Dark Souls II Catch-All

I am so in for that CE.

EDIT: Hmm, Amazon only shows the CE for PS3 and 360. I hope the CE is available for PC too, or I'll be a sad panda.

I am in the same camp. I loved DkS; and want them to take my money with their PC CE if possible.

I'm not finding it very compelling... I don't like figurines, like the idea of a soundtrack but never listen to them, and artbooks interest me for about 10 minutes. I'm not even that excited about the new cover.

Besides, I'm already buying it twice; once on PC and once on PS3, so that's investment enough :p

Speaking of art things I just saw this. It's Dark Souls and not DSII but still pretty awesome. Too pricey though.

Oh god, so much money for that

I think I'm going to get me some of that CE loving, for the first time in many, many years.

Same here!

Aaaaand pre-ordered. The CE will be mine! Feeling giddy like a kid a scant few days from Christmas day !

Good enough reason. I can wait for the party.

I can't. Kyrieee, any chance you'd be willing to move your birthday up a few months so we can get it earlier?

I pre-ordered the PS3 CE, but it occurs to me to ask what everyone else is buying this for? I expect I'll double dip for PC as well (or swap to PC CE if they announce it), but since I'll have a console copy might as well be the same as everyone else.

I have pre-orders for both PS3 and PC at the moment. I expect to hold on to both of them.

I was thinking Ce for 360. Can't stand the PS3 online features, I expect to play this online frequently.

Has there been any announcement for the new systems? The graphics are definitely an improvement and I wonder if they are planning to make a move to the new consoles by launch.

I'm not sure where I want to buy the game at the moment. The PC will likely run better than the PS3 version but hearing that invasions can happen at any time has me feeling that I might want to buy on console because it is much easier to play offline.

Regardless of any of this I will definitely play with anyone that has the same version I do.

Still no suggestion of next-gen versions. I'm taking them at their word there.

360, because I like playing on my couch.

From isn't that big of a studio so I doubt they have the resources to make five versions at once.

My guess would be there will be a next gen version next fall, similar to the Prepare to Die edition for Dark Souls on PC

I got the CE for PS3. Doubt I'll get it for the 360, but who knows. At this point I'm considering getting DkS for PS3 since I already have it for 360

Oh man, they might get a double dip out of me if that happens. I've avoided getting DkS PC so far, though, despite the beautiful graphics.

I am extremely conflicted on this one.

I would greatly prefer it on PC, but I would also greatly prefer to have it at launch.

I wish I knew how long the PC version is after the PS3, if we are talking weeks I could probably figure something out, if we are talking months things get harder.

Maybe I'm wierd, but I like having the guide... The wiki's won't be useful for the first couple weeks, so I actually don't mind the wait... assuming it isn't too long.

Yeah I came to Demon's Souls late. It was one of the reasons I finally got a PS3. And by that point the wikis were very solid. Then with Dark Souls I got the guide book along with it because at release the wikis were worthless. But now the guide is so outdated, and the video parts of the guide that were supposed to be uploaded never were by the time I was done with the game on PS3. Then by the time I rebought it for PC on a Steam Sale, the wikis were up to date for the DLC, so I was good there.

Feel like the guide is only good in the short term, and depending on how much they patch and how much DLC they release, it can end up totally useless. Doubt I will bother this time.

I am the opposite, there is something awesome about having it that first week and how the discussion happens around the community that creates the information in those guys.

I have redboxed both of the first ones the first weekend just for that experience.

I loved the guide for skyrim... and for mass effect. I don't want to screw up relationships or story arcs and have to go back and fix them the way I want them to turn out. While playing Dark Souls the wiki's tell me don't kill this guy yet he's the only one who sells arrows for awhile... etc. etc. They tell me the guy I save may kill others but you can get them back and it's a good mission/quest. The guide can help me there, but it can't compete with the masses after game release. The wiki's will be better given time.

I think you're crazy but you can tell someone else how they should enjoy something.

Dark Souls 2 will be my first day-one experience with the series. With 1 I was at least a month beyond, and then set it aside for a good while. With DeS I was years behind. It will be fun experiencing the mystery with no wikis, a robust summoning community, etc.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to not knowing squat and having that real sense of community as we all pool our knowledge. This wait is going to be agony.

I tried DkS after hearing Shawn talk about it on the podcast. I was very confused as to what the gameplay was like but it sounded pretty neat. I waited for a sale and picked it up for $30 when it was 3-4 months old, tried it once and put it back on the pile after 2-3 hours. I didn't really get into the game until it was about 1 year old. DkSII will be a really rare day 1 purchase and play for me.

I think I have to buy this day 1... I just can't decide on a platform!!!

That pun =/

I will avoid this, I heard more than enough on this weeks 8-4 play.
