That's great news! Really liked the Tex Murphy show, going to have to check those out at some point. Looking forward to Populous even though I mostly dabbled in that (and sucked at it) on the SNES.

Congrats man! That's really cool to hear that you got some extra exposure.

I finally unsubscribed from Pixel by Pixel. It's a relieving feeling, even if some of their better 3+ person shows were recent. A cardinal sin was broken, thy dreaded spoiler. Fortunately, I'd seen that particular moment from Dexter, but no warning or edit was given. If they can disregard such a big moment as normal conversation, what other things could be spoiled for me?

I think I may respect PxP passing from my life by reliving it's best moments, aka when it was a duo show.

Yah, I will only let them off because it was a TV show spoiler and not from a show I watch (Dexter). If I ever do watch Dexter down the line, there's a fair chance I will have forgotten it. Certainly, I should probably get on to them about it, just to reduce the chance of it happening again. I think they do read this thread from time to time so... The two previous podcasts I axed were Sony Blogcast and InGame Chat, both for Mass Effect 3 spoilers funnily enough.

I think the problem with the 3+ rotation on PxP is that both Nick and Patrick had different styles that blended together to create a great mix. But Matt (who I have no problem with on his own) and others are all similar to Patrick in terms of comedy and likes. So, now it feels like the podcast is skewed a certain way. If they could get another "Nick"-type then they might be able to make it work better.

Haha, I don't even remember Dexter spoilers going out. Oh well, sorry you unsubscribed Cyrax.

If Matt passes away I'll let you know

Yeah, it did seem pretty inadvertent at the time.

New RambleCast should be up later today. Sorry it's a bit late, we had scheduling issues on the original recording day. They should be resolved now.

Here's a question to those who listen, though: I have two ideas I wouldn't mind discussing on the next episode, but am not sure which I'd like to do. So I'd like you guys to let me know which you'd prefer (or at least, which you'd prefer being discussed first). Idea 1: what makes a game a game (discussing more linear titles like Dear Esther, Gone Home, or Beyond: Two Souls). Idea 2: A discussion on controversial gameplay, such as the torture scene in GTA5 or some of the trigger-warning scenes in Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls.

Let me know which you'd prefer and we'll gear our discussion that direction.

I vote for idea 2. I think "what is game?" should be lumped in with "are games art?" as topics that have been done to death and are rapidly becoming as trite as "what's your favorite final fantasy?".

I'd go #1 because I still often see comments that say games like the Walking Dead aren't really games but more like interactive stories. Curious which side you guys are on.

The same could be said about #2

I don't think either are particularly interesting topics.

There's always an option 3: you guys recommend a topic you'd like to hear us discuss.

Actually, the greatest reason I'm considering option two is how positively a lot of you guys have responded to us discussing some of the other more potentially controversial issues. While a lot of these topics have been discussed to death, I'd like to think we'd come at them from a different potential direction, as has seemed to be what people have enjoyed thus far.

Still, I don't expect a big spoiler section for the time being, so I'd say it's probably going to be one of those two topics unless something in the news piques my interest.

The big issue I have for option 2 is that it sounds like you'll be spending the time desperately skirting spoilers for 3 games that I haven't played yet.

Anyway, if I think of something else, I'll come back and post about it :).

Actually, I think that's the issue with option two. I don't think we COULD avoid discussing spoilers. So that would automatically shut some folks out.

HatchetJob 105 - We discuss Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Edward Snowden's revelations about the NSA and how games should portray governments in the future. We discuss a couple of plot points and some locations, but I don't think Danjo considered them major spoilers.

I'm listening to it now. To be honest I wouldn't have wanted to hear those details of locations and moments of action in the game before playing it (I've played through it twice :).)

They should definitely implement the whole monkey in a drone thing. That way, if the wrong target was hit, you could just blame it on a rogue monkey... or dodgy peanuts.

just wanted to drop in my gaming podcast suggestions in (I'm moving away from video gaming and more towards Warhammer Fantasy and 40k), and here's my current list of podcasts:

Forge The Narrative
The Independent Characters (Explicit rated)
Noobhammer Podcast (Explicit rated)
The 11th Company

Occasionally, I do listen to Some Other Castle (which is a video gaming podcast), but the hosts tend to go off on tangents galore. Did I mention this show is very explicit?

Since I started streaming/capturing my research sessions, I realized I am not very good at games

Here's Dark Forces from last night:

Thanks for giving it a try. I'll update the website to say there are location spoilers etc.

Had another fantastic RambleCast recording session last night with ccesarano and demonbox. Really can't wait for you guys to hear it, I think it was a really good chat. So glad Chris still tolerates me being on the show, I love doing them.

Tolerates, cmon... I'd clone you and put you on other podcasts I listen to. :p

Speaking of, latest one has been live on iTunes and Zune Marketplace (and I suppose RSS feeds), so looking for thoughts. I can also drop the link in here when I'm not so lazy later on for anyone that needs it.

And yeah, at this point I really feel like Gerry is an essential part of the show. If there's an episode without him it'll be weird.

Aww shucks.

Ha! I'll be sure to make a mention of that in the next Podcast. Thanks!

Just listened to the Pixel by Pixel podcast about Bioshock Infinite, after finishing the game.

Flipping the cover art for the game. Best... pro-tip... EVER.

I know right! I'm still working on our spoilercast. Should be out by the end of the year.
