Borderlands 2 Catch-All

Well that's sure... handy.

The thing that really gets me sometimes with FFYL is when I go down at the same time as I kill the last enemy. Then sit there until the timer runs out because everything is already dead. They need to add an elevator music accompaniment or something.

Ha!

You can hold down the E key to end it sooner.

I didn't know you could switch weapons at all in FFYL. The mouse wheel certainly doesn't work. Are you saying I can hit a weapon hotkey and have it switch in?

Weird, I could swear that I use the mouse wheel in FFYL. I will have to check tonight...

I really like the random vault hunter that gives you free stuff. It is a nice tribute to a fan of the game. If I could remember his name I would link to the wiki.

Mike Mamaril or something?

Mouse wheel works fine for me when in FFYL.

Huh. I'll have to try again. I could swear that switching weapons didn't work for me in FFYL.

Rocket launchers are crap in this game... seriously useless. .

I carry one for emergencies. When I'm in Fight-For-Your-Life

This this and this. Have always used rockets for FFYL mode. I always keep a launcher in slot 4 just for that.

There have been some bosses I might have used them on as well. But mostly for FFYL. Don't know how you would ever get up otherwise.

With elemental damage, it seems like half the time I'll get back up without having shot anything at all.

Or my turret, or with Gaige, with Deathtrap wandering around (usually showing a little note saying "Thanks, Deathtrap!").

I gave Bloody Harvest a try for the Halloween theme and new skins. It's really pretty bad, and the head is just a pumpkin head. I was hoping for at least more creativity in the skins. Maybe there are others I haven't uncovered yet. Overall, I suppose it's worth the $3 if you want to run around a Halloweeny area for a bit, but it's nowhere near the total conversion Tiny Tina's was.

Agreed. Very short and tedious quests. About the only thing it's worth it for are the skins/heads and even then, considering it's just a pumpkin head, not so much. I jumped in because it's $3 and I'm so heavily invested in B2 already but I'd recommend passing on this one.

One good thing about this whole Loot Hunt thing is it's gotten me to level my commando more. Started off before the event at 39, just hit 50 off killing the Bunker in order to get Dukino's Mom unlocked.

I find myself just hopping in to kill the days' target and then quitting immediately afterwards. I think I'm a bit burnt out on B2. Funny that you get to the highest level, spend dozens of hours getting the best gear for him, and when you have the perfect character there's nothing left to fight.

Finished all of the DLC except for Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt... which I kind of feel like I'm missing something on. The witch doctors are stupidly annoying (ESPECIALLY the Vampiric ones). And the quest line just wasn't that engaging after finishing Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage (and nowhere near as cool as Tiny Tina's D&D adventures!).

That said, this game is now in rotation with Diablo 3 and Arkham Origins while I wait for it to PS4 time. Should keep me entertained, and I may just manage to max a character out one of these games during the wait.

So I started playing only a few weeks ago. I'd gotten the collector's edition on launch because I'd loved the first one so much, but for some reason, it didn't click at first and I'd dropped it. It's now the only game I'm playing! I'm not done yet, even though I've been playing a lot, I think I'm up to chapter 11 and level 21 or so. Playing a Siren (I always go for the Siren, my character in the first one was Lillith, loved her, she kicked butt!), I think I liked Phasewalking better than Phaselock, though.

There was one side quest for Overlook I absolutely adored, I'll put spoiler tags, just in case:

Spoiler:

It's the quest in which you help them build a town shield, and then test it. I was at the cannon, adjusting it, thinking "oh no, this is a bad idea, the shield is going to fail, and I'm going to be responsible for wiping them out." Reluctantly, I pulled the trigger, and bam!! That creep Dave is erased from existence!!! I had wanted to punch that Dave's lights out ever since I heard him over the ECHO for the first time. It was a priceless moment, I was literally cheering!

Looking forward to reading more posts, sorry I skimmed, but 138 pages is a LOT.

I'm delighted you're getting into it. I've played over 129 hours of this game, by far the most of any game outside of World of Warcraft. And I've barely touched most of the DLC I have for it too - I finished Captain Scarlett's DLC, but not any of the others. Tiny Tina is kicking my ass with her damn skeletons, though now that I have some better gear and an extra level or two I might do better.

So would you recommend the DLC?? I'm really hesitant to get it because I already feel like I'm getting sufficient bang for my buck. I don't want to burn myself out like I did towards the end of the first one after ploughing through the Underdome, the General's cache and most of the zombie DLC and Claptrap's revolution.

I'm trying to clear most if not all side quest before I move on with the main story so last night felt a bit tedious runnin back and forth between areas for the Clan Wars side quest.
Just hit level 22, so I'm moving along nicely.

I will say that the main game is 75% off, the GotY version is 50% off, and the DLC is only 35% off - so that shows where their priority lies I own the DLC but haven't played it yet. I may someday, but after finishing the main game I was fine for now. In my very biased opinion, I'd wait for the next sale, because you know it will be on sale again.

The Tiny Tina DLC is very good. I wouldn't bother with the others except maybe TORGUE if you like his character.

Hammerlock's was lame, and Scarlett's started to wear on me... but Tiny Tina's and Mr. Torque's DLCs were great... perfect mix of fun and funny. Then again, I may be biased by the fact that I absolutely love those characters.

Climb the tracks, to the train... before you go insane, wut wut.

That's a song I wrote.

+1 to Torgue and Tiny Tina. I also enjoyed Scarlet, but got bored with Hammerlock.

I enjoy the characters, but not sure I really want to go for the DLC at this juncture. Thanks for all the feedback, gang!!!!

I didn't play any DLC on the first runthrough, but it certainly helps alleviate the tedium of the second playthrough.

There's definitely one thing DLC-related I'm not a fan of: it's how the game keeps throwing Psycho mods at me when I don't have the Psycho DLC... >.>

How is the co-op in this one?

Pretty fantastic. I'm of the opinion that coop is really the way to play these games.

Co-op is fantastic with people you know. Fan-freaking-tastic with *anyone* from GWJ.

I liked all of the DLC, but in the order described above. LOVED Tiny Tina's like everyone else.

BUT, Hammerlock's can be annoying or impossible, depending on what mode you're playing, with the witch doctors. (they're uber, and they level up the grunts around them to be uber if you can't kill them quickly).

One great thing about Torgue's is that you can start playing it at level 15. So when I made a Psycho, and I had already done the main game's quests a buhzillion times, it was only my second playthrough of Torgue's and funny as hell with the Psycho.

Otherwise, I heartily recommend the Mechromancer. At times overpowered...but then that's the fun. She has an ability that if she doesn't reload (by hitting R, only by letting the gun/launcher automatically reload), she starts getting Anarchy points (each point is +damage, and -accuracy). Meanwhile she has an ability to hit with misses (up to 50% bounce and hit anyway). And then there's her huge robot friend. If you were ever wondering what those 1-shot or 2-shot shotguns were for...turns out they're very damned fun with Anarchy. And you can get up to something like 400 Anarchy (and an ability that if you do reload, as you lose Anarchy you heal and have +accuracy). Honestly, playing the Mechromancer looks a bit like you're playing Tiny Tina...and that's pretty awesome.

My wife and I have played almost exclusively co-op. We're slow, so we're only almost done with the main campaign, and we just started on the DLC (I think we're in Hammerlock's, it's been a couple weeks so I forget.) I've also played solo a little to try and level a second character. I don't have nearly so much fun alone. I think it's partly personal preference, but it really feels like the game is intended as a co-operative experience.

I wish my wife were interested in games other than Zingaville.
