to think they are entitled to superior play by their team. They seem to forget that there is another group of players, with similarly entitled fans, being paid a lot of money to make the other team fail.

Basically this. There are lame fans everywhere, but for some reason, they seem to be bubbling to the surface in Houston a bit too often this season.

And while only "one idiot" posted the toilet paper comment, most of that thread is less outrageous variations on the same theme: hooray for this man's death.

Still does not represent a whole fan base, but that element of the fan base is too noisy in Houston right now.

Ozzie Newsome is at it again.

Baltimore trades Bryant McKinnie to Miami. No word on the compensation yet, but no doubt will offset some of what Baltimore sent to Jacksonville for Eugene Monroe.

That he was able to get anything at all is a job well done.

You can Google "Cleveland celebrates Modell's death" if you care to see more.

This isn't about Houston, or Cleveland, it's just humanity.

This. When you have a divorce, especially an ugly one where you leave with all the stuff, even the memories, you know damn well that certain people aren't going to think well of you. Bud Adams ain't loved in Houston? No sh*t! He also fired the beloved Bum Phillips, who passed away just a few days earlier.

Also, comments on a message board? Please. PLEASE. I can find anything and everything you want on the Internet. It's srs bzns. Let's at least go back to discussing the false reports of mobs at Schaub's house.

And Enix, when were you in Houston? I had no idea.

Population of Houston (no, they're not all Texans fans) as of 2012: 2.161 million
Seating capacity of Reliant Stadium: ~71000
Number of posts in that thread (no, I'm not going to count the number of actual posters) as of this post: 59

Finley was stretchered off also and had to go to ICU... :/ rough week in murderball.

These numbers seem to be implying, but not actually making, some kind of argument.

I repeat myself:

"Still does not represent a whole fan base, but that element of the fan base is too noisy in Houston right now."

This right on the heels of his son urging him not to play football anymore after his last concussion. I hope he is OK, and I kind of hope he never plays again, but only by his choice.

Jets activate David Garrard, cut Brady Quinn.

I typed "Jags" before correcting it to "Jets", and I gave myself a sad.

So now Doug Martin might not be out for the season?

There are multiple reports he is out for the season. Greg Schiano is saying he might not be. Greg Schiano is the coaching anti-Christ, and is therefore probably not correct.

Also, he needs to be set on fire.

Wouldn't that just make him feel at home?

I'm a giver.

I saw a poll today on a Bucs fansite where 91% of respondents said Schiano needed to be fired immediately. Apparently 9% of the voters are either close family relatives of Schiano, or Bucs employees Schiano managed to bully into repeatedly voting for him.

I do have some optimism--the Bucs play on Thursday night against Carolina. That means there's 10 days before the next game, and, if he is going to be fired, that would be a perfect time. Well, any time would be perfect. It would be perfecter.

I wish I could pull a "voice of reason" schtick and say your ranting about Schiano is over the top and out of proportion with reality, blah blah blah.

It's not. That is a bad NFL head coach. Head coach is as much about management as football. Schiano has failed the management half about as hard as one can.

Giants going with two new backs tonight
With Jacobs most likely out. Hillis and
Cox. Get your popcorn!

You remember when the Oilers choked away a 32-point lead to the Bills in that playoff game? Then. (1992 to 1995, to be exact. It's been a while.) That was the beginning of the end of the Oilers right there.

I was long gone by the time the Texans came to town and don't know if they're liked or not. But Houston loved its Oilers, and Bud burned a lot of bridges over those bayous on the way out of town.

They need to figure this sh*t out by Thurs. Fantasy Doug Martin owners have moves to make.

Sam Bradford is done for the year too. I don't think anyone brought that up. Also if Case Keenum plays well Schaub's injury is likely to linger until he's irrelevant.

That is a load of horse manure.

I am leading in my fantasy game by 12 points. I had Jacobs left to play against his AP tonight. I thought MAYBE MAYBE there was a chance with that lead that Jacobs might keep me just ahead in points against AP. If the giants had announced this yesterday, I could have played J Bell or J Rodgers.....

I had the same. I quickly took in Hillis. Unfortunately it looks like Cox is getting more snaps.

Aaaand that's one of the reasons I don't play fantasy football.

Ravens fan here. They still take every opportunity to Female Doggo about Art moving the team to Baltimore. But then, Baltimore still has a giant raging Hate-On for Irsay over moving the Colts to Indy.

fantasy dart shooting with a blind fold IMO.

Josh Freeman sucks in purple too.

Payton Hillis is looking pretty great.

Wait wait wait . . . you have a running back who had an inexplicably awesome year last year, and a new QB who has been on your team for all of two weeks, and the RB carries the ball 13 times and the QB throws FIFTY THREE PASSES ARE YOU KIDDING ME.

What the hell playcalling was that?

God, that game was brutal.
