Self indulgent parent thread

She met her real baby daddy yesterday. It didn't go well.

Search your feelings, you know it to be true! Next, on Maury.

My little girl is five today! I can't believe how quickly they can go from this

Oh wow. Both pics are super great, Minarchist. Adorableness overload!!

7 hours later I get to leave the hospital, but my poor wife and child have to stay over night. My daughter was having respiratory issues.
on a side note... you you need a new family doctor when you mention his name and hospital staff cringe.

Minarchist, adorable photos! (And I'm jealous of your wife looking perfect in the "I just had a baby" photo).

Bonnonon, good luck. That is definitely a bad sign...depending on the hospital staff I guess.

Ask the pediatrics staff for recommendations. They aren't supposed to give them, but sweet talk them enough and they should offer a name or two. It may help if they know who your current doctor is.

Garvey, that pic is classic.

I found our pediatrician through our OB/GYN office.

And yes, Minarchist, your daughter is the real "very small tyrant..." of cuteness!

It looks like my daughter will now have a ped's doctor who specializes in asthma in children. which is what they think she has. They think the cold's she gets induces the asthma and are keeping her for observation for one more day and will officially diagnose her when she is two.

Minarchist, just wait until you get this photo:

I just realized that was almost FOUR YEARS ago. Good Lord.

And that's really good to hear Bonnanon. Asthma is not fun and I'm an adult. It must be frightening for a little one who can't understand what's going on.

Today was her second day of acting normal. We decided to go to the pumpkin patch/apple orchard.

Above is the look I received when I said we were going to go home.

She decided to make some art when we got home. As shown below.

Thanks, momgamer.

Mom, moments like that are why I am hoping my next one is a girl. Three more months before we know but that will be here before we know it.

So we have been working on potty training... Lee and I were outside playing and he stops and starts running to the castle holding his crotch and yelling "I PEE, I PEE" I follow him in and he climbs up to our suite and instead of going to the bathroom he goes and gets a ball and walks back to the door to go outside. I say "What no potty? Buddy we came all this way so we should try to use the potty while we are here." I proceed to take his pants and dry diaper off and he gets very obstinate. We walk in to the potty and he sits down and immediately starts balling. It the effort of "tough love" for potty training I let him cry for a moment and decide to take a couple photos that I am sure will haunt him for the rest of his life.

Oh man Mono, he's going to hate that when he's older, although from those few frames, it's hard to tell if he's hating it, or loving it...

We just finished making our flying robot dinosaur dragon... I'll post pictures once I get a spare 5 minutes and a shot at the WiFi, right now, there are ninja princesses to rescue from said FRDD (we call her Fred).

Seems I didn't get that 5 minutes until October...

I present FReDD (and co-creator, Loopy-Lexie)

Look what we made!

Thanks! Maybe I wasn't clear that her name is Leia. *ba-dum-sad trombone*

"What kind of car is that, Stellan?"

"PLEECECAR!"

"That's right! And what sound does the police car make?"

"WOOP! WOOP!"

Okay, not really my own kid, but she's my twin sister's daughter so I'd like to at least boast my gene pool.

My niece, Tiny Princess Captain America Evie. Her twin sister (not pictured) will be Tiny Princess Sir Knight Claire for Halloween. Obviously, they chose their own costumes.

And yes, they've been swordfighting since they came home with their swords and boards.

Wow, guess twins run in the family!!
Your niece looks absolutely badass, and adorable!!! And I have to say, her costume looks *amazing*!!!

Yup--definitely have to agree, that costume is frigging cute

Had a great day talking/playing with my daughter yesterday. First we were drawing on the sidewalk, she draws a picture of a person so I ask is the a boy or a girl. Her answer: "A boy, can't you see" as she makes the penis much larger and more pronounced. Later while explaining that her cousin, who is only a month older, swallowed his first loose tooth while playing rough with his older brother. I asked her what games she likes to play with other kids, since she said she didn't like to play roughly.

Her answer: "I like to play kissing"
Me: "And how do you play that?"
Her: "You run after the boys and kiss them. I'm faster than all of them so I catch them all the time."

She's only 5, I thought I would have at least a little more time before having to figure out how to talk to her about all this. Oh well at least there are good examples of what to do here.

Locked towers leap instantly to my mind. I'm glad my daughter is only 17 months. I have a few years to accumulate more facial scars and tattoos. And firearms.

Tell her to make sure she's getting consent. Running down people of the opposite sex and force-kissing them stops being cute at age 7.

We have a tendency to ...replicate.

My son is the one with the ball:

From the last game of the season, which they won 14-8. Ended the season 5-1-1.

The officials remind me of American Gothic.

Okay, now THAT is absolutely wicked.
Also, wow, AbsurdBaby got big!! They grow up so fast...

Dave has his Halloween costume all picked out...

whoops, wrong movie!

Uncanny!!
In all seriousness, very cute!! But what has me really impressed is how you managed to train him for housework at such a young age!!
