Living Card Games From FFG Catch-All

Yes, it was called out, but your links have much better info for getting up and running with the unwieldy thing. There's totally something to see there.

Thanks, glad it could be of help. I couldn't make heads or tails out of OCTGN when I was trying to get the Magic stuff working. db0's guide lays out everything you need to know plainly and clearly.

How do you organize such a game? I haven't seen any sort of friends list in OCTGN. I'd love to play a few games, though, I'm dying to bust out this NBN deck against some new people.

there's a friends list of sorts, but after adding someone to it a few weeks ago i tried to help someone else add a person and couldn't remember how I did it. They're still in relatively early versions of a new interface and it has issues.

For now you're probably better off arranging a time to meet with someone here and taking it from there. I'd be willing to play in a week or so (enough time to build a Runner deck (i currently have one corp deck built and ready).

silly double posts.

Fantasy Flight isn't wasting any time with rolling onto the next cycle of data packs for Android: Netrunner. They just published a preview for "Opening Moves" which is the first pack in the "Spin Cycle". Out in Q3, I'm guessing late June or July. For old time players, looks like the "Double" keyword is returning for Operations and Events. Bad Publicity is another theme for this cycle.

Some neat looking stuff.

Speaking of another LCG, we've got our Star Wars LCG Regional tournament coming up this Sunday and I'm getting excited for that as well. The more I play that game the more I like it.

Anyone still active with these LCGs, either on OCTGN or live play? I've been playing an occasional live game of Netrunner with my wife and casually playing Star Wars with a friend. Loaded up OCTGN but like others have been reluctant to jump into a game/tournament/league where it tends to be a much more competitive atmosphere than I'm comfortable with.

I've played Star Wars once but, I go more for the cooperative ones. I own Lord of the Rings base game and, I really want to try the new Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Rise of the Runelords.
JMoto, I see it says your in Appleton; I'm down in Neenah. We should grab a drink sometime or a game.

Still playing a lot of both Netrunner and Star Wars locally. Enjoying both games for different reasons and on different levels. I need to sit down and figure out OCTGN at some point. Have it downloaded but haven't sat down with it yet.

I'm getting into ANR now that I've grasped the bare basics. Picked up Trace Amount and Cyber Exodus recently and built my first runner deck. I've installed the Netrunner module for OCTGN but don't really have an interest in using it until I've played many more matches IRL.

I think it's brilliant. It's been hard for me to wrap my head around some of the mechanics but it's starting to click. The design is giving me a lot of nice ideas for my own project.

I wouldn't mind trying out Netrunner as well. I'll download OCTGN.

Netrunner is one of my favorite games ever. Learning it can be rough, but once it clicks it is amazing.

I've heard that quite a bit. I figure this would be the best option since my physical copy is collecting dust in the closet currently.

It might be good to start a lil' GWJ OCTGN group for Netrunner if there's enough interest

I might be interested in this. Haven't played NR online in a very long time, I'm curious to see how OCTGN handles the game.

I'd be very interested in a Netrunner GWJ group, just gotta learn how to work OCTGN.

Speaking of Netrunner: there is an event coming around the US in the next couple of weeks where players can help to determine one of the new Runners will be. They are calling it the Plugged-In Tour, I hope to hit the one in Boston.

Drat, I seem to have bungled my OCTGN account. It's been a while since I fired it up, hope the Netrunner stuff is easy to update.

I've never played ANR on OCTGN. I may just have to fire up a couple squash matches with somebody patient (oh that's me getting squashed in case there was any doubt) to just learn how the system works. OCTGN being what it is, there's virtually no rules enforcement coded in. Paying for card with credits is all done manually from what I've heard.

I just think if we set up a little GWJ group it'll be friendlier for everyone to dip their toes in.

I wouldn't mind attempting that if you're interested Maclintok. I'll need to do another perusal of the rules, it's been a while.

Oh god the OCTGN interface for ANR is hard to look at on my laptop. This is going to take some doing!

Hey fogrob, we can definitely try to set up some practice games. If you haven't already tried them out there's useful deckbuilders.

CardgameDB
Meteor

The CardgameDB tool has a lot of aggravating rough edges but it's been nice solely to have a bunch of articles on hand to read.

When's a good time for you? I think I'm free later this Thursday evening. Friday as well.

I can do either night, I just need to be able to wrap up by 10pm CDT.

I've been obsessed with Netrunner lately as well. I started going to a gaming night at my local gaming store. Living in Minneapolis where FFG is based, there are FFG employees who also play there. I was able to get a promo version of the Melange mining corporation card. It was also just cool to hear them talk about the game and running tournaments.

I don't have time to devote to a tournament, but I did download OCTGN and would be interested in trying it out as well...

This site is great for browsing cards combined with this chrome browser extension. Sadly the deck saving functions are not very robust.

If anyone is interested, I think I'm going to try and figure out netrunner and octgn using some tutorial decks I found on BGG. I'll probably be on for the next hour, or longer if someone wants to play. Tutorial decks I found here.

Hey fogrob, I'll try to log onto octgn in about a half hour. My name there is also Maclintok.

Cool, I'll try to friend you up. Do you want to use skype or just game chat?

Played a few turns tonight and after stumbling a bit with the interface, we had a good time. I definitely learned the importance of buying off tags.

Runner go boom?

Scorched Earth followed by a Closed Accounts :). A little bit of fun before I had to sign out prematurely.
I think I will need to watch some octgn tutorials but fogrob and I were still able to puzzle through the worst of it.

Sadly the Weyland tag and bag decks dominated GenCon. It's just currently a bit too easy and efficient to pull off.

Yes I read about that. I tend to gravitate towards aggressive play in card games and the tag n' bag seems to be a great expression of that for the Corp in Netrunner. I guess aggression can be construed in a number of ways in this game but for me being able to "send a message" to a Runner is very appealing to me I that it would probably be my favoured play style regardless of its dominance in the meta.

I've only run it a few times, lost once because the runner wrecked my economy. Every other time it came down to they'd have 4-6 Agenda points, I'd drop Sea Source and a Scorched Earth or two and game over. It's probably the deck I do the best with, but the one I have the least fun with. Outside of running HB Super Servers against Gabe anyway.

What I really have fun with though is my NBN shell game deck. Runs a lot like a Jinteki one, but has a lot of fun NBN tricks as well just to spice things up.
